Doggy brought up a great point the other day...most people don't have the urge to kill. But many of us do. The thing that stops many people from killing is our sanity and ability to tell right from wrong. Who here ever feels like killing?

sometime i try and think of what it feels like to kill someone..like what do serial killers feel when they take a life? they must get some sort of rush or "high" or something like that. if they didnt, they wouldnt keep killing, right?
but then when i picture a scenario of me killing someone, i start to think about the persons family..mother, father, wife, CHILDREN..and the thought quickly exits my mind.

Never, the other night I had a dream I killed my uncles wife (which is weird because I get along with her and like her) anyways, I was so sad and nervous telling myself "how am I ever going to sleep at night?" "how will I ever forgive myself??" and then I woke up with a cold sweat thanking god I never killed anyone lol. HOWEVER, I would easily kill someone if they did anything to hurt (murder, rape) me or my loved ones.

No. that shit (the urge to kill,maim) is some childish shit. unless it's for terrorism or war or retribution for something really extreme, I don't agree with it. I bet you 9/10 people on here saying they got those feelings are sensitive and close minded, once you evaluate the situation or person that makes you want to kill and examine it next to some other (real) problems in the world, your shit looks petty really quick. like say, "that fuckhead j bananas picks on me at dubcc and if i ever meet him i will tap his jaw and cut him up", boo fuckin hoo, your fragile ego took a sting, you need thicker skin in this world.

im mad enough to kill but i think i would be crazier after that and plus im afraid of god, i would never get over it thats why i dont redrum muthafuckas, if there was no religion and all that i would fuckin kill almost person a day.but i wonder how motherfuckers can behead people thats nasty and crazy.how have motherfuckers the urge to kill someone in that way and still sleep at night?

Sometimes I do, after someone's really really pissed me off. But no guns or knives, just pure fisticuffs.
It's a controllable urge though, and I doubt I would ever follow it through unless I was tripping off absinthe or something lol.

i threw a rock in his eye earlier during the break when we was playing outside in the schoolyard. he had a black eye and i spent the rest of the day acting all tough to my little friends and calling him a sissy. started throwing erasers at him, and the kid snapped. lol.

...now, about the subject... I think deep down many people may feel the urge...if people didnt , then entertainment would not be saturated with violence.
Look at Eminem's "Kim" and "97 Bonnie and Clyde", a man gets so mad at his girlfriend he fantasizes about killing her.
I see it from the perspective of man's desire to exert his will over others, and its an ultimate expression of that.
btw... the biggest serial killers are in the US military, I always thought it was strange that people consider a hardened killer in a street gang a serial killer yet they don't consider a military man in the same way. Why? Just because it's sanctioned by the state? Does that mean that George Bush determines right and wrong, good and evil?

That is actually a very good point you're making there. However, some nuance applies... Remember that people join the army by their voluntary choice. That's like going bungee jumping: you're not supposed to die, but if the cord snaps... You're aware of the risks. Add to that the fact that the army is only supposed to kill hostile enemy forces, NOT their civilians (which would be considered a war crime). In other words: mindless fools who submit their lives to the service of "The Great Ideal of Peace and Freedom" die because other similar minded yet opposing fools shoot them. They could have chosen not to become cannon fodder, but they assumed their volitional roles. Since they don't value their own lives (hence why they're willing to submit them to the whims of some army commander for the sake of an ideal greater than themselves), they get just what they were looking for. Death.
Now I know there's plenty of armies composed of involuntary soldiers, but they were put in that position because of their acceptance of corrupted governmental systems. They could have run, they could have started riots and revolutions, but they didn't. Harsh as it may seem, nobody's to blame but their own people.
Anyway, are people in the military some of the biggest serial killers? Yes, but at least they (supposedly) kill their own kind, who actually chose to submit to the risks.

I have no urge to kill somebody, but sometimes i do have dreams of killing. I had a dream recently about strangling my girlfriends 2 year old daughter in her crib. I remember thinking why am i doing this? Then i woke up so relieved that it was a dream. I also have a lot of dawn of the dead dreams where i go around blowing away zombies n shit.

Good points...But stupidity upsets me like nothing else. Some of these drivers out there are stupid as fuck and I can't help but get pissed off. Then I get the sudden urge to strangle them or beat their face into a bloody pulp, though I'd never actually do it. But yea, death is death, and the military killin' muthafuckaz is no exception.

Road rage can be dangerous though. The other examples you listed are just annoying things that can happen to you. While road rage literally affects your driving skills.

Personally I don't have the urge to kill, but for some reason the death of humans doesn't phase me. When 9/11 happened, I wasn't horrified. When the tsunami a few years ago killed 200,000 people, I felt pretty bad. When the DC sniper was killing people, I found it exciting. When the Virgina Tech shooting happened, I was saddened (myself being a university student). And most recently when the China earthquake and Burma cyclone killed 100,000, I was shocked.
The thing that bothers me is, you watch the news and they spend hours talking about a pregnant mother getting killed. And they spend 5 minutes on "100,000 people died in Burma today." It pisses me off that when an American dies, it's headline news for weeks. But when thousands of people in a "non-white" country die, no one cares. Oh no an American soldier died in Iraq... what a fucking travesty... Except for the fact hundreds of thousands just died in a 3rd world country. Think about it, a hundred thousand people just like you died from a hurricane, and we more or less, don't really care. We go about our days. That's society.
It's driven me to (I don't want to say "not care" ), but care less when Americans die. Since we devalue the lives of others, and glorify the lives of ourselves. I'm a Canadian and get a majority of US news. It just bugs me when you hear people horrified over a few people dieing in this country, while thousands died over seas. Out of site out of mind I guess.
I find myself very indifferent to our species. Like when a cougar kills a person, I'm outraged they kill the cougar. The things humans do (pollute, drive species to extinction, destroy our planet) makes me angry. And something tells me, we as a society deserve to experience death. We aren't a very respectful species. We don't treat our planet with respect. So in some ways we "have it coming". I'm not an evil person, but really I find our species as a whole very selfish, and ignorant to long term problems. And if horrific things happen to us in the future, we shouldn't be surprised.
