All the stuff they're posting is not just "pre-2001", but from only a few albums (doggystyle, chronic, 2001, nwa/eazy albums)
I think you got it the other way around.

Yeah and the albums you name are classic albums, of course more people are going to like the tracks off them than tracks off The Documentary or GRODT etc.
The question wasn't what's the top 5 Dre beats this century was it?

the question was "beat" alone, not entire track... i bet none of those 5 would be in my top 5 fav dre "tracks"
-
Here are my favorites:
5. Nothing but a G Thing
The anthem of 92-93.
4. Deep Cover - The beat is so dark and it fits the mood of the song perfectly.
3. The DOC - Funky Enough
I love the sample used in this and how it's flipped.
2. Still Dre - I love the sophistication of this song, with all the instruments layered perfectly.
1. Snoop Doggy Dogg - The Shiznit
That baseline is absolutely bonkers. Then it's got the flute on the hook, and the percussion is insane, then it has that synth too. God I love this song, one of the best hip hop tracks ever.
-
cant list 5, theres 2 many to name
-
not gonna even participate in this one, and i thought i had trouble with the BATTLECAT thread, no way i'm out of this one, lol
-
-"Straight outta Compton"
-"Deep Cover"
-"Deeez Nuuuts"
-"Phone Tap"
-"What's The Difference"
-
I fail to see the difference between a synth and a keyboard. I've always considered it a keyboard as opposed to a synth in tha shiznit, but i guess tis all the same.
