Title: NBA: If you could add one player to your team....
Post by: .:DaYg0sTyLz:. on February 24, 2008, 08:55:43 PM
Who would it be? Just curious....

But be thoughtful. I mean, who would ACTUALLY benefit your team the best (even if its not another superstar. Sometimes a good role player helps more then another star). In other words....if youre a Suns fan, saying that you would want to add Chauncey Billups to your team just because he's a great player...doesnt make sense.

For the Warriors, I'd say KG. We'd have a perfect starting 5(if Biedrins continues to devlop) if we had KG.

Not My Team, But My Second Team..
(I'm A Dodger, But still Watch The Angels...)

Anyway, I'd Put Jamal Crawford in an L.A. Clippers Uni.
And Ship Sam Cassell out of Town.

A Healthy Livingston is a must For '09

LeBron James to the Lakers because he's LeBron James.

Lakers are too stacked, I'd keep the roster as is. I might add Baron Davis just because I want him back home.

With the current Lakers roster, I'd say all we need is a lock-down defender. I'm gonna say Patterson cuz he's available but I'd love to get Posey or Pietrus.

before the gasol trade.......D howard or Marcus Camby, but i'm quite happy with Gasol. he works better than i thought.

i also wouldn't mind having a solid  guard who can play both point and shooting guard. kobe's not getting any younger and nether is fisher, so i'd want some future insurance like a chris paul or a younger B Davis.

lol what a surprise. Its a good thing youre not a GM. The Lakers must be pefect  ::). Every team has room for improvement somewhere. Even if its just a garbage player....a solid 6 man (which you guys could use)...or whatever.

A good defender at the SF position who can shoot the 3 ala Battier to replace Walton and a big defensive minded ala K.Thomas instead of DJ ...

LOL I thought the point of the thread was to pick a guy who ISNT a star to make your team more complete. I would like to see Portland add an Al Horford type player to grab a few rebounds and play some interior D. Our outside and midrange game is fine, its the indside game that needs work. Our rebounding is HORRIBLE sometimes and we need more of a threat to score on the low block to open up the floor for our shooters. This will be addressed when Oden comes in and even more so when Aldridge gets stronger but you can never have enough dirty work players.

If we're adding stars then I'll take Chris Paul. Did you guys see how well Roy and Paul played in the backcourt at the all star game? That shit would be insane.

i'd like to bring in some rebounding and blocks help for Toronto
a guy like Camby or Dalembert would be quite useful.
Camby is obviously a beast; Dalmebert would be a good too tho, just on a lower-scale then Camby.

Youre basically saying that your team couldnt be ANY better? LOL Think how stupid that sounds. Its your opinion that the Lakers are the best team in the league. Having the longest current win streak doesnt make you the best in the league. The Lakers will not finish first in the west any more then the Hornets would have. But back to the question asked. If you were to take the best basketball team of ALL time...no matter who you think it is, they could still improve SOMEwhere. Any quality coach or GM would know that. Youre proving what everyone on here already knows about you.

for the Hawks, I'd say Dwight Howard. Heis a big dominate center, and thats what the Hawks are missing. Plus Horford could go to PF then. with Bibby, J. Johnson, J Smith, Horford, Howard starting, we'd have a lineup to build for the future IMO

I simply wouldn't fuck with the chemistry at this point...what we have is currently working perfect (outside of the missing injured pieces). I don't think the Lakers are looking to add anyone, and that only proves MY point. Can't say the same for the Spurs, Suns, Mavs, Celtics, and all the other contenders in the league, can we?

YOUR point? You guys added Gasol. So wtf are you talking about. Your response in here shows just how blind you are man. You cant look at your team and evaluate its weaknesses....and of course, there are some. Do you think adding a player always means it will "fuck with the chemistry"? No. Like I said, bottom line. And then they followed it up by losing 3 consecutive games to the west...it's all a luck of the draw. In that 16 game stretch, they played Seattle, Houston, Sacramento, Denver, Memphis, Portland, Minnesota, Lakers (TWICE before the Gasol trade), and the Clippers. They did have some nice victories in that stretch, but the majority of the games were giveaways...PeACe

Its a good thing youre not a coach or a GM. Its better that youre a cheerleader.

Then why aren't the Lakers targetting Ruben Patterson when we could obviously get him? That was someones choice...Cuz the FO knows that we have everything we currently need. I'm not blind, I just like our roster as is. Maybe I'd replace Mbenga with a better big, but even then, I don't want anyone cutting into Bynum and Gasol's minutes...don't get mad cuz your team is on the verge of dying and needs some major help...PeACe

We dont need major help lol. Our big three is fine, everyone else are role players and can be switched out as long as they fit within the scheme. You guys made a bigtime pickup with Gasol....we didnt make a move that big. Who needed the help?

We'll see about that...your team will never put together back-to-back titles. Remember how you disappeared from this board RIGHT after 0.4? I predict something along those lines happening again...

if the Lakers were this "super" team then they would be running away with the west

they don't even have the best record in the league  ;D
I guarantee you the Celtics wouldn't have the top spot (or 2nd spot) in the conference if they were in the West.

You can't guarantee that..

In their first 16 games against the west, the Celtics went 16-0. How can you explain that??

Haha. Truth.

Laker fans will say anything to tear down the Celtics.
It has nothing to do with tearing down the Celtics. Do you honestly believe that if the Celtics were in the West that they'd have a best record in the league? Don't fool yourself. Yeah they had a nice streak against the West, but that's over. Since then they went on a 3 game losing streak to the Nuggets, Warriors, and Suns.
