Today marks "3 weeks" since Crooked I said his 1st official single with Akon would be released in "3 weeks". Wasn't holding my breath or nothin (knowning all about his track record & broken promises to fans), but just wondering if anyone has heard anything else? Has he given it a new premiere date or somethin?

I have this bad feeling that Prichard is bullshitting the fans. Seems like tickets ususally go on sale for next year not for several months from now. Here locally they've been advertising tickets for next season as being ons ale for the past month or so.
My theory is they are trying to get people's hopes up for next season as high as possible, and then before the season starts they'll say something to the effect that Oden won't be cleared to play til the all-star broke or so lol.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand...........fuck you Crooked I. lol. 8)

In week one of HHW, didn't he say "this year I'm droppin BOSS, I promise"?? Also, wasn't he in the beginning planning on doing the HHW's until he dropped BOSS? I'm not saying that the HHW's were a bad thing, they were great. Just don't say things that you arent going to follow up on. It's been over 10 years and still no album, just broken promises to fans time after time.

BTW Someone @ hiphopdx.com interviewed Crooked I and said he heard the single, it's a banger. Be on the look out for this video interview which should be posted on their website this week. I consider myself as a big Crooked I fan and I don't feel let down. 8)

Bottom line is he's one of the best lyricists out there, on the west or anywhere else. People are acting like he's your best friend and made a personal promise to you and then he went and pissed in your cornflakes or some shit. He wouldn't withhold stuff just to piss fans off! People act like artists can just drop shit whenever they like, but that may fuck up the marketing plan or whatever and then you'd waste all the time and money you spent just because a few people want you to drop it for them because you mentioned a random date a few weeks ago

If Crooked is looking to do what's best for his family 1st, he may want to rethink this brilliant marketing strategy. Do you think he made money off the hip hop weekly's? That was just for some re-exposure, as well as holding his fans over until he could drop the album. How do you think he's making money right now? Don't you think he'd make more money with a single, album, etc out to the general public? Homie's rhymes are tight as fuck, but he's no Dr. Dre and hasn't earned the luxury that Dre has of taking so damn long to release an album without the fans getting fed up (and the fans are even talking down on Dre's lack of an album release now as well, so you can imagine how we feel about Crooked I's situation).
Bottom line is: Don't make promises you can't keep. Especially if it was only 3 weeks ago! Did a lot really change in Crooked's life in the last 3 weeks stopping him from dropping the single as promised? I doubt it.

As for Crooked's delay, nobody should be surprised. This always happens with him. I very much doubt that it's politics of the industry as a reason for him not releasing anything. He thinks he's on Jay Z's level for trying to negotiate an album deal. When in reality he really hasn't proven himself wothy of such a deal. Sure, he is a lyrical monster but the record labels want someone that can make them money. Like I said before, his whole "Boss" mentality is what's holding him back. You need to work your way up the ranks in order to become a boss.

i thought NWA was pretty damn good and crook was spittin' hot on that one. maybe the problem isn't the track but more crooked hasn't got the resources for fully promoting himself and dropping this project. we keep hearing that the albums been delayed because his deal is getting upgraded etc etc - but it seems like he wasn't in a very good position to drop an album back then and perhaps still isn't now? i mean the situation might have improved a lil but it was obviously really bad before...
i'm just guessing with that but hopefully this 'incredible' album materialises really soon and this supposed single drops to get the ball rolling on promotion. i'd sure as hell like to hear it, but it seems like even his most hardcore fanbase is getting peeved and if the album is anything less than superb there's gonna be uproar...

Sure, he is a lyrical monster but the record labels want someone that can make them money. Like I said before, his whole "Boss" mentality is what's holding him back. You need to work your way up the ranks in order to become a boss.
Labels want to either capitalise on buzz.... which crooked hasnt had properly OFF the internet since he was with Suge (who had him on TV n shit) or they want to take a non-risk.. with a someone like crooked demanding the earth, playing hard as he knows the industry by now, and actually having a really bad reputation/track record for getting product out (a businessman looks at the all the non-release's as a failure) .
its like this, and i've been saying it for years.. Crooked I aint likely to go gold, let alone platinum, he's a good MC but everyone knows good MC's DONT SELL in the mainstream.

I have this bad feeling that Prichard is bullshitting the fans. Seems like tickets ususally go on sale for next year not for several months from now. Here locally they've been advertising tickets for next season as being ons ale for the past month or so.
My theory is they are trying to get people's hopes up for next season as high as possible, and then before the season starts they'll say something to the effect that Oden won't be cleared to play til the all-star broke or so lol.

LOL I have no doubt that Oden will be ready to go when the season starts. He's been practicing and getting great workouts in for a good number of months now. The doctors said that Odens injury was among the mildest they've seen (unlike Miles, which they called the worst they've ever seen). After a full year of rehab from a relatively minor (compared to other microfracture patients) injury he should be fine. I think jason Kidd came back only 3 months after his, and Amare came back after just 6 months and they both look fine. And fuck Crooked I.

Have to agree with this. It's easy to rap about whatever you want on mixtapes but on retail albums, you have to have structured songs that sort of tell a story or have some theme. Until Crooked does that, he really hasn't proven himself.

What do you care if people support and listen to Crooked I? Dude already released one mixtape in 2008 and dropped 52+ freestyle-tracks in the last year alone. Not to mention the countless feature appearances he's been on that were heat, regardless if they were done with underground artists. Stop discrediting what Crook is doing. If you find checking for him is a waste of time, move along and find new music. Your acting like that when Crook doesn't release a song or album he is intentionally hurting the fans. And honestly, I don't mind waiting any longer. It's not like I think I'm going to die before we get to hear a Crooked I single and/or album (we'll have to see though), but when you promise the fans something like that he should just come through. I can see when he says "B.O.S.S." will be out this year", and then it doesn't come out for whatever reason ("this year" is a big time frame), but when he specifically says "3 weeks & the single will drop", and then dude doesn't drop it, offers no explanation, etc..........it just makes me want to quit checking for him all together. :(
