Xzibit says this will be much more lyrically advanced...and that "Restless" was only a 1/10 of his lyricall capabilities, because it was so rushed...He says this one will be his greatest Lyrical effort...Let's hope so...

In an interview he said that Dre gave him a 38-track beat tape 4 X to rock.
Some of the songs were ment for Detox, some for MVM,if so...
Then we are going to see alot of Dre`s production on X`s fourt*wiiiipiii* ;)

X to tha Z still rapped better than 90% of the rappers out this year.  Just because not everything on Restless was classic shit, people downgrade him now.  Nothing hurt this album more than the delays and the poor marketing.  Why "Get Ya Walk On" isn't a hit is only the fault of Loud Records.  At least "X" made some noise.  Meanwhile, Rass Kass still can't get a song on the radio.

This album will be out in May/June 2002,not in March like xzibit said.
The Reason?....ask to the executive producer Dr.dre
...dre now is too busy with Truth Hurts and he don't have enough time for xzibit....so X to the Z has decide to wait.
At this moment, the "official " release date for this album is May/June 2002.
:(damn

This album sounds dope as fuck! So many albums I'm waiting for in 2002.

I'm glad to see Xzibit as a Hip Hop superstar representing for the West Coast!

Yo Incognito, you can add Rockwilder to that list of producers. This joint is gon be off the heaterz, it's second on my list, after Dre. Xzibit sounds good on a Rockwilder-beat, I'm still bumping Front 2 Back. Cuz.

Damn, that's gonna be hot! I mean, I loved Restless, 40 Days & 40 Nights was even better. I can't wait till the 4th album of the best West Coast MC (tied with Ras Kass) alive drops. Last summer I've seen those two on stage together, and it was the dopest concert I've ever been to.

for those of you waiting on X-Man’s Man vs Machine the wait will be worth it. from the limited amount of tracks i have heard it should be a monster album. XZibit has really really stepped up his lyrics on this one.its got some fresh topics and lyrical directions, and the production is very cool, very new age and fresh. and dre hasn’t even done much work on it yet. -Mellowman

Ra is East Coast without a doubt. Therefore his album will be East Coast. It don't matter who produces the album. Cube's debut was produced by The Bomb Squad but it's still a West Coast album. Nontheless, I'm dying to here Ra and Xzibit's albums! I want them to hurry up but I also want them to take their time so the end result will be classic timeless shit.

West coast rapper Xzibit is preparing to release his new album, Man Vs Machine in June in time for the summer. Dr. Dre, Battlecat, E-Swift and DJ Premier handle the the production on “Man,” which was originally supposed to drop this month. With “Man,” the follow up to his double platinum CD Restless, Will differ from his pervious work.

X says the newer CD represents many different things within, not only “typical” hip-hop infatuations. Xzibit told AllHipHop, “So that’s my way of looking at it. It’s a corporate world, corporate machine we got to battle. It’s a social machine we got to battle. It’s all type of sh*t, so I’m attacking it on that type of level.”

The rapper also admitted he wouldn’t stray too far from the current formula, which helped him break the platinum mark for the first time. “It’s still the same formula with Dr. Dre. And learning some stuff from him, and being involved as an artist. As I get older, as I experience life, I try to take my listeners through my process with me,” he said.

Ultimately, he said that he felt that music is as an important form of communication as traditional news and the internet. “And we can continue to see [hip-hop] grow. It’s like communication for everybody. If you don’t watch TV, if you don’t get on the internet, if you walk outside-you are going to hear some music,”
Xzibit said.

In the wake of Loud Records demise, it appears as though Xzibit will now be officially a Columbia Records recording artist. X is currently working on his new album 'Man Vs Machine' which is due to drop in June.

With Loud now gone, there is no confirmed word as to whether or not the new Xzibit album will still drop in the middle of the year or if it will be delayed and pushed back until November. We'll keep you posted on any new developments.

If you look back in the this post I quoted Mellowman saying how Dre hasn't done much work on the album as of yet.  he said this like in February...now this pops up:

"I been fucking with opera since Paparazzi". The song he is referring to is the Rick Rock-produced "Symphony X" featuring Dr.Dre.  And although the production mastermind is noticeably absent from the current session, he is still fimrly attatched to the executive producer role.
Xzibit has been influenced by rock lately, and that is shown on the rock-tinged "The Answer", produced by Jellyroll.
Opera and rock isn't the only thing Xzibit is fucking with these days. The tentatively-titled "Gambler" produced by Bink Dogg, ffeatures a soulful hook, that conjures up down-home blues.
In addition, Xzibit went to NYC to hook up with producer mastermind DJ Premier for the joint "What a mess".
Longtime fans need not fret, however. Dr.Dre is lined up for 3 tracks for the album.
Underground soldier Phil Da Agony & Open Bars Golden State members Ras Kass & Saafir will also make frequent appearences,
most notably on the song Xzibit refers to as "Come harder", a high-energy call-and-response fire-starter that Xzibit puts on repeat as Ras Kass enters the studio.
"I'm flowing free, I'm definitely trying to get more advanced on this album"

Mellow was right.

mtv.com:

Man vs. Machine sounds more like the name of a painting than an album, but what do you expect from a rapper by the name of Xzibit?

The lyrical artist will unveil his latest work on September 3, his spokesperson said Wednesday.

As on 2000's breakthrough Restless, fellow West Coast native Dr. Dre will serve as executive producer — not that X needs him.

"He actually didn't really need that much of my involvement, because he hustles," Dre said recently. "Xzibit is not one of those that needs to be baby-sitted. He knows how to be an artist, [how to] go out there and get his album done. I come in and do my touches or do what I feel is needed to the songs, and that's that."

Dre and his famous protégés, Snoop Dogg and Eminem, will appear on the album, along with Ras Kass and Defari from Xzibit's side gig, the Golden State Project. The rapper has also said in the past that Rockwilder, Megahertz, Bink Dog, Mel-Man and Rick Rock are producing tracks, although his spokesperson could not confirm which artists and producers will make it onto the release.

Finished material has been kept under wraps to avoid bootlegging, though one person who has heard a majority of it speaks highly of the songs.

"I'm feeling it so far," Dre said. "Each record has to get better and better, and this one, I feel, is better than the last one, so he's on the right track."

Xzibit will debut some new tracks when he hits the road in late July on the Anger Management Tour (see "Eminem, Papa Roach Line Up Anger Management Dates").

Xzibit spoke to MTV.com about his upcoming release "Man vs. Machine", and had some quiet interesting things to say.
Xzibit and Dre are finishing the final song on Man vs. Machine this week.
The album is due out September 3, though Xzibit said he hopes to release it sooner.

It was also revealed that N.Y.-duo M.O.P. will be on the album, possibly on the cut with their usual producer DJ Premier.
M.O.P. or Mash Out Posse consists of Billy Danze and Lil Fame.

Xzibit:
"I've got a lot to prove, I've made some leaps and bounds as an underground artist. I got a lot of prejudice. I got a lot of pressure. I got a lot of stuff built up against me, and I look forward to it. I love a challenge. I'm one man, and I have definitely pulled this little wagon a long way, and I'm about to pull it some more."

Dre earlier said that he isn't much needed in the project, but Xzibit feels different:

"Dr. Dre definitely gets in there and brings out the best in an artist. He'll get you in there, and he'll allow you to paint the picture and then, with all his experience and his knowledge, he'll help you hang it right and present it correctly. He's not in the studio with some anal-retentive methods of how to produce music."
We want to come out and change the game, You don't want to come and be the same cat you were last year.
You want to do something better, push the line with your music. That's how we get it done.
As hip-hop artists, you have to take the music seriously, not just as a way to get rich."

MTV got some more interesting news on the new Xzibit LP "Man vs. Machine".
As mentioned earlier, M.O.P. will be on the album, and the title of this interesting collabo is "BK to LA".

The first single of the album will be "Multiply" featuring Nate Dogg, and with Dr.Dre on the beat. The video for this joint will be shot in the near future.

There will also be another J.D. diss on the album, in form of "Say my name" featuring Eminem.
Snoop Dogg will also appear, on the track "Losin' Your Mind".

Fellow Golden State members Ras Kass & Saafir will be on the anthem "Harder", and Dr.Dre & Phil Da Agony will also appear on the album.

It's still scheduled for early September, so let's just hope that sticks.

Louder? That’s right; Loud is soon to be back in business. An as yet unnamed company and Loud have decided to begin a label relationship with Steve Rifkind still playing the role of soul controller. An inside source from Loud Records said that a deal with Interscope Records is a possible route that the company has been mulling over.

Xzibit’s Man Vs. Machine could possibly be the first album to come out on the new Loud and because of all the uncertainty his LP has been pushed back until 10-01-02. Although from what the advance sampler CD has shown, could Xzibit’s album be the first true classic of the year?

Me too, he's my 2nd fav. producer.
He probably won't produce more than 1 joint, as he rarely does more than one for each artist.
The only 2 he has produced 2 for is Redman & Prodigy if I don't remember wrong.

I think it's pretty obvious Premier would do the X/M.O.P. joint.  And Eminem with the track he is on.

I hope Battlecat & Quik WON'T return.
People bitch about Xzibit not sounding good on Dre-beats, but he sounded worse on BC & Quik-beats.
"Gz iz Gz" Remix being the exception.

Isn't it strange that Nate Dogg is on the track where Eminem reportedly disses J.D. ??
Nate is coo with J.D., and they did at least 2-3 collabos.

I think the biggest problem with "Restless" people had was that Xzibit did not rap about topics.  He just rapped about random things.  Like what is "Front 2 Back," "X" and " songs like "Been A LOng Time" about?  Nothing.  The only song that had a theme was "Sorry I'm Away So Much."  And that was about X's kid.  The other songs had no structurem and that is what people had a problem with.  That is also why The Source only gave it 3.5 mics.

I've heard "Mulitply" enough to judge it isn't all that.  "X" was much tighter.  X trying to change voices in the beginning is wack.  Tryin to be like Eminem.

The couldn't separate Xzibit from Eminem.

Here's what they said.

"Xzibit's got a nasty mouth, but -- unlike Eminem -- he loves his momma. With 'I Miss You,' a hip-hop epitaph to his late mother, we see X's soft side. For the rest of Man Vs. Machine, he employs his guttural growl to nail those dumb enough to have 'fucked with him.' If you like the hard stuff, you too will shout out with glee, 'X to the muthafuckin' Z!'"

I wouldn't mind that.

nah, Teecee heard that the Source gave it 3.5 mics, that's probably what you heard.
But giving a WestCOAST-album 3.5 mics, means that it's a classic by the Source's standards.

I just pre-ordered my copy of Xzibit's "Man Vs. Machine" from http://www.hiphopsite.com (which I highly recommend, because they include a bunch of free stuff in your order).

This is what was included in my order:

-A Free Autographed Xzibit Mini-Poster
-A Free Full Size "Man Vs. Machine" Poster
-A Free DJ Green Lantern "Anger Management" Mix CD (with 26 tracks of new and unreleased music from Eminem, 50 Cent, Royce 5'9, Obie Trice, Ras Kass, Knocturnal, Xzibit, etc.)
-A Free 3-song bonus CD (included in the first 800,000 copies of "Man Vs. Machine")
-A Free "Hosted By Kay Slay" Man Vs. Machine Sampler (from HipHopSite's "FREEBIES GALORE!!" section)

It costed $22 (with shipping and handling), but I definitely think that it was worth it. ;D

this is due out Oct. 7th in Australia for any Australian's that care...both with the bonus disc and without.

its being getting good promotion over here compared to most west coast albums - Mulitply has been playing heaps on the music channel - and not many west coast clips get played over here - the last one was Kurupt - It's Over, the next one will probably be Snoop's single, and the one after would probably be Detox's first single.
