-
lmfao, one of my fav uses for them is strangling people but besides that, their cool to get wet and plug into electrical outlets.
-
when you wrap it up it's better to do big loops b/c when people make tight loops thats when it get kinked. If you do big loops you can just toss it out and and it will be good to go.

the ones with the drop lights (http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/media/TN-ALR-TL25GM.jpg) come in handy when you in basement crawl space cleaning out a main sewer (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/steven.rougier/sewer/jetting2.jpg) I once had my arm all the way down in a pit like that with my face a inch from the water. That was the happiest day of my life. But you clean a main sewer with a 300 (http://i10.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/bd/1b/27bc_1.JPG)

LMAO off at this whole thread.

The good ol' extension cord came thru for me on Saturday. It was a surprisingly warm day on Saturday, so I decided to BBQ. However, halfway thru ,my fire got too cold so I needed to buy more coals. Long story short, with my late start to B.B.Q.'ing and the run to the store, it was getting dark outside. With no backyard light at my house, and a lamp from my washroom, u know who came into play n plug. That's right, my extension cord, with its sleek and rather long self squirming its way to the lamp that I posted upon my BBQ pit. This beers for you extension cord, with much love!

A HUSBAND who used an electrical cord to stimulate his wife during a night of "bizarre sex" allegedly gave her a deadly shock.
Toby Taylor first said his 29-year-old wife, Kirsten, was shocked by a hair dryer. But when police found burns on her body, Mr Taylor told police that he had clipped an electrical cord to his wife and plugged it into a power strip which he then turned on and off, the Associated Press reported.
Mrs Taylor was found unconscious on Thursday night at the couple's Pennsylvanian home. She was taken to York Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Mr Taylor, 37, who was jailed yesterday on $133,733 bail for involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment charges, reportedly told authorities that he had used the technique on his wife in the past.
York Country coroner Barry Bloss said it was a case of "bizarre sex".
"I have never seen anything like this," Mr Bloss said.
"Even if you did it before, you have to know you could kill someone.''
Police chief, David Sterner, said Mrs Taylor was thought to have died from a heart attack caused by an electric shock.
Further testing of the electrical equipment and a toxicology test will determine the exact cause, he said.

are you actually saying you don't support the festive glee of smothering your house in colorful lights during december? i live for that crisp fall/winter transitional period where I uncoil the extension cords and make my way to the roof to set up a cornucopia of multi colored flashing bulbs that represent my love for white-christian holidays

HOW TO make your own "PowerSquid Outlet Multiplier"
A few days ago I saw the "PowerSquid" on ThinkGeek a very cool 5 outlet power strip that allows you to plug in those bulky square adaptors. I was going to order one, but they were out of stock and I also realized I could make my own, with a total of 8 outlets for almost half the price of the PowerSquid, here's the simple cheap version...
I should start out saying that I love ThinkGeek - this is a quick HOW TO that might come in handy for folks who don't mind the risk of tripping a circuit breaker or who might want to just add cables to their existing power strips.
Here's the PowerSquid Outlet Multiplier, very handy and cool if you have lots of things to plug in.
I figured that I could pick up some cheap power adaptors and plug those in to my own power strip.
For my version, I hit the 99 cent store and picked up 4 "Power strip liberators" You can also get these from Amazon, but they're about $1.79
(http://blog.makezine.com/DSC06063.jpg)
Next up. a power strip, I had picked up this one on clearance for $3.99!
Plugging in all the liberators to the power strip (with 5 foot cord) not only gets me 4 spots for the bulky adaptors, but 4 on top for a total of 8 outlets.
All for about $8!
Here's it is juicing up a lot of gear, I've named it the "Spaghetti Monster Outlet Multiplier".

I didnt write this.

If you plug two extension cords together like this, they won't come unplugged by accident.
When you're done they're easy to unplug.

Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) -
If You Don't Become an Inspector... You May Become a Conductor
1, 2, 3 These are simple tests that can be done in less than 5 minutes to ensure your safety and that of your fellow workers. Be an inspector, not a conductor.
1. Checking the tool
Before starting your inspection, physically disconnect the tool and cords from the power source. Carefully inspect the tool and the cord visually to find any physical damage that may prove hazardous, such as missing ground prong.
Next, ensure that there is no break in the wire between the metal case of the tool and the grounding prong on the plug. This is known as checking continuity. Do this by using a continuity tester, a device available in a hardware store or electrical supply house.
The alligator clip of the continuity tester is connected to the grounding prong. The opposite end is touched against the metal part of the tool.
If the ground is continuous the indicating light will come on. This tells the inspector that if the tool short circuits, electric current fault will be safely carried away from the tool operator.
Appropriately marked double insulated tools do not have a grounding prong and are double insulated to protect the operator.
2. Checking the extension cord
If you are using an extension cord inspect it for physical damage and continuity using the methods described above. Remember, be sure the cord is not plugged in.
3. Checking the source
When checking the source you, as the inspector, need to ensure that the wiring is correct. This is accomplished with a circuit tester. This simple device, when plugged into an outlet, visually tells the inspector that the wiring concealed behind the panel has been installed properly. Circuit testers are available at hardware stores and electrical supply houses.
