i have the funni feelin we havent herd detox coz dre hasnt found that rythm he had when he went in on albums with albums like tha chronic -doggystyle - 2001 ..it seems like from all his latest productions he reshashin ol sounds ,addin a few new twists but it juss aint all comin together .. don't get me wrong it aint wack but i aint that next episode like people r expectin

Dre is tryin to find a "new" sound til 2003, most of his beats sound unfinished like he was experimenting sth, like all these average (weak) beats are part of a certain process to reach the Detox sound.. I don't know though if it's part of a process, decrease the quality of his beats voluntary (to shock more with Detox) or if he has definetely fallen off (that's possible unlike most here think)...

Its not about what he gives to someone, its about what artists pick. And 50 hasnt picked a wack Dre beat yet.
Let me give you an example of Outta Control remix, which is IMO, the best Dre beat in the past few years. 50 said in an interview that he was in the studio with Dre and Dre was basically putting beats to "recycle bin". He put Outta Control remix on and wanted to delet it, when 50 heard it and told him to use that.
To me it seems like Snoop went for that laid back sound with Dre and probably passed on the bangers.

^^^nah homie while i agree with parts of what you saying, its not always like that, often dre will give niggaz a few beats and then tell them to choose one, but when dre is in studio with big cats, he'll often work on a beat too....and about the outta control remix(which was dope but nuttin amazing, kinda the set off this weaker new sound imo)....dre and 50 made that joint originally for the massacre but 50 decided not to put it on the album thinking it aint good enough...then when he was working on the ost, 50 was going through his computer to check some of his shit he already got and was "buggin" why he didnt choose that joint to make the album...i remember reading it...anyway i think theres def a thing about which beat an artist will choose but dre will only have so many options to give a nigga, if something truly amazing was there, best believe snoop would have chosen it, nobody know dres sound better than snoop....but also dre needs energy and inspiration when making beats, something he gets when he works with new cats more often...and right now he sound is not inspired at all, this aint about people who are choosing his beats, its about dre not having the fire right now...dre at his peak would give you options and everyone of them would be fire....right now his either saving his best shit for himself or we have yet to hear it...i have faith in doc dre....

I don't see why some of you are hating on the beat. It's simple? Hell yes, but so what? It fits the concept of the song. In my opinion, there's no need for an explosive beat with all kinds of effects.
Hopefully the KamPain mixtape will drop soon 8)

i really like the piano on this Kam song, the drums are not as tight to me, but it works still. good strings.
anyway, the key to round here is the vocal cooing that goes along with the main chord progression, it comes and goes throughout the song when the song builds tension...once you hear that melody happening, the song never lacks again. at least that was my impression.

And while Snoop, Nas, Jay-Z, Buck got those leftovers lets say "unfinished beats", Im predicting that 50, D12 and Stat Quo will have those better beats lets say "very close to Detox sound, beats that didnt make the cut."
Inspiration is also an interesting point, its obvious that Bishop Lamont is the first guy after Snoop and Eminem thats giving Dre that feeling back, I still think that if it wasnt for him Detox would never drop.

hopefully we see some heat from him soon, cuz i aint really heard a banger from dre in a minute....and he has not released a real hit single since outta control remix....though the missy/busta joint would have blown up....even if it was generic, it would have smashed clubs

Dunno, just by listening to Bishops interviews, he even got Dre to go to youtube lol, plus Rebel told it several times and hes legit. Ever since he was singed I have a feeling Dre got his hunger back.
Yeah 50, Game, Busta and Stat are close too but none of them are his true proteges imo, just artists signed to the label.

Nah man i think Game was one of dres best protoges he reps compton dres hometown and he has that hard edge like ice cube and he represents the whole west coast. Game gave dre that energy to bring the west back and dres sound was hot when they were making the documentary even that track with mary j blige was a sick new piano sound he brought to the table all the chords and strings and shit. But i think bishop and dre will have some good shit coming up though.

I disagree, even if you look at the quality of the beats: Westside Story was pretty much an old mix of Still D.R.E. and In Da Club, Higher was like lil different version of Outta Control, Hpw We Do was great, Start From Scratch was dope but again sounded like 2001 leftover and that Mary track was garbage imo. Boring beat.
And lets not forget that after 3 years of Game being on Aftermath, Dre basically gave him to 50 to promote and market him.

gotta say that yea, 'Murder Dem Murderers' has grown on me a whole lot since i first heard it the other day. The beat fits perfectly, cant help but think it would be even better with Snoop on it too. Got the feeling that this new record The Self/Self & Kind or woteva its gonna be called will be str8 fire from front2back, or so im hoping. Kam rarely disappoints me

i been listening to his old records lately cuz off this song, they all are fire, he shud make his next cd & mixtape as good as his old records.
I personally like Made In America the most, fuckin G-Funk beats with Warren G, Battlecat, DJ Quik, E-A-Ski etc. on the boards. Man that album is a G-Funk classic, i love his flow on these older songs as well.

so he wasn't saying it was shit so much as he was saying he felt snoop could bring more depth lyrically, which is true.
then snoop after that talked shit about eminem in the round here discussion in one of the 5 parts to Nima's latest snoop interview iirc.
furthermore, i doubt snoop is upset now if he ain't yet. are there any bishop/snoop songs yet? or any dpg/bishop collabs yet?

there have been unconfirmed rumors that at concerts snoop's said (recently) "this ain't that pill poppin eminem shit..." or some such comments.
It just pisses me off, cause the one song they did together was dope and I'd like to see more, and shit like this makes it seem less likely for the near future.
