Tha Dogg Pound has signed with Cash Money. For more and future updates keep checking the website www.thadoggpound.com and/or www.dpgrecordz.com
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
-
how u know this breezy??
EDIT: I just checked the site lol
-
i could kill them right now. cash money... CASH MONEY? the worst attempt at a hip hop label i've ever heard.
-
This could actually really be great for Tha Dogg Pound.
The rapper out right now with the most buzz is Lil Wayne. He could be all over some DPG songs, and vice-versa. Plus they still got Mack 10 over there.....just signed Glasses Malone.....Birdman ofcourse (for what that's worth lol), but this could really open some doors!

I agree it's a good look for the west mainstream wise...but i still am surprised...u think they'd be happy 2 be independent...i mean, daz just got fucked over at a major not 2 long ago...I would love to see CM drop dpg, mack 10, malone albums, but it seems 2 good 2 be true
-
Well lets see what happens. People were ehh on Daz with So So Def and we all know how that turned out. They don't have shit to lose if they keep they sound DPG throughout. It's on a major so it could work. If it does not, they just go back to selling indie albums. Snoop had been working on this deal for a minute as far as Kurupt so like I said earlier this had been talked about for a while.
-
that would be dope if they did a 'super group' album with dpg, glasses, and mack 1-0.... that would be some crazy shit

Yeah it would. And I am sure Mack and Glasses co-signed on this deal. If they trying to do a Cash Money West I am all for it if it is done properly.

ya if a Cash Money West is done the right away it can be dope
-
..........zzzzzzzzzzzzz ....all about the $$$. Anyone care about Tha Pound anymore?
-
i am having a laugh at that post where that dude screamed "NOOOOOOOOOOO"....
not laughing at you, but save that reaction for some REAL traumatic shit... not for the pound finding a music company that is willing to pay them for their work..
-
what i dont get is..Aint Snoop Dogg CEO of Doggystyle Records? so I do not get why he didnt try to find a good distributor for Tha Dogg Pound and Doggystyle instead of going Under other labels like that, im sure one day I'll hear, "Tha Dogg Pound Signed with Bad Boy" i know this will happen one day!
-
Here is the dubcnn update:
We've just got word that Tha Dogg Pound, consiting of Daz and Kurupt have aligned with Baby and Slim to release the next Dogg Pound album "West Coast Aftershock" on Cash Money Records. Here is a quote from Kurupt concerning the deal: "It's official! Me and Daz just got off the phone with Baby, Slim & Snoop. West Coast Aftershocc nigga!"
Keep it locked on dubcnn for the latest info concerning this deal and the upcoming DPG projects!
-
I think as long as they don't sound like a CM release and it is a better distributor, it is a good deal.
-
Malone has suggested a Western Region tour with them... that would be cool.
-
It´s a good deal for DPG but I hope that Daz and Kurupt do not collaborate with the artist of the label
-
^ ^
you mean you dont want to see Bling Bling part 2? Whats wrong with you?
-
You dont know how good this could be for cash money cuz daz is a beat maker and he could be in house for them shit this could be a new era remember after dre left and even before who made all the beats for death row
-
Who do you want to see as Features on this album?

Kurupt and Daz doing mate exchange with Lil Wang and Birdbrain. Cash Money is dead. They should have just signed to gay-unit a year ago (or was it two?).

Exacly, they werent doing anything anyways, lets be real.
This oculd be a great oppurtunaty to finaly get some real shine again.
Im not a big fan of Wayne and Baby slim but still Wayne gets mad play right now and you also got a veteran like Mack 10 who's worked with dpg and sounded great along with the new cat G malone.
-
money money money moooneyy mooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnneyyyyyyyyyy

That is for Daz's solo work. I am sure he will keep his label and just do DPG projects on CM.
-
it could be a good deal for them if they are gonna get something mainstream but keeping it dpg
i just hope ther isnt a collabo with lil wayne and baby

why does anybody care?
let's just see how it turns out, I'd rather see them with Cash Money than with Snoop Dogg calling some lame shots on their behalf

cause i dont realy like theyre indi stuff much.. it's lacking that clear crisp sound..
hopefully this is the begining of great things to come..

Yepp. No hate from me, do it big DPG.
-
We'll see what happens. Sounds bad, but could be hit or miss. Who knaows, may turn out to be a good move!
-
this shit gone be like mack 10 all over again, when r they gonna learn, west coast artist dont belong on Cash money.
why the fuck is malone following mack 10 and cash money, damn its ashame.
one word: FLOP
-
i am having a laugh at that post where that dude screamed "NOOOOOOOOOOO"....

lol word
-
No hate from me...........as long as DPG is still releasin' "Dogg Pound" albums its all love from here.
And whats wrong with the DPG tryin' to get some mainstream exposure..........?
-
Everyone on this site should be happy for them. Day in and day out around here, all I see is people bitching about the west coast not being respected. Cash Money comes along and gives DPG the opportunity to release a project to a broader area than just the west coast and everyone starts whining about it. All I can say is WHAT THE FUCK?! Does everyone here want the west coast to stay stagnant and continue to release albums that barely push 20k? Those are mixtape numbers! Cash Money did a great job keeping Mack 10's albums west coast and I'm sure they will do the same with the DPG.
I for one am glad DPG is making moves to keep their name relevant and maybe get some radio play some place else other than in Cali. Congrats to them.
-
DPG fans are the most confused fans... Ya'll all hated on "Cali Iz Active" for being too commercial...
WTF do you think this album is going to sound like?
-
birdman will bee kissin' daz 8)
-
The 1st sign of the apocalypse.... ::)
-
Not hating but maybe its what they need for anyone besides their followers to give a fuck about them anymore and for them to sell more than 20,000 records. Plus Cash Moneys west roster now shits on most other labels besides the obvious ones.
-
lol they're still trying??? it's retirement time for them dudes 8)
-
nah they still got talent and if they can all get their heads on str8 and concentrate on just this one project then I think they could get some shine back........
That means Daz, Kurupt, Snoop, etc., whoever is workin' on this project needs to really step their game up.........do it for the true DPG fans..........
-
not surprised atthis kurupt has been cool with cash money for a while, pretty sure at one point there was talk of his solo album going through cash money.
Dont know how this will affect the dpg sound, id rather they went the dogg chitt, dillinger young gotti route than cali iz active.
-
they better watch their money though, Baby seems to fuck over anybody he comes across
-

Im sure DPG wont let any1 pull a Suge on them...........they been there done that.........
-
first of all I'm down with this move. Just to put that out there.
but everyone keeps talkin bout Weezys killin the game right now and has all the buzz, but you gotta think about if he's still gonna be as hot and not played out when the DPG album drops. We're talking about like late 2008. Daz is still going to drop 2 solo albums, then Kurupts solo is gonna drop and as of right now word is that Westcoast Aftershocc is going to drop in early 2008, and we all know how accurate release dates are...so actually we're talking about mid-late 2008 for this album release. Will Weezy still have a hot buzz??
what ya'll think..
-
Weeze is a young dude and has some years left on his stardom life...he should be ok unless some more damaging stuff arises ...... like that "kissing" stuff
-

In 2004 Kurupt said the Riflemen album might be under Cash Money.

or all those drugs he be taking take affect.
-
I think the Dog Pound will be ok with Cash Money. Some of Cash Money music was str8, like Baller Blocking track featuring E-40 and some of the Mack 10's bang or ball songs was pretty good. Kurupt still has flow for the most part and Daz is still gangsta on the beats!!! They will be fine.
West Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
i think its a good move, get them papers!
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
LMMFAO!!
-
Like Daz said "It'z All About That Money". But on the real, i hope they get some shine, make a bangin album & still keep it West Coast!
-
(http://www.ugrap.de/forum/images/smiles/sad.gif)
Hopefully they'll at least keep their sound westcoast :(
