Title: GANGSTARR- who here FEELS them?
Post by: teecee on August 12, 2002, 06:32:13 AM: I was just wondering what everyone thinks of them because people don't really talk abou them a lot......

Everyone talks about Premo's songs for other people, but to me his outside collaborations with other artists do not represent his potential and overall talent as they are always the same (chopped up lyrics scratched into the chorus). To me, Premo's latest work has been like Dre's- still dope but VERY repetitive. THat is why i love Gangstarr albums, Premo comes creative and experiments with different sounds. Add Guru to the mix, and you always get an INCREDIBLE album. To me, Guru is a great MC.....he is monotone so he isn't for everyone, but if you like insightful and mature lyrics that provoke deep though and retrospect, then Guru is for you.

I don't think Gangstarr has ever had an album under 4/5, and i am sure there next album will be incredible......

& to answer the Q, I think most peeps in here, including myself feel Gangstarr. Premo is on of my fav. producers and imo as an MC Guru is one of the greats, a very prolific lyracist. And like someone else said, his vocals compliment Premo's beats perfectly.

Moment Of Truth and Hard To Earn are both amoung my favorites... cant wait for the new one.
