i think what you can tell mostly from this album is that 9th has taken some peoples criticisms into account, as far as his drums etc, in that he's showing a bit more diversity when it comes to his snares, and his general drum patterns, its still trademark 9th but you can hear evolution in his sound...
as far as the tracks, im feeling:
Shots (gotta love Sean P!)
Merchant of Dreams (all the mc's rip it)
Brooklyn In My Mind (a lotta people i saw werent feeling this, i dig it, thought it was dope to hear Bleek on the same track as Mos/Jean)
Baking Soda (not the best beat, but Big Treal has a dope swagger imo and some slick lines)
Reminisce (Remo owns this track, nice laid back beat, well-known sample)
No Time To Chill (the LB track, beat caught me off a little at first, but Pooh and moreso Tay are both dope mc's who just seem to get better everytime i hear them, Tays last few bars killed it for me)
It Aint Over (Jozeemo brings something different to the Justus League, and he can spit...dope beat too...Tyler Woods is one of the artists 9th is working with, seems like a decent enough dude to handle choruses etc, but he aint touching Darien Brockington imo)
The Last Time (royce is dope, dunno too much about the other dudes but decent track...had my head nodding now and then)
Saved (im a big Saigon fan, his flow on this track is dope, another of the kinda laid back beats, same snoop vocal sample as D'evils, dope track all in all)
Let It Bang (ive had this track for about 2 years, but it had some shitty DJ Thoro shouts through it, so its good to finally hear it without all the bullshit...dope beat, real head nod material...skyzoo has some nice lines on this, but for me its Ness who really owned the track...him and 9th seem to have a good chemistry, shame their album will never see the light of day)
What Makes A Man (Big Pooh is someone who i feel gets unfairly criticised, but when your in a group alongside Phonte its gotta be tough...Tay imo is possibly the best MC out right now...but Pooh never fails to impress me, and this is no different...Buddy Klein is a so-so MC, not touching Pooh on this track...nice feel to the beat too, more head nod material)
another dope thing in this album, is that at the end of a few of the tracks, there are interludes with a girl spitting over some chopped up classic 9th beats, her name is rhapsody and she's another of the artists 9th is trying to bring through, has a kinda jean grae feel to her, we'll see whether she can touch jean when she gets some songs out...
all in all i think the album has some definite replay value, the tracks that i mentioned are all tracks i think standout on the album, the ones i didnt mention didnt do anything for me, but ive only listened to the album a couple of times, so my opinions may change...but def. worth the download if you like 9th/Justus League shit... 8)
