i am almost positive that the title isn't called "the eminem lp"...but there is already a snippet of his first song on the net and it's called "mama", you only get to hear the chorus though but it sounds real good...if you come across it than check it out, peace.

Eminem: mama??

Where can I hear it ?

You can hear the chorus from "Mama" in the 8 Mile trailer.

Are we sure that "Mama" will be on Em's next album??, isn't it more likely that it'll be featured on the soundtrack for 8 Mile??

I think 'Cleaning Out The Closet' is also the track name for the song you hear in the 8 Mile trailer.. Whatever the album title its gonna be a good one.. same with the soundtrack..

Eminem has so much unreleased material it's not funny. This guy could put out four solid LPs (with only the best "cut" tracks from his previous releases) and still have them be ill. As of this moment he's easily one of the wittiest lyricists in the game.

Dre Speaks On New Eminem Album    Feb 1 2002, 10:28 am
Could Eminem be growing up? That's the early word on his upcoming album, at least according to mentor/producer Dr. Dre. "It's a lot more serious this time," says the good Dr. "There's not as much playful stuff on it." Dre also tells us that the new CD is titled 'The Eminem Show'and could be out as soon as April. "I'm gonna finish up his project soon," he says. But while he may be less juvenile, don't expect easy listening."It's crazy," says Dre of the album."It's him being him."

"Controversial, multi-platinum rapper Eminem has recorded more than half of his forthcoming album, The Eminem Show, according to a spokesperson for the Detroit-bred artist. The album, which will include production from Eminem and Dr. Dre, is scheduled to be released in April.

The song "Cleaning Out My Closet" is featured on the trailer for the Eminem film, 8 Mile, which is directed by Curtis Hanson.

Eminem will also appear on the 8 Mile soundtrack, which will be released via his label, Shady Records. The rapper completed filming 8 Mile last month. The movie loosely based on Eminem's life includes appearances by Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, D12, and Xzibit.

Eminem's last album, The Marshall Mathers LP, released in 2000, has been certified eight-times platinum. Eminem has sold more than 17 million albums worldwide to date."

He’s b-a-c-k!! Eminem’s latest endeavor, The Eminem Show, has been slated for a tentative 4-23-02 release date and word is Dre and Eminem will exclusively handle the production. Considering that Em no longer smokes or drinks, look for a more mature effort from Mr. Mathers in 2002. The track, “Cleaning Out My Closet,” that is played during the trailer of Em’s movie debut, 8 Mile, will be included on both The Eminem Show and the movie's Soundtrack. - HipHopSite.com

Props to my boy JohnJ form Bodyrotts forum for this news from a detroit newspaper.

"He's baaaaaack ... Detroit rapper Eminem and his pal Dr. Dre recently announced plans for an April release of Em's third album, currently titled The Eminem Show.
Not much is known about the new disc, but a source inside Eminem's camp says that it is likely to include a new take on the Aerosmith nugget "Dream On" as well as a track that centers around a song by late Beatle George Harrison.
Ex-patriot Detroiter Marky Bass, who co-produced the project with his brother Jeff Bass as well as Dre and Em, says the album is more "serious" than its predecessors.
"It's better," says Bass, by phone from his current base in Los Angeles. "He's matured since the last one, and he's been through so much since then, good and bad. He kept going and wrote a fantastic album. He's a tough kid -- it's brilliant."
Bass says that the album was originally titled Nothing Mathers, and, while he's reluctant to give too many details, he promises that the saga of Eminem's ex-wife Kim Mathers (who was lyrically "killed" on The Marshall Mathers LP and dumped in a lake on The Slim Shady LP) is not over.
"Ohhhh, little Kimmy," says Bass coyly. "You'll hear all about her on this one. Is she at the bottom of the lake or is she in Bel Air? Come April, you'll find out."
Em's last album, The Marshall Mathers LP, did the biggest opening week numbers of any rap album in history. Expect this one to be a whopper, too.
In the meantime, Mr. Mathers, can be spotted in the video for the latest single from fellow Detroit rapper Royce Da 5'9", "Rock City." Em performed on the track and co-produced Royce's upcoming full-lengther of the same name.
The Royce album has been pushed back several times already, and executives at Columbia, who decline to comment on the "whys" and "what fors," are still hedging on a release date. For now, fans will have to be satisfied with the swanky new video, which can be viewed at www.columbiarecords.com/ musicvideo/. Royce heads to Europe at the end of the month for a 12-city tour with Usher."

EMINEM NEWS- exclusive
Eminem called in during Angie's show today on Hot 97 and she had a convo with him for like 10 minutes...he was serious for maybe 30 seconds, most of the time he was messin around and telling Angie how he wants to get with her...it was mad funny though...when he wasn't fuckin around he dropped some info on his new album and he talked about some rumors...

- The Eminem Show is coming out May 28th...

- he said all the rumors about him quitting drinking, smoking and doing drugs is NOT true...he said those rumors we either jokes or he didn't know where they came from...in his words- "I still do drugs, I still drink and I'm doing everything heavily"...
- he said the new album is very angry...

Angie ( about the new album, after he said that ): "You're still doing angry music?"
Em: "Yeah I'm still very angry, I'm so f*n mad I'm shaking right now"

( he was joking when he said that but he did say the album was angry )

- all the rumors about him being more spiritual and doing a gospel-type album ( she asked about the news from MTV.com ) were NOT true...

- his movie is gonna be out in September...

On Direct Effect they announced that Em will start shooting the video for his new single "Without me" next week, and Obie Trice, Dre and D12 are to make cameos on his album.
Apperantly, Eminem is still going to the studio working on a couple of tracks included on 'The Eminem Show' LP, and putting the finishing touches on most of them. As a matter of fact, Eminem was in the studio last Sunday night for a few hours working.

MTV.com

Those who thought Eminem would tone down his shocking rhymes on the follow-up to his controversial The Marshall Mathers LP thought wrong.

At least according to his mentor, Dr. Dre, who has handed over most of the producing duties on The Eminem Show, due May 28, to Slim Shady himself.

"His album is crazy. I mean, what more can I say? It's Eminem to the fullest," Dre said Wednesday at his Burbank, California, recording studio. "Everybody that digs the first two albums is gonna love this one."

Rumors that the album would be more serious are not true, according to the Dr., who is still finishing his tracks with Eminem.

"Well, I do feel he has matured as a lyricist, but I don't know if [saying he's] moving in a different direction is accurate," Dre said. "His stuff is really crazy to me because just when you think, 'OK, he has run out of stuff to say, he can get no crazier than this,' something comes out of his face that gives you chills or something. Makes the hair crawl on your skin. So I think the shock value of Eminem is definitely gonna still be there, but it's just getting better."

Eminem will come out with a bang on his first single, "Without Me," which his Interscope Records spokesperson said was reminiscent of the lead singles from The Slim Shady LP ("My Name Is") and The Marshall Mathers LP ("The Real Slim Shady"). A video for "Without Me," which was produced by Eminem, will be shot next week.

"His production skills are getting really nice," Dre said. "I think there is one song that has Nate Dogg on it, but most of the album is just him. He's singing a lot. He's singing and doing a lot of his own choruses and harmonies. The whole nine yards."

R&B singer Truth Hurts, Dr. Dre's latest protégé, said she recorded vocals for The Eminem Show several months ago in Detroit.

"It came out hot," she said. "I think it is kind of a spinoff of Rockwell's 'Somebody's Watching Me,' 'cause I remember singing those melodies. We did that a while ago, before he started getting into the record full-force, so I don't know what songs he's going to use. Hopefully that's one of them."

Legendary rapper Rakim, who recently signed with Dre's Aftermath Records, said he'll likely make a list-minute contribution.

"He's got a joint that he said has got my name on it," Rakim said. "It is like a family thing over here. I respect Em a lot. When Em flows, you hear skills, you hear words that a lot of brothers forgot about sometimes. That's what it is all about."

Rakim has heard a few tracks from Eminem's album and said to expect even more clever rhymes and twisted humor.

"I am not going to say he cleaned nothing up, don't get me wrong, but he's definitely speaking at a different level," Rakim said. "It is more mature, but at the same time it is still Em. He's gonna [make you think], 'Man, he said that?' Put it this way: he stepped the skills up."

Noone has mentioned the eminent battle between these two.  Canibus dissed Em all over his last release, "C True Hollywood...".  I doubt if Em will let that slide, and at this point my money is on Eminem come out on top.  'Bus seems to be sliding backwards a little lately and not really pushing himself lyrically.  we shall see.  And of course Bubba keeps poking at Em with that song he did on SNL.  Em could kill retardo-bubba with a few words.

Whut whut? Bubba dissed Eminem?
I strongly doubt that, as Bubba said that Eminem made the road for white rappers, and that he would like to work with him.

And I dont see the point in dissing Canibus, as that's what Canibus is sitting around waiting for right now. It'll only make people buy Canibus-cds, and that's probably not what Eminem want.

yeah, it's a real subtle diss on Em, on Bubba's album, (like track 4 or 6?) saying something like "I can see why they gonna hate us, walking around like 'break us' " and he imitates that loudspeaker vocal effect that Em uses on his last single, then saying "Say what", like it's unintelligable.  He is basically trying to say that Em is in everyones face causing trouble and he can see why black rappers would hate him because of that, and he needs to be more calm and respectful.  But then Bubba goes on the net saying that he respects Em, and THEN goes and performs this same song on Saturday Night Live again.  Whatever, retardo, Ems gonna getcha.

He went on to reveal that the new Eminem album would showcase a more mature side to the rapper. ‘Expect the same stuff Eminem has bought in the past, just a lot more mature,’ said Proof. ‘If you think Eminem has spoken on every topic you can think of, he brings some new ones. The skills and the talent are even more evident on this one.’

Proof added that the album wasn’t heavy on guest rappers: ‘The only guest spots are Obie Trice, D12 and Nate Dogg. No one else. There's also a lot more diss tracks on there. But I can't tell you who, that's a surprise.’

EMINEM has said that his new album 'THE EMINEM SHOW' has been influenced by '70s rock.
The album, the rapper's third solo effort, is due for release on June 3, with a single 'Without Me' to precede it on May 20. Speaking in the current issue of The Face, the controversial rapper claimed that the likes of "Led Zeppelin or Aerosmith" have been an influence on how the record sounds.

He said: "I don't know if I succeeded or not but I was trying to capture like a '70s rock vibe for most of it. We treated this record like it was a rock record in so far as how it's produced. It's, like, loud.

"There's a lot of guitars in it. There's a lot of hiphop shit, too. Like, strictly hiphop shit. I tried to get the best of both worlds. But I listened to a lot of '70s rock growing up, when I was real little. When I go back and listen to them songs, like Led Zeppelin or Aerosmith or Jimi Hendrix...'70s rock had this incredible feel to it."

Eminem has co-produced the record with long-time collaborator Dr Dre. Tracks that feature on the album are set to include 'Without Me', 'Business', 'Dream On', 'Collapse' and 'Hailie's Song'.

Eminem confessed that the drama in his life has been an inspiration. He commented: "It's like I need drama in my life to inspire me a lot, instead of just trying to reach for something. Last year was a really rough year for me. You know, divorce and trying to raise my little girl. Obstacles are thrown at me - you've just got to fall or you don't fall. And I can't fall."

Eminem dresses up like Osama bin Laden and spoofs "The Sally Jesse Raphael Show" in the video for his new single, "Without Me."

Slim Shady shot the clip for the first single from The Eminem Show in Los Angeles last weekend with director Joseph Kahn (Britney Spears, DMX), according to his Interscope Records spokesperson. Dr. Dre, D12 and Obie Trice, a new Shady Records artist, appear in the video.

"Without Me," which is scheduled to debut at radio outlets later this month, was described by a spokesperson as reminiscent of the lead singles from The Slim Shady LP ("My Name Is") and The Marshall Mathers LP ("The Real Slim Shady").

While The Eminem Show, which is due June 4 (moved from May 2, will include some production from Dr. Dre, Eminem worked the boards on his own for most of the tracks (see "The Doc's Diagnosis: Eminem Still Crazy").

The video for "Without Me" will debut on an episode of MTV's "Making the Video" in early May.

Eminem and D12 are scheduled to perform on "Saturday Night Live" on May 11.

EMINEM’S RAP SHEET

Slim Shady Returns With New Album, Film

April 23, 2002

Welcome back, Em. Things have been really dull since you’ve been gone.

Rap superstar Eminem has been awfully quiet lately—except for the occasional $100k settlement with the guy who kissed his wife, or getting sued by a French composer for copyright infringement.

But the artist known variously as Marshall Mathers and Slim Shady is ready to return with a vengeance—as well as a brand-new album and biopic.

His new Interscope album, The Eminem Show, will hit streets June 4 (moved back from its original 5/28 date), with first single "Without Me" being described as in the vein of such smashes as "My Name Is" and "The Real Slim Shady." It’s Em’s first solo effort since The Marshall Mathers LP bowed May 23, 2000, with a record-shattering 1.8 million in sales on its way to a current OTC total of 8.7 million.

The video for "Without Me" was shot in L.A. recently by Joseph Kahn (Britney Spears, DMX, Moby’s new "We Are All Made of Stars"), and features Dr. Dre along with Shady Records artists D12 and new signing Obie Trice, all of whom also contribute to the album. In the clip, Eminem reportedly dresses up as Osama bin Laden and does a take-off on The Sally Jesse Raphael Show. It’s slated to debut next Monday (4/29) on an episode of MTV’s Making the Video.

"Without Me" goes to radio on 4/26, while Eminem and D12 will perform on Saturday Night Live 5/11, hosted by Kirsten Dunst. A summer tour is also planned with Ludacris, Papa Roach, Xzibit and X-ecutioners, running July 24-Sept. 12.

Dr. Dre produced four tracks on the new record, with Eminem behind the boards for a majority of the rest; Dre also appears on one song with Em ("What You Say," the b-side to the single), while Nate Dogg makes a cameo on "Till I Collapse." "Cleaning Out My Closet," heard on the trailer to Universal’s upcoming Eminem biopic, 8 Mile, is also on the album.

The movie, named after a street in the rapper’s Detroit hometown, hits theaters Nov. 8. Produced by Oscar winner Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind) and directed by Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential, Wonder Boys), the film boasts Em playing a young Detroit rapper named Jimmy Smith Jr., "who struggles with his anger through music." It co-stars Kim Basinger as his notorious mom (spurring tabloid rumors of an on-set romance), Britanny Murphy (the "I’ll never tell" girl from Don’t Say a Word) as his wife and E.R.’s Mekhi Phifer, along with Dr. Dre and Xzibit.

There will be a separate soundtrack release, which will include "three or four new Eminem songs," according to manager Paul Rosenberg, between gulps of chicken soup. "People are not going to believe it, but The Eminem Show is his best record yet—no question about it. It’s the most consistent from beginning to end, and shows more growth than either of the other two."

DRE IS SETTING IT OFF WITH JERMAINE DUPRI...

DR. DRE is not one to shy away from speaking his mind, and he's speaking his mind in calling out JERMAINE DUPRI for a verbal war. Dr. Dre is going after So So Def CEO Dupri on Eminem's new album "The Eminem Show" which is set to be released June 4th. On the song "What You Say," Dre comes for Jermaine with the lyrics, "Over 80 million records sold, and I didn't have to do it with 10 and 11 year olds." WOW!! Then he curses at Jermaine saying adding, "F_ _ _ Jermaine" in the song. Do you ask WHY Dre is coming for Jermain this hard? Well, it appears that Dre is upset by a comment Jermaine's made complaining about not being considered a great producer like Dre and TIMBALAND. So I guess this is how Dre responds to that statement. Let's see if Jermaine comes back with anything. But in the meantime, Dre is busy producing albums by his newest discovery TRUTH HURTS (which was #8 on Flex's top 8@8 yesterday may I add), and he is also working with rap pioneer RAKIM from the duo ERIC B & RAKIM. He's also in the process of recording what he calls a hip-hop musical called "Detox" which he says will be his final album as an artist. As for Jermaine you can see him perform with LUDACRIS on BET's "Spring Bling," tomorrow night and he also appearing Sunday night on a hip-hop version of NBC's "Weakest Link."

back to the topic in which we were discussing whether or not bubba ever dissed eminem...i think he is trying to get at em someway whether good or bad because if you listen to the song 'ugly' u'll notice that he says this:
'i said my momma, it seems as if i love her don't it'

we all know that em doesn't like hit mother at all so do you think that was aimed at em in anyway? i'm not necessarily meaning as a diss though, what do yall think, peace.

That would be to stretch it pretty far, if you should interpreter every line he says, you could twist it so that even a love song sounds like a diss track.

Yeah, I wouldn't call Sparky's words a diss, but he is definately poking at Mr. Shady with disdain.  Why even refer  to Em at all?  I really hope Blubba gets a spanking on June 4th.  I think he was overrated to begin with.  Without Timmy what would he be?...

HipHopSite:  Whoever the responsible parties are for keeping such a tight lid on Eminem’s anxiously awaited The Eminem Show should be personally appointed to the Homeland Safety committee. In this day and age of bootlegging and CD burning, if you can keep an LP off the net two-months before it drops, you’re doing something right and as big as this release is----fuhgataboutit… Also, a little scuttle about Em’s new LP, apparently for the video to “Without Me” Eminem dresses up like Bin Laden, Batman & Robin and Moby? Lastly, word is Em has collaborated on a track with Rakim, which is entitled “Collapse.”

"Without Me" starts with lines referring to a song by Canibus, from "C-True Hollywood..."

that "round the outside, round the outside" thing.

I don't know what it means... I thought it was a line out of "The Catcher In The Rye".

It's an old hip hop related song called "Buffalo Girls". I can't remember who did it but I remember seeing the video when I was young.

The "boogeyman of rap" is busting his gun, pistol-whipping one of his cheating mate's lovers, contemplating other grisly forms of violence and taking a leak on the White House lawn — and that's just by the midpoint of The Eminem Show. Yes, ladies and gents, "Shady's back," as he proclaims in his first single, "Without Me," and Eminem still has a lot to vent.

As soon as the curtain opens on Em's third solo album, it's clear all of the rapper's frustrations that have been building up over the last two years since The Marshall Mathers LP are going to explode out of the speakers.

"White America," the first song on the album, is a satirical look at why he's seen as the Big Bad Wolf with a mic. "Hip-hop is never a problem in Harlem, only in Boston," he says. Em concedes that if he were African American, maybe people wouldn't be as fascinated with him and that his record sales would probably be cut in half.

But the Eminem phenomenon is deeper than black and white. Besides being one of the best to step into the vocal booth and have his thoughts resonate, many kids give him love because they see a reflection of themselves when they look at Slim Shady. "I go to 'TRL,' look how many hugs I get," he taunts his detractors. What's most scary to parents, however, according to the 28-year-old, is that they too see the similarities between the Detroit rapper and their own children.

"I could be one of your kids," he tells them. "... Little Erick looks just like me/ Erica loves my sh--," he continues before closing with remarks about urinating on the White House's grass.

"Business" commences with a short skit featuring Em and special guest Dr. Dre speaking like Batman and Robin, promising to thwart the villainous wack rappers and save the day. "Marshaaalll," a woman repeatedly sings, reminiscent of a TV show intro. Meanwhile, Em switches his voice to a tone not dissimilar from that of a circus ringmaster, readying the listener for his combustible lyrics as the g-funk-tinged bass lines come in.

"Let's get down to business/ I don't have no time to waste/ What is this?" he says on the chorus. "Must be a circus in town/ We shuttin' this sh-- down on these clowns/ Can I get a witness." Em goes on to say he and Dre are the most feared duo since he and Elton John played Russian roulette with their careers two years ago at the Grammy awards.

Gunplay is also a focal point of a skit called "The Kiss." The rapper doesn't mention names, but the events in the interlude are similar to the events police say happened outside the Hot Rock Sports Bar and Music Cafe in Warren, Michigan, in June of 2000 (see "Eminem To Face Weapons, Assault Charges"). Em is now serving probation for carrying an unloaded concealed weapon, stemming from the incident outside the bar where he allegedly beat John Guerra over the head with a pistol because he was kissing Em's wife at the time, Kimberly Mathers. The two parties have since settled their differences in court and Eminem recently agreed to pay Guerra upwards of $100,000 (see "Eminem To Pay $100,000 To Man Who Kissed His Wife").

In "The Kiss," Em is in a car with a friend and he's following his wife. He pulls out a gun and doesn't listen to his friend's warning to put it away. Em tells him there are no bullets in the firearm, and when he sees his girlfriend across the street kissing a man, all chaos breaks out.

The Eminem Show has several other outrageous moments, from Eminem threatening to put anthrax on a woman's Tampax and slapping her with it on the Down South bounce song "Superman," to Bizarre of D12 claiming that his peers' songs have influenced him to commit crimes on the piano-driven "Music Stops." The over-the-top fiction of "Drips" echoes the track "Kim" from The Marshall Mathers LP. Em's pregnant girlfriend has been cheating on him with newcomer Obie Trice and all three have contracted an STD and both rappers recount their dealings with the woman.

Many of the tracks on The Eminem Show were primarily self-produced, resulting in an LP that sounds more rock than g-funk. And unlike The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show finds its star dealing with more reality-based, beleaguering topics, though the three main ladies in his life — his mother, his ex-wife and his daughter, Hailie — are once again the centerpieces.

He may not be in love with prosecutors who want to convict him, as told on "Dream On," which samples the classic Aerosmith cut of the same title, or feel like he gets the props he deserves as he spouts on the Nate Dogg-featured "'Till I Collapse." The fact that he feels people will never see him as just Marshall Mathers again doesn't exactly bring a smile to his face either. But like all leading men, he finds that inner strength to come out on top, even if his mother and ex have permanently scarred him. His daughter makes everything worth it.

"When I see my baby I'm not crazy anymore," he croons on "Hailie's Song." Throughout the track, the rapper literally sings the praises of his child. He sometimes feels the world is over and his insecurities could eat him alive, but watching his daughter fills him with pride.

got it.  listened to it.  To me it has some bright shining moments when I reach for rewind, but mostly his delivery is a little annoying.  I was hoping for more vocal range, lyric complexity, and the content of the lyrics got a little old.  I don't give a shit about Kim or Debbie.  I personally thought almost all of the chorus's were annoying.  I think all the hype has hurt this album.  It could never meet up with expectations.  BTW, I know Em is off drugs; is that weed too?  Weed is needed here.  I give this album 3 mics.

actually it is already growing on me, like a mold.  I'm starting to like it more.  That was the same with the MMLP too though.  Kinda surprised that Can-I-Bitch wasn't punked harder though.  I guess he played himself in the end by devoting so much of his album to Em.  It'll heat up soon enough.  I still think Say What You Say is weak, especially Dres verse, but Soldier and SquerDance are very unique.
