Post by: Invincible on June 18, 2007, 07:43:02 PM
Here is the new track from Chamillionaire with Slick Rick. Its only the clean version i'm afraid though.

It's not bad. Might be a grower.

LOL, I just popped in to post this myself and saw this thread at the top of the board.  Props.

Is this Cham's single?

I gotta say, Cham has got some sick flows.  I'm really feelin that shit.  He actually rides the fuckin beat.  Like I've been sayin, flowin on time is beyond crucial if I'm gonna take a rapper seriously.  Cham has no problems in that area.  Plus he can actually compose a song with a central theme, a hook that works in w/ the theme and spit some good verses w/ airtight flows.  He's not just lazily spittin random punchlines over and over.

And please don't even get me started on how dope it is that he's puttin Slick Rick on.  That shows me that he respects Hip Hop.

Good song overall, excellent song for a mainstream rapper to drop.  I'll be real interested to see what other joints he drops.

yeh cham can flow, but i cant stand him for some reason. if i never saw him at the BET awards i might respect him, he just seems like a fucking weasel.

slick rick is dope, it would be better as a slick rick track.

Wow, thats a great track. Cham just killed it, same with Slick Rick and J.R. did a great job on the production tip.

Only thing that bothers me is that Cham probably made this with "lets make Ridin Dirty part 2" but he damn sure pulled it off. Not your typical 2nd single and it shits on that wack joint with Kelis.

Definetly gonna have this on repeat for a while.

EDIT: Beat has some elements of Cali Vacation.

If its cuss-free, he better write some shit instead of blanking words out. Anyone with half a brain can figure out what rappers say if they follow the context.

But yeah, this song is tight as fuck. It gets better everytime I listen to it.

damn, you guys who lose respect for a rapper who doesnt swear in his raps is pretty lame.
Cham can rap his ass off like no other, who cares if he uses swear words. in my opinion its even better if he deosnt use swear words since he'll have to be more creative and not use the same old words that everyone rapper uses. it aint like hes will smith or something and sucks at rappin, cham's flow is HARD.

great song, lookin forward to Ultimate Victory, too bad it got pushed back.

You're right. Cus "Murray's Revenge" was one of the best albums last year, and there was not one cuss word in that cd.

Not cussing is not the problem, censoring the songs by blanking [explicit] out just to look "caring" is...

Yeah, if he makes songs without cusswords ok, that;s cool. But not fuck up the cd by fading out the cusswords. I bought a Streetz Iz A Mutha clean-version once (didn't know it was, it says nowhere it's the clean edition) and i can't listen for 1 minute to it.

DiggChamillionaire Promises “No Profanity” on New Album
Artist: Chamillionaire Amid the media assault on hip hop, artist Chamillionaire has stepped forward as the first rapper “ditch the bitch”.

The 27 year old Houston emcee has never been widely known to be particularly vulgar, but the move completely omit all curse words may come as a surprise to some, “On my new album I don’t say the word nigga, I don’t curse nowhere on my whole album,” Chamillionaire told AllHipHop.com. “People are not even gonna know it. I guarantee if I don’t go out and say it in the media they’re not even gonna realize that. People go back and listen to all of my old mixtapes and don’t even realize that I wasn’t even doing all that type of stuff. I was saying nigga, but I wasn’t saying the ‘f’ word or the ‘b’ word. I was never saying those types of things…I hear that so much and it restricts your creativity and how far it can go.”

Chamillionaire is most known for his multi plantinum album “The Sound Of Revenge” that featured a Grammy winning single “Ridin Dirty”. Chamillionaire recently released “I’m Not A Criminal” featuring Kelis, Snoop Dogg & Busta Rhymes. The emcee hopes taking this step will be a step in bridging the generational gap between the hip hop community and its critics. “I don’t get caught up in the actual ‘This word is bad’ because with everything you take away there’s gonna be something there to replace it,” Chamillionaire told AllHipHop.com. “Everybody needs to focus their direction on these younger kids that are looking at them. If we help raise them right this is gonna be the new generation and this new generation is gonna be more like me maybe and just don’t curse or brag about being a gangster.”

Well, the track is dope, but it could have been doper..

* J.R. have produced better beats than that, even though it's pretty cool.

* Koopa should have changed his voice to a greater extent when impersonating the police officer, to further differentiate between himself and the officer.
A man responsible for the imitation-rollercoaster "Roll Call Reloaded" could do better..

* Slick Rick should have came in earlier in the track, preferably going back and forth with Koopa on a verse or two.
Should also have done his "It's a bloody murder" line on all the hooks.

Lol something like that, the worst part is when Nate sings the hook on Neva Gonna Give It Up and they fade out some words it fucks up his singing (and with it the whole song  :-\ ) and the beat.

Or the song Your Gyrlfriend, when Daz sings You know that i know that your girlfriend is my *explicit*.

Fuck that. Here is a part of the song and imagine listening to it and then all the explicit words gets faded out including a part of the beat (rea unprofessional imo).

Shut the [explicit] up [explicit],
Eat a [explicit] [explicit],
Eat a bowl of [explicit] [explicit],
Munch on a mouthful of [explicit], in the halls and malls
Just shut the [explicit] up [explicit] and work your jaws.
Take a pill[explicit], chill [explicit].
Jerk your jaws.
Beat the [explicit] in then jerk the walls.
I seen that [explicit] last week it's like this,
What a [explicit] [explicit] [explicit], he still love the [explicit].

That's pretty bad, but nothing is worse than the clean version of Too Short ft. Ice Cube - Ain't Nothin' But A Word To Me. They don't fade out the cussing, they add an annoying bleep. One of the choruses is entirely bleeped out because Short is saying "bitch" in the background. It's so bad, it's almost funny.

Yeah it's unprofessional, they better make new lyrics or something and say "Girl" instead of "Bitch" that's really fucked up. I wouldn't even bought the album but it nowhere says it's a clean version.
