Out of ALL the lines Jay-z has ever spit on records, you figure maybe, MAYBE 5-10% of them have been lines he got from other dudes. The lines on that video clip from Biggie make about one verse if that. Add ALL of the lines from that clip that were "stolen" that's maybe 1-2 songs. How many songs has Jay-z put out in his career?
Your hate for someone has to really run deep when u start researching and compiling shit like this to fuel your negativity.
Here's a line I like from the latest album...
10 year veteran, I done said I been thru with this bullshit game but I never can...
I used to think rappin at 38 was ill, but last year alone I grossed 38 mil...
I know I ain't quite 38, but still...the flow so special it's got a .38 feel.
Who is that talking in the video clip anyways?
-
probaly one of the million he stole from big
fuck a jay-z

Never really a Jay Z fan unless the track was produced by Premo.. So I would have to qoute "D'Evils"
"I never prayed to God, I pray to Gotti"
thats just about all I myself can think of right now..
-
most them songs are huge b.i.g tracks everyones heard... it's not as though he dug up b.i.g's coffin and stole some lines written in his notepad and tried claim them as his own.

'like short sleeves i bare arms' - brooklyn's finest - greatest line of all time imo
'I'd rather die enormous than live dormant' - can i live
my fav from kingdom come would be 'the bruce wayne of the game, have no fear, when you need me just throw your roc signs in the air' - kingdom come - its corny as hell but quite clever

yeah it really does consolidate what probably constitutes the majority of Jay z's bitten lines, which means the other 90-95% of his output isn't bitten
BUT still it's one thing to bite half a line to rhyme it with something new but he would take a whole couplet. he'd spit a line borrowed from someone else(which is okay...)...but then he rhymes it with the same line the person he borrowed it from rhymed with it(which is not cool) like that give it to me shit where he takes that WHOOOOLE biggie STANZA like several couplets in rapid succession "system/diss em/relation/be chasin/replace em" he takes that whole shit with no switch up, completely jacked it. and he did that me and my girlfriend whack ass shit biting 2pac who didn't like him...LMAO 98% of his best lines are from reasonable doubt. it's true, even I have the album. but either way, to me it's not the borrowing lines but borrowing whole couplets and stanzas: jacker. Fuck this dude.
Best Jay line I've ever heard, of course from Reasonable Doubt
from friend or foe:
you draw, better be picasso, y'know the best
cause if this is not so, ah, god bless

- the prelude
one of the greatest verses in hip hop history
I'm so far ahead of my time, I'm bout to start another life
Look behind you, I'm bout to pass you twice
Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present
I'm fast, niggaz can't get past my past
How they propose to deal with my perfect present?
When I unwrap "The Gift & the Curse" in one session
Ain't no livin person can test him
Only two restin in heaven can be mentioned in the same breath as him
Seven straight summers, critics might not admit it
But nobody in rap did it, quite like I did it
If you did it I done it before, you get I had it
Got mad at it and don't want it no more
And that goes for everything from flippin that raw
Flippin whores, flippin vocal chords, don't get it twisted
Get it right, did different, did it better, did it nice
Did the impossible then did it twice

jesus christ, additional to the fact that he says "uh"and stupid shit before and after rapping damn near more than any other rapper. like in the beginning of black republicans. nas just lets jay make an ass of himself for like 2 minutes before he decides to tear shit up.

"Hov's a livin' legend and i'll tell ya why/ Cuz everybody wanna be Hov and Hov's still alive" - Never Let Me Down on College Dropout
ya'll are just jealous cuz Jay is more successful than the dipset and he doesn't like Cam'Ron, when he spits other's lines he actually does big up those people, he's never stole a whole verse or anything, at least he's payin' respect to the game

Nas has been the King of the East Coast for nearly 13 years now.
Jay-Z is the most over-rated rapper in history.
I've been an avid hip-hop listener since the early 90's. I remember when Jay-Z came out in the summer of 96 and he hadn't even released an album yet and they were already talkin about him being one of the greats. It's just good marketing, they've been saying it so often and for so long they got people to actually believe it. I didn't even like his first album when it came out in 96, and that's supposed to be a classic or something.
I remember Sept. 96' I hit the record button and tape the songs they played on the local R&B/Hip-Hop station. I had tracks like Ginuine "My Pony", Aliyah's "If Your Girl Only Knew", Do Or Die "Po Pimp"... anyway, Jay-Z's track with Mary J. Blige "Can't Knock the Hustle" was in the middle of those 3 songs, I used to listen to the other four and always fast forward through Jay-Z's. Now 10 years later, I realized that the Mary J. song he had on his first album is the best song of his whole damn carear! And it's a track I used to fast forward when it was out. This Jay-Z thing is the biggest lie in hip-hop.

nas was never king of n.y
biggie shitted all over him with kick in the door
and lets not forget victory
duct tapin your fam, DESTINY lies in my hand, gat lays in my waist
then roll by 2001, jay made nas relevant again with Takeover
fast forward 2004, you got 50 taking shots at him, with no real reply
same with cam'ron
no one respects the n!gga
-
Lol, Nas always been a major force in hiphop dude, and if you say no youre just ignorant, at least nas makes his own shit and dont steal as much as jay, but in the end its all about the product they make, and i can listen to the black album, vol. 2 or w/e jay album without thinking off jacked rhymes, jay made some good albums imo, and to me in the end its about the album/music, not who or whats behind it...
-
i always liked "Nigga please, like short sleeves I bear arms"
