Post by: GangstaBoogy on June 17, 2007, 01:42:07 PM
I'm sure everyone has heard by now, there's is rumored to be a video of Kobe bashing Andrew Bynum and Mitch Cupcake. Whoever these guys are, they're going all out to make sure people see it...

www.thekobevideo.com
www.myspace.com/thekobevideo
www.youtube.com/KobeVideo

This shiet better be good. The last time I patiently waited for a video to leak it turned out to be a boring waste of time.

Apparently Kobe has posted again on his website that he wants out.

And i will not be surprised in the least if the video is real, as he already has implied he doesn't respect Kupchak or Bynum.   And yes 7even, NIK will STILL think it is all Shaq's fault.

"Andrew Bynum? What the f---?" Bryant says in disgust. "Are you kidding me? Andrew Bynum? F---ing ship his ass out. Are you kidding me? We're talking about Jason Kidd. But they didn't even want to do that. Now we're here in this f---ed up position."

The tandem then asked Bryant what he thought about Bynum's potential. Bryant smiled and started to shake his head as if he was about to go on another tirade.

"You know what man? Let me tell you something. Mitch Kupchak had the nerve to ask me..."

At this point the 24-second video clip ends abruptly and we are left to wonder what Bryant says next. "The Kobe Video Guys" say that Bryant went on to say, "How good do you think Andrew Bynum is going to be in 10 years? Are you f---ing kidding me? I'm trying to win this s--- now."

Wow thats what those fuckers are making us wait for? Fuck this video!

Who gives a shit about this...These muthafuckaz claimed that someone offered them $100,000 for it...If that's true, they are RETARDED for not selling it. This nonsense is wayyyy blown out of proportion. They already said exactly what was on the video, and it's nothing we haven't heard from Kobe...PeACe

Kobe Bryant’s Critical Video

kobe-bryant-video-criticism1.gifI had to see it for myself. For no other reason than curiosity’s sake and, to be honest, an all-too-tempting meeting location near Diddy Riese, the legendary cookie store in Westwood, Calif.

I’m here to see the infamous “Kobe Video,” which has taken the world by storm it seems. The 24-second video clip was shot in late May, a few days before Kobe Bryant went public with his trade demands on national radio. It catches Bryant criticizing Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak for not pulling off a mid-season trade that would have sent Andrew Bynum to the New Jersey Nets for Jason Kidd.

“It’s been crazy,” says Ron, who introduces himself as a representative of “The Kobe Video Guys,” a couple of college-aged guys who talk to Bryant in the video but wish to remain anonymous in fear of the backlash they might get from Lakers fans. “Everyone wants to see it.”

I meet Ron, who appears to be just out of college himself, wearing a backpack and nervously looking around, inside of a nearby bookstore. “Let’s go upstairs,” he says, being followed by two well-built dudes who he jokingly (I think) calls his bodyguards. “I don’t want anyone else watching.”

He then pulls out a laptop from his backpack and places the computer in front of me and hands over a set of headphones. “Are you ready?” he asks after I put the headphones on. “Here it is.”

The video, which was taken on a digital camera by a friend who was taking pictures of Bryant talking to the two inquisitive fans, begins with Bryant, standing in front of the Newport Coast Shopping Center and wearing a red shirt and sunglasses. He is talking about the trade that the Lakers reportedly turned down last season that would have brought Kidd to the Lakers for Bynum.

“Andrew Bynum? What the f—?” Bryant says in disgust. “Are you kidding me? Andrew Bynum? F—ing ship his ass out. Are you kidding me? We’re talking about Jason Kidd. But they didn’t even want to do that. Now we’re here in this f—ed up position.”

The tandem then asked Bryant what he thought about Bynum’s potential. Bryant smiled and started to shake his head as if he was about to go on another tirade.

“You know what man? Let me tell you something. Mitch Kupchak had the nerve to ask me…”

At this point the 24-second video clip ends abruptly and we are left to wonder what Bryant says next. “The Kobe Video Guys” say that Bryant went on to say, “How good do you think Andrew Bynum is going to be in 10 years? Are you f—ing kidding me? I’m trying to win this s— now.”

A week later the duo again ran into Bryant in Newport Beach, after he had made his trade demands public, and pulled out a cell phone and recorded one of them telling Bryant, “Please tell us you’re staying.” Bryant responded by saying, “Get a Bulls uniform fellas.”

As I walked out of the bookstore after watching and listening to the combined 30 seconds of footage, I had the same response most probably had after watching Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton and their far more tantalizing forays into voyeurism.

“That’s it?”

“The Kobe Video Guys” claim they chatted up Bryant for about 15 minutes and he talked about his desire to play with Ron Artest and how he could keep him in check if he were in Los Angeles. He also hoped the Lakers could make a deal for Jermaine O’Neal in the off-season, which made it seem like he wanted to remain with the Lakers at the time, but we are only left to imagine what that must have sounded like as he stood in the parking lot in front of the Sharky’s Mexican Grill.

While the “Kobe Video Guys” say they feel the public has a right to see the video, only time will tell when and if that will actually happen. After unsuccessfully peddling the clip to different media organizations, including ESPN and Basketball News, the group set up a website, thekobevideo.com, where they plan on showing it for a $1.99 fee. As is usually the case with these fly-by-night endeavors, however, there is a catch.

They claim to have turned down a private party’s offer of $100,000 to buy the rights to the video so that it can be destroyed. They say the private party is not connected with Bryant or the Lakers (although they did unsuccessfully contact the team to gauge their interest) but is just a big fan with deep pockets who doesn’t want to see Bryant’s image with the Lakers tarnished. It seems a little late in the game for that, but never-the-less, the group claims they turned down the sure-fire money and decided to set up the web site in the hopes of recouping the six-figure offer the hard way by making it public.

In a perfect example of wanting to have their cake and eating it too, they will not show the video to their customers until they reach the designated threshold of 50,000 orders to recoup the $100,000 private party offer they turned down. If the threshold is not met, they say they will refund all their orders and sell it to the private party, who sounds just dumb enough to buy it again despite the contents of the footage already being public.

The interesting part is that Kobe is basically criticizing Mitch and the Lakers organization because they didn't trade Bynum for Kidd.
In this forum i was one of the few ones who was down with it.
While most people (NIK) who're now taking Kobe's side said that to trade Bynum for Kidd was moronic.

Doh.

lol, Nik is notoriously known for flipping and twisting things to make the Lakers look good. Now, as the trade didn't go through because of Laker management and Bynum was still a Laker, of course he was down with the decision of not moving him. Now that Kobe has been publicly and explicitly calling out Mitch, Dr. Buss and shit, and Kobe is higher in Nik's "Laker-hierarchy", he's down with Kobe.

Note that this also explains how he goes from calling the Lakers contenders to D-League-players and Kobe.

I was down with it too ( not gonna waste time to research my posts) .. once again it was a risky trade but fuck it I'd have take the risk.. once again this kid won't be an allstar type of player, just trade him when he has a huge value..

I'm only down to trade him so we can keep Kobe and win now...I still think whatever team gets him will be EXTREMELY lucky (if he ends up traded).

PS. Artest is STILL an all-star and former DPOY...PeACe

It is moronic...But Kobe doesn't understand value. He wants to win now. This is not the main thing upsetting him. Mitch passed up on offers where we woulda been able to trade/sign great players for practically nothing TO SAVE CAP SPACE.

Everything I say has logic behind it. You're clearly a bitter hater with a choking team. I never flipped or twisted anything. Lakers looked like they were amongst the elite in December. They fell apart and looked like a D-League team by May...EVERYONE can see this besides you. Kobe is calling out the FO because he wants to win now. How can I NOT be down with that? This is gunna push the FO to do all that is possible for us to win...You lose....PeACe

You're keep repeating this thing from a while. The suspicious thing is that you're only doing it AFTER Kobe started to request a trade. AFTER. Before you was always supporting Mitch and his project.

^^BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW KOBE AND PHIL'S REQUESTS WERE BEING SHUT DOWN LEFT AND RIGHT. I DIDNT KNOW THE FO WASNT TRYNA WIN NOW. I DIDNT KNOW KOBE WAS BEING USED!!...What don't you get? It's not that hard...Kobe doesn't need to "shut the fuck up". He carried this franchise on his back for the past couple years... If you had any respect for him, you'd understand his position. Kobe signed a contract which he was tricked into. He was told the Lakers were building a contender at all costs. He doesn't wanna play on a mediocre rebuilding team while he's in his prime (Buss admitted to Phil he was rebuilding and saving cap space, after he told Kobe he was gunna win at all costs so that Kobe would re-sign with the Lakers!). Kobe on the Knicks would DOMINATE the east (despite the fact that he never claimed to wanna play there, you're naive ass just keeps believing what you read in the media :stupid:)...Make sense, Antonio. It is clear that you have NO CLUE what's going on up there in Italy...PeACe

^^^^ I've always told the FO decisions were weak for 3 years... Mitch and Jim Buss aren't the men we need in their post.. no risk taken in 3 years or no blockbuster trades .. they just did trades of drafts here and there to maintain us at an average level.. On the other hand, Kobe had to put pressure on the FO but he did it the wrong ways... our future didn't look bright at all.....

Lol, Ok, if you can't see that Kobe is building a great gap between him and the organization and that the whole world is laughing about this situation, fine. I can't wait for the next time Kobe opens his mouth again. I'm dead serious. It is great entertainment. I'm also inclined to see the FO do some stupid trades just to keep Kobe. This is a very promising off-season.

NIK i can't accept you criticizing Mitch for past (non) trades. The homie wcsoldier did it the whole season (and the season before). I criticized Mitch when we traded Brown for Butler. Shit i even criticized him when he traded Jones for a 2nd round draft pick (and you supported it. But now all of a sudden it's a proof the FO didn't want to win, LMAO). Some pees criticized him because he drafted Bynum and not a player ready to contribute from his first day. You, on the other hand, never EVER criticized Mitch, BUT THE PEOPLE WHO WERE BEING SKEPTIKAL ABOUT THE LAKERS PLAN. You called us "unloyal" fans. You dissed half of us because we didn't believe in Mitch. You called us "fake fans" because we thought the team wasn't going in the right direction (while you were calling Lakers "contenders"). Now you can't, all of a sudden, change everything. Get it. YOU (i repeat: YOU) made a mistake trusting Mitch. I'm closer to Kobe's frustation than you. The homie wcsoldier is closer to Kobe's frustation than you. We just don't approve the way he made it public, cause maybe there in L.A. where you like it's different, but in the whole world people are thinking about Ray Allen's infamous interview from back in the days and are calling out Kobe as an unloyal bitch. But it's fine, you obviously don't care. You already predicted it, and you're always right. Fine. But please, don't EVER act like you know everything, cause YOU (i repeat: YOU) made the big mistake. Should i call you a "fake fan" now?

Antonio, you're acting moronic, dude...I never agreed with trading Butler for Kwame (this is in the history of the board). I was EXCITED about the pending trade of Butler for Boozer (this is in the history of the board). I was initially upset when the Lakers drafted Bynum (this is in the history of the board). I was EXCITED when we were about to sign Baron Davis. I HATED the Kareem Rush trade etc. etc....YOURE MISSING THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT, SON. I was ALWAYS under the impression that we were doing everything we can to win now, regardless of whether I liked the moves or not. I still had faith in our team to take what we have and win with it, especially with Kobe and Phil...Only when Kobe revealed it have I learned of the reasons we passed up on these numerous offers and signing. TO SAVE CAP SPACE. If your head wasn't so far up your ass, you'd realize this. When Kobe signed the contract, he was promised a contending team, NOT A REBUILDING TEAM. Phil Jackson, however, was told of a plan to rebuild and save cap space WHEN HE SIGNED. KOBE ONLY FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS WHEN PHIL TOLD HIM 1 MONTH AGO. SO that's where the problem comes in, little Tony. Kobe was lied to. He did everything he can to carry this organization on his back, and the owner didn't even have a relationship with him! KOBE DIDNT EVEN HAVE HIS NUMBER OR KNOW WHERE HE WAS! What Kobe and Phil wanted never mattered...Buss had his mind made up, and he wasn't gunna change a thing. He's fine with gambling away the money Kobe makes him, Buss was a happy man. Kobe wasn't, and he was gunna do everything in his power to win...If Kobe shuts up, he's another KG...WHAT DONT YOU SEE ABOUT THAT? KOBE IS NOT KG, HE WANTS TO WIN NOW, AND HE HAS BUSS BY THE NECK, DEMANDING A WINNER...THATS WHAT I WANT. 8)

Hello, I'm sure many of you read Arash's piece on the Kobe Video. He was 1 of only 2 people who saw it. He also claimed he heard the audio clip they have. He writes in his article:

A week later the duo again ran into Bryant in Newport Beach, after he had made his trade demands public, and pulled out a cell phone and recorded one of them telling Bryant, "Please tell us you're staying." Bryant responded by saying, "Get a Bulls uniform fellas." As I walked out of the bookstore after watching and listening to the combined 30 seconds of footage

Now I am friends with the Kobe Video Guys and they told me Arash NEVERRR EVER heard the audio, after all they claim the audio itself is 20 seconds long and if he heard it Arash would have written about the F bombs he also drops on Dr. Buss which is on the audio, something that has never been heard before by any media outlet. Arash Markazi is a fraud. He consciously constructed lies throughout his piece. How can he say he heard the "COMBINED" footage, when the combined footage is over 44 seconds long, yet he claims its only 30. Either Arash is a liar or a junior high dropout who can't do MATH! I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and grant him the former. Arash has betrayed all norms of journalistic proffessionalism. He claimed he heard something which he did not, and lied about how long the thing he never heard was. Once the audio is released and everyone of you sees its over 20 seconds long, you can all remember it was Arash Markazi of SI who lied.

Arash called his article "Underground Kobe film ain't all it's cracked up to be." Maybe its his lies that arent all they are cracked up to be. The oppurtunist and fraudster probably figured with my lies I can get press box seats at the lakers games.

PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO BEWARE OF THIS FRAUDSTER! THIS WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING. THIS LIAR PARADING AROUND AS A JOURNALIST!

what a waste of hype, just like I predicted...The videos real, the audio sounds fake. Listen to the voice in the video, then the voice in the audio (which was conveniently low)...PeACe
