50 Cent is scheduled to release his debut album for Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment later this year, which will be distributed by Interscope. The collection will feature the production of Dr. Dre, Sha Money XL, and Eminem. 50 Cent was formerly signed to the Trackmasters' Columbia Records imprint.

The single is kinda weak. But it will get the attention of mainstream so thats its purpose.

"According to Launch.com 50 Cent, Dr Dre & Eminems latest signee has recently recorded a track with Biggie, not by God's graces but by Computer technology helping to create the track "N-gga" which has appeared on some underground mix tapes. The track uses two verses from the deceased Biggie Smalls.

It has not been confirmed whether or not this track will be a part of the forthcoming Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment 50 Cent LP, however 50 Cent will be working with P. Diddy in the next few weeks.

50 Cent is said to be close to finishing his latest release having recorded 12 songs with Dr. Dre and four songs with Eminem. In addition to that he has already completed a further 16 songs with various other producers."

50 Cent brought his hype machine to Puerto Rico over the weekend for the Mix Show Power Summit, where MCs like Lil' Kim, Busta Rhymes and Cam'ron mingled with DJs.

50, whose underground smash "Wanksta" is spinning out of control in his hometown of New York, will soon get his chance to graduate from being king of the street tapes to Billboard chart topper when his Shady/Aftermath Records debut drops on December 3, according to an Interscope spokesperson (see "50 Cent Worth A Million To Dr. Dre And Eminem").

Although it's still up in the air whether the Queens native will keep "Wanksta" as the first official single (50 has a track called "1st Single" he's thinking about unveiling) or if the album title will remain Get Rich or Die Trying, he will definitely use tracks provided by Dr. Dre, Eminem, Rockwilder and Sha Money XL, the producer behind most of his underground cuts.

Em has produced four songs for 50 Cent, including a posse cut featuring 50, Em and Obie Trice called "Love Me" for the "8 Mile" soundtrack. Two others, "Patiently Waiting" and "Don't Push Me," have been allotted for the 50 Cent solo project.

While in Puerto Rico, the chiseled, unabashed word flipper, who just wrapped production on a video for the remix of Missy Elliott's "Work It," revealed that Trina gets down and dirty on the sex-themed ditty "The Magic Stick" on his album. DMX may also pop up on the opus, as there's heavy talk of a posse cut featuring DMX, 50 and Marshall Mathers.

I might cop this. 50 hasn't really blown me away but with production from all those listed I will definitely give it a chance plus he rep the streets which is very rare in hip hop today. This might be the best debut album we've heard in a long time. [Yes, I know he has Power Of The Dollar and Guess Who's Back but one wasn't released and the other is just a collection of old songs.]

Small chances, the song is several years old.
Dope joint, but The Madd Rapper is annoying.

This track was 50's first taste of fame..
both negatively & positively.

The 50 Cent songs on the 8 Mile soundtrack didn't blow me away... so unless 50 steps up his game, I can't say I expect much from this album. But I anticipate it, of course... I'ma check it out when it drops. Peace

Most likely the tracklist is fake, but hopefully Tough Block (if that's the name of the track) is on the album. There's nothing I'd like to hear more than 50 & DMX on the same track dissing the fuck outta Ja Fool. And even though Em doesn't have that much history as Ja Fool's enemy, he's gonna add some mo heat to the track, no doubt.

SIXSHOT:  Your new album, how would you describe it? Lyrically?Thematically/Stylistically? Production wise?
50 CENT:  Honestly, It’s the best thing I’ve done to date. I’ve got party joints, you know I got shit for the streets.  I don’t’ want to blow how I set it off, but I got something for everybody.

SIXSHOT:  Your single Wanksta, what is about? What is a wanksta?
50 CENT:  Gangsta’s are inspired by finance. Wansksta.... Ja is a fuckin Wanksta....that nigga is bitch made for real....A wanksta is a fraud.

SIXSHOT:  What do you think about the Eminem/Benzino feud?
50 CENT: That ain’t even a feud. That’s Benzino's attempt to get some shine. Em said “I didn’t even meet this guy…we never had any action with Benzino where he had a problem." I heard Benzino's shit on his album where he's like "50 get your loot and stay out of it", because he knows I rap for the hood. I look at it I understand it. The truth is he can get a little attention for going after Em, but seriously, even after you get everybody to listen, you
better have some quality shit there, because you’re fucked if the rest of the quality is missing.

SIXSHOT:  What are your favorite tracks off the new album?
50 CENT:  My favorite joint is called Heat. Me and Dre. Dre got some shit with him musically. Like I said before, he got some shit for NWA still that matches me so perfectly.

SIXSHOT:  Besides Aftermath, do you have a clique you rep?
50 CENT: Aftermath. G-Unit Records is my company. I’m negotiating a deal, probably wont’ be done until my first week of sales.

SIXSHOT:  What guest appears on your new album?
50 CENT:  Eminem, I’m gonna be on Obie's album. Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks, Trina's gonna be on a song called "Magic Stick"; I don’t want to blow it.  There are going to be a lot of suprises.

SIXSHOT: How has the album been recorded and produced?  How much have Dre
and Eminem contributed?
50 CENT:  Me and Dre did 12, Me and Em did 6, 4 of those ended up on the 8 Mile Soundtrack. Right now the creative process is crazy.

Rapper 50 Cent will release his new album, Get Rich Or Die Trying, on February 11 via Shady/Aftermath/Interscope Records, and he issued the first official single from the set, titled "In Da Club." The song was produced by Dr. Dre, who has produced hits for the likes of Eminem, Xzibit, Snoop Dogg, Eve, Mary J. Blige, and others.

50 Cent was involved in a huge bidding war before finally signing a joint deal with Eminem's Shady Records and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. 50 Cent, who was shot nine times in 2000, maintains that although there was a lot of interest, many labels shied away because they saw him as a liability.

50 Cent said "'Cause if you think about, you're making a better investment if you have a studio gangster, someone who doesn't come from that, those walks of life that these things can't happen to them or they don't have those kind of people around them. They're afraid of what happens when there ain't no Plan B. When they know that this is it, either you do this or you going back to the 'hood, they're afraid of what happens when it's they fault your record ain't selling."

The rapper continued, "So when that happens, how do you explain to a person who is telling you there's nothing else--this is it--so they get antsy about that. Then they start thinking, 'Well, if something happens and you make an investment in this artist because you giving him this kind of finances and advance to record these records, then there's a risk if he's really from that,' and that kinda tried to get people to shy away from me."

Shady's next project is the LP from Queens, New York, rapper 50 Cent, whose album is due in February (see "50 Cent Works With Dre, Em, Trina, Possibly DMX On Debut"). Obie Trice's long-awaited debut will follow soon after.

... expect the same quality as 50's album, from my album, from Dre's album. It's the same type of producers, it's the same type of perfectionists in the studio with every artist.

"We won't put it out unless it's perfect," he continued, pointing toward his mentor, Dr. Dre, who appears in 50's clip along with Eminem. "I learned that from this man right here."

Eminem has produced two tracks for 50 Cent's album and co-produced several more, although it's his role as executive producer that he is most enthused about.

"I'm there doing the mix downs and me and Dre are just overseeing the whole project, making sure that every song is hot," he explained. "I wish my first album was this hot. That's all I can say. I'm not selling the album. The album is going to sell itself."

RapBasement.com:Ok what can we expect on your upcoming album as far as collab and what not?

50 Cent: Collabs? Me and Em, Me and Dre, Me and Busta, then a joint with Trina

RapBasement.com: How did you hook up with Dre and Eminem?

50 Cent: Oh we went to the joint with G Unit, Loyd Banks and Tony Yayo but um I hooked up with Dre and Em through my attorney and Eminem's attorney, they kinda came up together, they had a relationship. He gave him a cd called "Guess Who's back?" that I had put out at the time, and gave it to Em and Em was in the middle of finishing up "The Eminem Show" so he didn't get a chance to listen to it, then right after he listened to it and he told Paul "gotta get him, i need to um to um get this guy" so they flew me to Los Angeles. They called me like Friday at 9 o'clock, you know how niggas taking a meeting, usually happens between Monday through Friday between 9-5. So they called and flew me to Los Angeles I came out so I met with them the next day, so I actually met with them on Saturday. Me Em and Dre, first me and Em met at one of his release party, then the next day it was me Em and Dre, we met. He was actually in the studio editing the 8 Mile film when we in fact came there. But when I had left, I had made this decision that I wanted to be on Shady/Aftermath, before I left just cuz the idea of being signed to them, of not having anyone trying to censor me, was a great idea.

RapBasement.com: No Doubt, Are Either Eminem or Dre contributing any beats to your album?

50 Cent: Yes, both of them.

Nima : Which producers have you got on the record?

50 Cent : Production is various.. we got, uhm, Megahertz, Dre, Em, Primo, Sha Money XL...

Nima : Could you describe the album for us?

50 Cent : I'd say the album is classic. Em and Dre, we did an interview with MTV yesterday and Em compared it to his second album, my first album coming out feeling like his second, he wish that his first album would have come out like that.

No offense to whoever made it, but it doesn't seem legit.
"Riding through the hood" features Brooklyn and not G-Unit, by the way.

Also, the other previews on that site seemed scetchy too, e.g. Ras Kass, Sheek, Knoc & Mobb Deep..

50 Cent Upcoming Album Due Feb. 11

50 Cent spent tons of change while recording his debut album — just in stamps.

Every time the New York rapper recorded lyrics for his LP, now titled For War or Love, he immediately sent the results by mail to his producers, Dr. Dre and Eminem.
"He'd send CDs to us and we was like, 'Yo, you should do this, you should do that,' Eminem explained recently on the set of 50 Cent's video for his new single, "In Da Club."

"They would fix it," 50 said. "I know that it's constructive criticism and I accept it easy ... [Eminem's] presence is dead for real, seriously."

For War or Love, originally titled Get Rich or Die Trying and slated for release December 3, will now hit shelves on February 11.

Eminem produced two tracks — tentatively titled "Patiently Waiting" and "Don't Push Me" — for the album, and co-produced several more.

"In Da Club," due at radio and video outlets in January, is the follow-up to 50's breakthrough single from the "8 Mile" soundtrack, "Wanksta"

More 50 Cent Album News - Dedicato 17.01.2003 - 19:42
More information has come out regarding the new 50 Cent album, this time in a report on MTV.
50 Cent's run in's with the law have caused him to have more than just a quick phone call chat with head of Interscope, Jimmy Iovine : "Absolutely, I get phone calls, but now I have meetings. I have to have a meeting. I sit down and Jimmy explains things to me like, 'You have to be like this.' Dre and them know what I'm used to. We sat down and had conversations before they signed me. They know who I am...I have to internalize things in a negative way to understand them."
50 also revealed how he is far from worried about his new album, "Get Rich or Die Trying," hitting the streets early and getting bootlegged : "The bootleggers are gonna go crazy with this record, they understand how much of a presence I have in the streets. They'll probably get the record two weeks before the album actually drops and it'll be all over the place. When [I'm] putting together the best record I can, I believe word of mouth is just gonna generate more sales. Consistency is the key to all success. If I consistently put out good music, if they buy the bootleg this go around, it'll guarantee that they purchase the real CD when my next album comes out. I'm in a good space financially so I'm not worked up about the few dollars the bootleggers are gonna get."
With the albums first single already blowing up in the streets, on radio and in the clubs, its now getting rotation on TV as it recently had its premiere. Referring to the "In Da Club" video 50 said : "It's like Shady/Aftermath artist development, we wanna try to raise the bar, make the bionic artists. Give them all the qualities to sell records on their own. 'In Da Club' was the very first song I recorded with Dr. Dre in preparation for this album, I just wanted to have fun with the record. A lot of my records deal with personal issues or life-threatening issues. That's what the "die trying" part in Get Rich or Die Trying is about."
Regarding other tracks on the album, 50 revealed he has a collaboration with Nate Dogg on which he takes a different stance in regards to women : "I did a song called '21 Questions' with Nate Dogg, I think it's gonna be one of my biggest records. It's one of the first records I wrote where I'm not dogging women. I express myself in a different way on that record so it's entertaining to me. I don't think being one way is entertaining."
Tracks he and Eminem worked on for the new release includes the track, "Patiently Waiting," a song 50 Cent said may remind us of Eminem's most recent hit : "'Patiently Waiting' is talking about how I had to wait patiently to get my shot, It's kind of like 'Lose Yourself.' I actually heard that song while [Eminem] was on tour. When [he] wrote it and played it for me, I was like, 'Yo, it felt like you was talking about me. The things you was saying like you only get one shot.'"
"How To Rob" was the industry's first real taste of 50 Cent, the track in which he took a swipe at every artist you could imagine! He revealed the ammount of time he dedicates to 'disses' on the new album : "Small, because of my entrance with 'How to Rob,' I didn't want to make it my M.O. I got some issues I wanna deal with. I wanna get past this record before I actually get into it and do it the way I wanna do it. I wanna establish myself without that so it isn't, 'Oh, his M.O. is he's a trouble maker.' I think I'm gonna have that M.O. [tag] anyway. I worked on a record called 'Many Men,' it dealt with some of my issues, but I did it in what I think was a witty, creative way."
While he didnt reveal how deep they went, 50 did make it clear that in recording sessions he and DMX joined forces to go at a mutual adversary...i think we all know who! That track, titled "The Untouchables," is set to appear on X's upcoming album, "It's Not a Game" : "It's a good song, we sat down and built on the concept of it. Most people think it's gonna destroy Ja Rule, because he has issues with him and I have issues with him, but we didn't go there with the record immediately."
You can also expect a collaboration with DMC for a tribute track to Jam Master Jay titled, "We Miss Our Friend." Expect the song to appear on DMC's first solo album, "Checks, Thugs and Rock and Roll," which comes out in March.

Interscope Records have reacted to bootlegging, piracy, and overall demand and implemented the same tactics as they did when they released "The Eminem Show," and have pushed the release date up by five days. The release of "Get Rich Or Die Tryin," is now due on Thursday, February 6th, 2003. On the new date 50 had this to say : "I’m excited that the streets are anxious to have my album so I’m just gonna give them what they want, the real version. And if I catch any bootleggers they gonna have to deal with me. Believe me G-Unit is combing the block. I’m lookin for that van."

Senior Executive of Sales and Marketing for Interscope Geffen A&M, Steve Berman also commented on the early release : "Once again we find ourselves pushing up an album. This is an unfortunate road that we have been down before but luckily we know what measures to take. We immediately turned up the heat. In conjunction with our partners at retail we are confident that we will meet the demand and get the product in stores."

Dont forget the first 500,000 copies pressed include the limited edition DVD which contains behind the scenes footage, exclusive interviews and live performances! So get your hand's on a copy as soon as it drops!

Hip-hop has not seen a buzz like the one 50 Cent has
generated since, well, Eminem's The Slim Shady LP.
That's probably why bootleggers have already put the LP
on the net. However, adding a twist to the scenario,
word is that Interscope has duped the Net heads by
releasing a fake version of Get Rich Or Die Trying.
Look for these tracks to be included on the retail
version: "50 Kills" f/Xzibit, "Tough Block" f/Eminem and
DMX, "The Magic Stick" f/Trina, "Trauma Drama" f/Dr. Dre
and Nate Dogg, "If I Knew" f/ Em & D12 and "Trouble In
NYC" f/Rakim. Because of the bootlegging, Interscope
has pushed the release date of the album up to February
6th - and yes, we will begin shipping on that date.
Meanwhile, with Tony Yayo of the G Unit away serving
some jail time, 50 has enlisted longtime friend, Wuteva,
to join him on his promo tour. Wuteva is signed to
Rockwilder and DJ Twinz's Muzik Park label. Lastly,
anyone else worried that it took 50 Cent only
four-months to record his Shady Records / AfterMath
debut and Rakim has been signed/stagnant for nearly
two-years? You know what we are fearing Dre - don't do
it to us!
