That's right! Back at you with the latest edition of Crooked I's "Hip-Hop Weekly" series, volume 7 to be exact! This time around, Crooked chose the beat to 8Ball & MJG's "Crusin'", as well as the recently leaked Just Blaze instrumental, which is supposed to be from T.I.'s upcoming album, called "Just The King".

Download below:

Crooked I - Crusin' / Just The King (Freestyle) (http://www.dubcnm.com/audio/2007/may/crooked_i-crusin_just_the_king_freestyle-(dubcnn).mp3)

Check back next week for the next edition of Crooked I's "Hip-Hop Weekly" and remember we now have the Official Crooked I Hip-Hop Weekly archive section (http://www.dubcnn.com/media/hiphopweekly/) where you can keep up to date with each weekly installment as it drops.

Had a feeling i was gonna like this, since it's 2 beats and 2 artists/groups that i love ;D

His flow on cruzin is  :o

2nd beat is a classic, but not really a beat that Crooked fits well. He drops some nice lines on it though as well

Fits somewere in the middle of the 7 freestyles.

why this dude doesn't have a legit full length on the shelves i do not know ... but if he makes 7 more of these it'll be 14 trackz total and those combined would be the best westcoast album in a while ... they wanna talk "hits", crooked can spit over anything ... literally ... my fav. gotta be when he smashed on DMX  8) kurupt & crooked ... X didn't even waste his time trying to defend his punk ass, he got smashed in his lifetime by 2 west coast legends ... he killed that dpg "vibe wit a bo$$" too ... i can't wait to get home to hear that week 7  8) ... i don't know why snoop wont fuck with him, i still disagree with snoop for dissing him in that 4 part a few months back especially after crooked had just stated that he wanted that all behind him and he wanted to get that paper by any means nessesary ... but snoop is "still" the bigg dogg and is definitely my favorite rapper still ... but that's just me  8)

I like the tracks and I make sure to download the new one each week, but does anyone outside of the west coast or on these forums even know Crook is dropping these? Seems like if he's not pushing for attention, all of these freestyles might be in vain.

He needs clearence from his label to drop an album, which he doesn't have. If he was independant, which I think he should be anyways, then he could release something.

www.hiphopgame.com is always putting them up, and from my understanding there a huge hip-hop site, mostly visited by N.Y. cats

Seems like a lot of non members check out the forums as there were 12 members and 96 guests on at the time I looked, but neither the front page or the forums had any mentioning of Crook's hip hop weekly since the new one dropped yesterday. Seems like they are just putting it up because it's hip hop, not because Crook is trying to promote himself. Props to Crook for doing this because it is a unique idea and he obviously kills it everytime, but it seems like he thinks just dropping audio will get the job done. I'm not gonna sit here and act like I could do it better, but if I was him, I'd hit up all these sites and make sure it's featured in plain sight for at least a day or two. That's just my two cents.

Oh yeah State property rollin with C.O.B

fyi, Crook lived in Philly for a short stint (this was when he left LBC as a youngster)... i remember reading an old article from way back when he first signed to Death Row and he said that his lyricism & battle rap style was developed in the streets of Philly... he cites his earliest lyrical influences as East Coast vets like KRS-One, Rakim, Public Enemy, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane.

it also should come as no surprise that Kurupt was born in Philly and lived there a short time as a young cat before moving to Cali... and he definitely inherited that East Coast lyricism & battle rap style as well.

i also know that Crook personally knows Beanie Sigel, Freeway & Cassidy from his days in Philly.  Kurupt is also tight with these cats as well.  now it's got me thinking that Crook, Kurupt, Beans, Freeway & Cassidy need to do an "East meets West" track together in the near future.  that'd be  :o :o 8) 8)

cool little post dog, props

ain't big beans or freeway, but kurupt, crooked, and cassidy on the same track would be :o :o :o
