Producer/artist Timbaland has lined up an array of
superstar guests for his new album, "Shock Value." Due
April 3rd via Mosley Music Group/Blackground/Interscope,
the project will be introduced later this week by first
single "Give It to Me," featuring Justin Timberlake and
Nelly Furtado.

The album is said to be "sequenced like a movie" and
encompasses a wide range of genres. "He ventures into the
alternative world and the real pop world," Timbaland
right-hand-man Nate "Danja" Hills previously told
Billboard.com. "He has so many different sounds from
hip-hop, to pop, to rock on this album. And he pulls every
single one of them off perfectly.

Beyond Furtado and Timberlake, guests on "Shock Value"
include Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, the Hives, Elton John, Fall Out
Boy, M.I.A, She Wants Revenge and Kerri Hilson, who is
signed to Mosley Music Group.

Timbaland has not released an album under his own name
since 2003's "Under Construction II," a collaboration with
longtime partner Magoo. He is presently on tour with
Timberlake and debuting snippets from "Shock Value" during
his mini-set each night.

If you don't like this encoder rip it by yourself when
you will get it in your hands.

Release is banging, JT and Timbo have a great chemistry.

The Way I Are beat is  :o . My Love part 2

50 ripped that Come and Get Me joint, even Yayo sounds nice. 50 must have wrote Tims verse too.

Bounce joint is wierd. Its obvious Bishop wrote Dres verse. Bassline is heavy.

I really liked this album.. dope beats, tracks everything.. only a few tracks I wasn't completely feeling but I'm sure after a few listens I'll like them all.

This album seems like a club album that all the ladies are going to love.  I'm going to burn a couple copies and let some of my lady friends check it out and see what they think.

^^ I think its an album thats for everybody. He got couple of rap joints, couple of pop, rnb, rock, emo. Great album for the summer indeed.

Album is well put together. Beats are banging, some songs are wierd but this aint an album you check for lyrics, its just banging. Only thing im dissapointed is that Jay, Wayne and Snoop tracks didnt make the cut.

Yea it's definitely got alot of different types of songs on it but they all seems to work beautifully.  Man I love piano tracks and that track with Elton is tight.

Do you know if those tracks with Jay, Wayne & Snoop leaked?

The Jay track was first gonna be on KC, but didnt get cleared. Then it didnt get cleared for this one too, so now its suppose to be on Jays new album. Lil Wayne apparantley decided to keep the track for his new album. Dunno about the Snoop one.

Yeah, the beat is a bit fucked up but that's blatantly Bishop's lyrics and flow for the Doc's verse there.

Hope Bishop does more ghostwriting for Dre if the results are like this 8)

Ok, so I went through the whole cd like 10 times and it STILL sounds fresh. Beat wise this album is a classic, all songs might not be a 5/5 but nothing sucks. The album just flows so god damn well.

Timbaland is raising a bar for these producers. Even ofr those dark track, that were "simple yet effective" in the past, hes bringing out so many melodys in the background.

Timbaland>> Dre, Just Blaze, Premo, Kanye

And he it doesnt take 34 producers to create a cd and it doesnt take him 8 years (cough Dre). Dre is gonna have to come big with Detox, to surpass Timbaland. Again im not talking about lyrics and songs itself, Im talking about the beats.

I'm almost reluctant to check this out because there are so many Timbo dick riders out there since he dropped "SexyBack." I know so many people fawning over his work that could probably only name ten tracks tops in his catalogue: "My Love," "Promiscuous," "Give It To Me," etc. It's getting a little ridiculous. I've never claimed to be the biggest fan of dude, but I do respect his work. Still, where were all these bandwagon hoppers when he was dropping equal heat for the likes of Missy years ago? Man, "Work It" was as tight a production as anything he's done lately. As I recall he was about to leave the music industry at one point, because he felt under-appreciated.

The bottom line is that Timbo is a dope producer. Nobody's denying that. Producers go through 'hot' phases however. Kanye, The Neptunes, Scott Storch, and Dre have all been the radio's 'flavour of the month' in the past. Once people tire of the urban electronica sound people will move on. Same way they did when they got tired of The Neptunes synths and Kanye's samples. In the meantime, I wish some of my mates would cool it with the hyperbole.

Nonetheless, I'm sure it's a cool album!  :D

I retract my previous statement that it didn't impress me. It pretty much sucked. A couple of the beats sound the same, the guest appearances suck. Too much hype. Very overrated. I deleted this cd from my computer already, and have no desire to listen to it again.

I think Timbaland was always recognized. He was always 2nd to Dre, at least imo. His work with Missy, Magoo, Ginuwine, Alliyah, Bubba was always known.

People just realized that he really stepped his game up and took things to another level.

Yeah man, to some extent I agree. I just find it funny when people who probably couldn't name a Timbo-produced track before (and I know a few such cases personally) are suddenly like, "oh, I LOVE Timbaland's music!"  :D He's definitely trying new things, though, and I respect him for that. I feel Dre maybe saving his latest creative direction for "Detox." As for Timbo, his current style is hot, but I hope he doesn't get relaxed and start churning out several pale "SexyBack" imitations. Can't see it happening though.

On a side note, it's funny how The Neptunes production gets nowhere near the same level of attention these days. Personally, I feel that the minimalist style they embraced on the Clipse's latest album was a step in the right direction for them. Too bad that CD was so overlooked, and as a result they're unlikely to be so creative with their beats in the future.  :-\

I hope so to, Timbo is on a roll right now and his sound should be fresh for at least another year or so.

About Neptunes, the main problem with them is that they've started copying a certain beat very fast. People just got tired of it. But yeah, the Clipse album is the shit, they did a great job on the production part, still imo, not even close to what Timbo is doing these days.

Just got this.  Production is AMAZING, which is exactly what I'd expect given how good Timbo's proven himself lately.  Lyrically (and I don't just mean the rapping), tho, this album is pretty much disposable, but it does showcase his versatility.

Oh, and BTW, Dre's verse on "Bounce" was wack as fuck.  I realize he's never been a great MC, but his verses are still usually quality.  Not this time.

I'm disappointed with this, only track I really like is Apologize. Timbo dissing rap and shit, so you'd expect some sophisticated music on this.. well no, there's none. Plus, his rap-beats have been a lot better than the rap-beats he's got on this.. can't really judge the pop-beats, but I overall like the Justin Timberlake LP better than this one.

^^ Good to see at least someone doesn't immediately jump on the "Whoa Timbo!" tip here. I'm in queue for this at some random irc bot right now, we'll see how this turns out. At least Timbaland is known for having not-too intelligent lyrics, yet making good music on his own albums all the time. I'm pretty curious about this new project.

tha reality of the matter is timbo always had people include there input in the studio jjuss like dre .. devante helped him orig .. storch was around there .. then he got with danja handz .. timbo fell off fo a minute everythin he was doin sounded da same .. it wasnt until danja got with the program did he become relevant in my mind again

let's be real fellas. with all the hype aside, who does really think this is a good album?

apologize really does it for me, but cmon let's not act as if timbo was a good rapper, or as if many of those tracks have an game-changing beat.

This album is better then most of the shit released last year. And whens the last time an album changed anything? This is a solid album with great production. Thats it. It's not like The Games album, or TI's album with 18 tracks with the same sound and subject. Every track is uniquely different. More producers should release albums, with different artists so they can show a range of talent.

Well, I managed to listen to the first seven tracks, but I just couldn't take it anymore. That shit was fucking generic, and I know damn well Timbaland can do wayyyy better than that.

Pros: I liked the way Dre's voice was mixed on Bounce, but other than that it was a total disgrace. Release was one of the nicest songs out of the first seven, and Oh Timbaland! was aight. "Timbaland ain't gotta run nowhere, Timbaland got private planes."

I haven't heard this but I don't really want to, I feel like I'm in a minority of people who thinks Timbaland's beats are horrible and I'm not going to waste my time listening to pop songs from average singers just because everybody else is.

I don't like it, I expected the same Timbo who did tracks like "I'm So Fly" and blow my mind but this shit is weak, there are a few good tracks though.

I hope so to, Timbo is on a roll right now and his sound should be fresh for at least another year or so.

About Neptunes, the main problem with them is that they've started copying a certain beat very fast. People just got tired of it. But yeah, the Clipse album is the shit, they did a great job on the production part, still imo, not even close to what Timbo is doing these days.
the only two names that can be put into the same sentence in todays world of modern beats along with timbaland are dre and neptunes....dre>timbaland>neptunes....but they are the most gifted and innovative producers out there today, can do everything....i find it funny how people on here have never recognized them yet pretty much everyone knows whats up really....

do not get me wrong....just balze is an amazing producer...kanye does his thang...but the three above are the only ones who cannot be fucked with....

oh and this post aint a diss to you about neptunes, i just needed to speak up for them niggaz because those cats are amazing.......

oh and i find it interesting you call this album a classic for beats....while i doubt this is true, imma have to check the album

So I just bumped this in my car. Crazy

Every beat thumps so hard, Im gonna have this one in my stereo all summer.

If  Timbo doesnt make The Way I Are a single, hes a fool. Track/ beat is just too nuts to get unnoticed, plus it would give Jeri and D.O.E. attention.

i was slightly underwhelmed by the cd but it is a great variety of sounds and i had a chance to play it in my car today...man the beats on here really BUMP and come alive with a big system...don't judge it from headphones/crap stereo cause there isn't half as much ambience to the production otherwise...

oh yeah they have links for the 2 bonus tracks up over on that timbo blog site...peep them here: http://thethomascrownchronicles.blogspot.com/2007/03/timbaland-f-mia-come-around.html

Beat wise this album is a classic

loooooooool, you actually believe people will remember this album in 10 years, because of the legendary beats? I think you're just rushing things too fast.
