For those that don't know EAC is the same shit as grouprip, if not even better.

Yayo's verse on Close To Me has to be one of the most annoying things I've experienced in my life.

After a quick skim through, its not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. He really needs to get some major producers on there because it is really starting to show now that 50 is on some budget shit.

after the 1st time through, it isnt all that great. not that i expected it to be. out of 16 songs, there are some good songs, some average songs, and just some flat out TERRIBLE songs. no stand out song IMO.

1. Straight Outta Southside (4/5)
2. Piano Man (4/5)
3. Close To Me (2.5/5)
4. Rider Pt.2 (3/5)...could be higher but this song is dumb old.
5. Casualties Of War (3.5/5)
6. You So Tough (3/5)
7. No Days Off (4/5)
8. T.O.S. (3.5/5) Banks kills it (in a good way lol) IMO
9. I Like The Way She Do It (2.5/5)
10. Kitty Kat (1/5) lol...what were they thinking?
11. Party Aint Over (3/5)
12. Let It Go (2.5/5)
13. Get Down (3/5)
14. I Dont Wanna Talk About It (3.5/5)

1. Straight Outta South Side - 5/5 - GREAT opener; cant really have a better opening track. Great remake and the unit does a good job with it. Banks straight murders it; Yayo was pretty hot; 50 came kind of weak, but still one hell of a track.

2. Piano Man - 4.5/5 - crazy ass beat, wow. Definitely one of the best beats on the album. Yayo's verse was decent, 50 did a great job on the hook; great double meaning, cool concept haha. Banks was alright, heard better from him. Buck came hard as hell, he had the best verse on this track hands down.

3. Close to me - 2.25/5 - First filler; should of known the first two tracks were too good to be true lol..the beat is pretty damn simple and the hook is pretty damn bad, wow. 50 actually came cool with his verse on this one. Banks was average as fuck. Yayo was wack as hell on this, wow. Hopefully one of the worse tracks on the album.

4. Rider Pt.2 - 3.5/5 - Beat banging as fuck. Hook is cool but doesnt really need auto tone. 50 came alright with his verse; Buck spit a pretty damn good verse. Banks is next and came too simple with his verse. Yayo also came pretty simple but the song is decent overall.

5. Casualties of War - 4.75/5 - Beat is sick as fuck; the hook would be amazing without 50 stressing the words so much; hook is still pretty damn good. 50 came dope as fuck on his verse, need more 50 verses like this. Banks came tight as fuck as well with his verse, glad to see he still has it in him. Yayo spit a damn hot verse as well; wish buck was on this one. THIS is the 50/G-Unit I miss :-X

6. You So Tough - 4/5 - beat is good but kind of simple; 50 does a good hook besides the "you so tough" being kind of annoying. Banks spit a hot verse though. Yayo had a nice flow on this and his lyrics were straight fa sho. 50 came hard 2, the TI diss isnt really needed :-X

7. No Days Off - 4.25/5 - beat is dope and banks drops a dope ass hook fa sho; 50s hook on this isnt that good. 50 dropped a wack verse. Yayo dropped a pretty good verse, nice to hear spit nice. Banks spit dope as well on this; lol at the lil wayne jab.

8. TOS - 3.5/5 - the beat is kind of weird and way too repetitive; 50s hook is average. 50s verse was alright; ups and downs. Banks absolutely murdered this ridiculously, wow; maybe the best verse on the whole album. the flow to the lyrics were completely on point. Yayo came kind of wack, 2 damn bad.

9. I Like the way she do it - 3.25/5 -  y'all already heard this one; the lead single. Not too much to be said besides it being corny and cheesy.

10. Kitty Kat - 2.5/5 - the beat is a banger but wow that hook by the girl is one of the most annoying hooks i've ever heard, hands down. Yayo's verse was bad as was the bridge after it. 50 was straight annoying. Banks came the best on this. Another filler though.

11. Party Ain't Over - 2.25/5 - Old and not really sure why they still put it on the album; beat is annoying and the hook is iight at best. Another bullshit mainstream filler lol; even worse than kitty kat.

12. Let It Go - 2.5/5 - Beat is alright. Mavado's hook is kind of annoyin; as is Banks' verse. Sounds like a throwaway mixtape track that somehow made its way to the album.

13. Get Down - 2/5 - And yet another mainstream terrible track lol; terrible Swizz Beats beat (I hate this guy's beats) and the 50 hook is beyond simple and annoying.

14. I Don't Wanna Talk Bout It - 3/5 - Beat is cool as is hook. Everything is pretty average; somewhere in the middle on this one. Far from the best on the album but FAR from the worst.

15. Ready or Not - 4.5/5 - good beat and hook; Banks kills this shit with his verse. Yayo MURDERED his verse as well, damn. Banks' 2nd verse was dope as well; good to see a good cut late into the album after it really fell off around track 9.

16. - Money Make the World Go Round - 4.75/5 - beat is nice and dark and yayo dropped a really good hook. Yayo and Banks killed their verses; nice way to close out the album big time.

All in all the album shows flashes of the old gunit with the dope gutter music (1,2,5,6,7,15,16) but there's also flashes of the new "i dont give a fuck about quality" and "the bitches" G-unit (3,9,10,11,13)

overall rating: 6/10

LOL u analyze shit way too much, no surprise its with me though. It's a dope ass track - cool idea and they worked it perfectly. Not (yet) to be compared to classics like "aint no fun"

Aint No Fun > This

This album is pretty good, 7 out of 10. It's like most albums, few good ones, lots of mediocre tracks, and a few un-listenable ones. The beats are all pretty nice, except Swizz Beat's, nothing spectacular though. Banks really shines on this, he's obviously the best of the three lyrically now. 50 sounds lazy, and his hooks suck. Yayo sucks as usual, with one or two good verses.

Not enough Buck, and too many 50 hooks. But compared to most mainstream albums, this isn't that bad.

If you could read, which I assume you can't, saying an album is "7/10" is hardly being brain washed.

1. Straight Outta Southside - great opening track. Beat is pure heat, Ron Brownz is one talented dude. They all flowed great and sounded hungry, 50 was kinda weak 4,5/5

2. Piano Man - Tha Bizness are slowly becoming one of my fav producers, great production, many variations, especially in the chours. Dope hook from 50, Yayo was average, Banks sounds energetic again, good stuff. Buck was alright, heard much better from him. 4/5

3. Close To Me - banging production IMO, Dangerous LLC know how to make hits. Track has a very simillar vibe to Window Shopper, especially the way 50 flows. 50 sounds good, in his "club banger" zone, doesn't sound forced. Nice hook from Banks, he came correct too but fucking Yayo ruined it completley. Out of all the bullshit club/chick songs they dropped lately, this one sounds nice. 2,5/5 (would be higher if it wasn't for Yayo)

4. Ryder Part 2 - should've stayed a mixtape track. Boring, cheap and repetitive beat. 2/5

5. Casulties Of War - I haven't heard of this dude before be he got heat, sounds Dre-ish. 50 sounds good again surprisingly, actually hungry, the chours sucks though. Nice lil breakdown before Banks spits, g ood flow again but he didn't say shit. Yayo was alright. 3,5/5

6. You So Tough - another dope production from the same dude, reminds me of My Buddy from BFM. Again a wack chours, they all came correct, 50 surprised me again with the more energetic flow, not the lazy one. 4/5

7. No Days Off - cheap production this time, weak chours again. Finally some subject matter, especially from Banks. 4/5

8. T.O.S. - another cheap production, awful production. 50 was wack, same shit about guns as always, wack chours. Banks killed it though, Yayo was annoying again. 2/5

9. I Like The Way She Do It - garbage, same old predictable single from G-Unit. 2/5

10. Kitty Kat - banging beat, Polow dope as always. Awful chours.. Yayo wack, Banks fell asleep in the middle of the verse. 50 was the only one that sounded listenable, kinda switched his flow up, this should've been his solo track. 2,5/5

11. Party Ain't Over - another cheap production. Another annoying Yayo verse, emphasizing words like a retard. Horrible chours again. Buck was dope as hell, he is gonna be missed for sure 2/5

12. Let It Go - yet another 2 dollar production. Sounds like a mixtape track 1/5

13. Get Down - even Swizzy gave them one of the most cheapest sounding beats. Garbage chours again. But they always sound good going back and forth like this, so that's a plus. With better production and chours this could've been much better. 2,5/5

14. I Don't Wanna Talk About It - finally a dope beat and chours. But lol at putting this on the cd, after being on the net for 6 months. 2,5/5

15. Ready Or Not - sounds like a Rotten Apple leftover. Next. 2/5

16. Money Make The World Go Round - Ron Brownz is the shit, haven't heard a wack beat from him. Finally a track with some substance! Yayo sounds really good on this. Shame Buck and 50 ain't on it 4,5/5

Overall, I'd give it a 2,75/5

The problems:

a) The biggest one: this album probably has the budget of a Koch record. Most of the time the production sounds so cheap it makes me wanna cry. Damn 50, you got some much money but don't spend anything on the album. It just shows that rap is not his priority anymore.

b) 50's hook game has fallen off since Curtis

c) Same subject matter all the time: guns, chicks, money. I can't believe that they don't see that everytime they don something with substance it's getting great feedback (Smile, Hate It Or.., Money Make The World...)

d) It sounds like no effort whatsoever was put into this album, like it was made in 2 months and like 50 couldn't care less. Maybe he's trying to get off Interscope as fast as possible but it's hurting his music (Curtis and this sound so rushed)

e) Lot's of Yayo, no Buck.

f) Lot's of Yayo, no Buck.

g) Lot's of Yayo, no Buck.

h) Lot's of Yayo, no Buck.

There's a few good songs on it but overall G-Unit is not bringin the same heat as they did with Beg For Mercy. And almost no big name producers, this is bound to flop compared to the first one!

The album was ight, nothing special, oviously it doesnt compare to BFM. It had a handful of dope songs but thats about it. I agree with everything Meho said, good review brah. The production was pretty damn brutal, only like 2 3 songs with good beats. 50's hook game as HELLA gone down, it sounds like he makes them in like 2 minutes. Buck was the best on this oviously, Yayo was ight on this, not 2 bad, Banks was dope, and 50 sounded pretty energetic on some songs but lazy on others. Overall, id give the album a 3/5 and thats pretty generous. I dont think this albums gonna sell more then 100k the first week. Im thinking a 70-90k first week!!!

U guys are KIDDIN RIGHT??

LETS GO BACK TO GRODT, MANY ONLY A HANDFUL (4-5) WERE 5/5 TRACKS

LETS GOTO BEG FOR MERCY, NOT ONE OF THEM WAS 5/5,  U COULD ARGUE I GUESS.

THERE IS NO WAY ANY OF THESE SONGS TOUCH ON A SINGLE JOINT OFF BEG FOR MERCY, so how the fuck could some of yall be giving songs 5/5, 4.5/5

That shit is disgusting..  And I heard the album, the best track is Straight Outta Southside, which is a SOLID 4/5.   Second is Like the Way She Do it which is like 3 or 3.5...

This album has no chemistry, there's no definite sound to the songs.  G-Unit haven't grown at all from their last effort..

6/10 is a Decent ranking for this album..  5/5 is classic.  None of yall are gonna be bumpin STRAIGHT OUTTA SOUTHSIDE in a year, c'mon now...  None of these songs have any long-lasting meaning or depth to them, that is what is gonna make u listen to a song over and over...

Start ranking based on the entire Music game, not based on G-Unit standards..  Becuz whether u like it or not, that is a BIASED opinion when u do that.

I am ranking based on the entire music game lol, not G-Unit. Because if the ratings were based on the individual, every cd from the past 2,3 years, except few exceptiopns would get 2/5 for every track. The mainstream rap game sucks so much right now that's why some tracks have a different rating. If this was released 5 years ago, every track would get 2/5 or worse.

So yeah, Straight Outta Southside, Piano Man, You So Tough, No Days Off and Money Make The World Go Round are definetly above average, considering todays mainstream rap. And I choose those 5 tracks because they are the only ones that I can picture being on Beg For Mercy.

So you're rating based on what u feel is the average par for what a rap song should be nowadays?

I've heard classics.  Some came from 89 (Rakim), some came from 93 (Snoop) some came from 96 (Jay) some came from 01 (Nas) some came from 03 (Budden).   That's not based on how the game was in those years.  Those are based on what the song was, a solid joint that I could listen to over and over again and find nothing wrong with it.

What you're saying is that is that ur all time fav songs are only ranked that high cuz of the time-period they dropped in, and that if they dropped in a different year or state of Hip-hip it wouldn't be as good?

Doesn't make sense...  Good songs are good songs.  Bad songs are bad songs.  No matter whether it's mainstream, 1990, 2000...   Don't let ur expectations be lowered just cuz good shit isnt coming out as much anymore or ur genre of Hip-Hop is getting stale..

If this was the 91-05 era I would agree with you. But since 06 the mainstream rap game sucks so much, that if I hadn't lowered my standards, I wouldn't listen to any mainstream rap music at all.

It's the same with movies, sports, tv shows. If I had the same standard as before I would do nothing but bitch and complain.

6/10 is a fair rating

So what's wrong with still checking everything, and if its trash its trash.. And just enjoy the older songs u have?  The drought can't last forever, and if ur like me and I know u are.. U gotta gang of songs on ur harddrive from years past to listen to...

I see ur point tho.. The stimulation of a new song, from artists u enjoy...  But sometimes the classics were made for a reason, to listen to when there's a lack of good music coming out...

Ya dig?

The only track I liked was I like the way she do it - and fuck it, I'm not afraid to admit I like dumb tracks like that. Good beat and good hook = one of the few listenable tracks on this disc.

There's some other ones on there... but the songs that people are calling "good", really should only be filler, and the worst kind of filler at that.

I'll just throw I like the Way she Do it onto my copy of Curtis and call it a day.

Uhhh.. I totally disagree with that. If you compared every song that comes out today to the classics in the early 90's every track released in the last 5 years would be 3/5, 2/5. What song from a major album this year even compares to the 90's? None. You can't just say, this whole album is wack because it isn't as good as music being made 15 years ago.

You have mad high expectations. The fact is, music today sucks, all of it, to what you're comparing it to. But by todays standards, this album is a solid 3/5. I listened to this whole album, and it's not that bad compared to what else I've heard. I'd go so far as saying, this is the best album I've heard this year. Which wouldn't be too surprising since most music is around this quality.

If you take this album for what it is, comparing it to music these days, it's not that bad. And 5/5 tracks on BFM? Poppin them thangs and G'd Up are probably as close to 5/5 songs you get these days. What songs made this year are 5/5 compared to Rakim, or Cube 15 years ago? None. You need to compare relative to something.

Do you bump anything from Jay-Z's last album, or Nas's? Probably not. No music today really spans more then 6 months, except of course if one of your favorite artists release something. I been bumpin WC's last album since it was released. But you're talking like just G-Unit is releasing bad music. Everyone is releasing shit. And this album is no worse then Lil Waynes, or Snoop's or whatever else was released this year.

"Do you bump anything from Jay-Z's last album, or Nas's? "  Not from Jay'z..  From Nas's yes..  Blunt Ashes.. Cant Forget about U..

"No music today really spans more then 6 months" U just proved my point..  The music is stale now, so why bump ur expectations down to the ground?  Good songs come few and far rite now, but they do come.  I ain't gonna make songs out to be better than they are just cuz they are coming out in 2008..

"Everyone is releasing shit. And this album is no worse then Lil Waynes, or Snoop's or whatever else was released this year."  Yes I know that, and I didn't keep anything from The Carter 3, I kept the first track off Snoops...

" But by todays standards, this album is a solid 3/5."  Today's standards???  So u saying it's not possible to make a good or 5/5 or classic songs nowadays?  U wrong man...  It is, it's just that Snoop, Wayne, G-Unit ARENT the ones doing it.....  That's my point...

"What song from a major album this year even compares to the 90's?"  Not alot, which is why I kept it real with my critiquing and none of these songs got 5/5......  Geeeeez.

IT'S LIKE THERE HAS TO BE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF GOOD SONGS ON AN ALBUM FOR YALL.  ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO PUT OUT A SHITTY CD ANYMORE???

^ I hate that Lil Wayne garbage, worst shit in the world. I like Bank's verses on this album, stand out more then any other mainstream I heard this year. This ain't album of the year, but to me, so far, I haven't heard anything better then this, and I download at least 10 albums a week.

So if u dont meet ur quota of "Good albums" for the week, u just pick the best one and roll with it?  Nah, if all the albums that come out in that week are shitty, they are shitty..  U dont NEED to have the "good songs" of the week, cuz quite frankly, sometimes there arent!

That's how the mainstream got like this, ppl stop caring about the content and just picked the best of the garbage and rolled with it..  So then the artists think that their shit's hot..  We needa keep it real and put our foot down, or else they just gonna keep feeding us THIS garbage...

Don't let ur expectations be lowered just cuz good shit isnt coming out as much anymore or ur genre of Hip-Hop is getting stale..

In the last 2 years, not one..  Joell Ortiz The Brick is close, but not quite..   Army of the Pharaohs - Ritual of Battle was another one..   There's only about 7 5/5 albums in my listening history tho...
