I love this fuckin album. I think i listened to this non stop for 3 months straight, even some of tha songs skip cuz i listened to it so much. Why does every1 hate though. Most of us bitch about how much we hate pop acts, em finally puts it down on wax, an every1 hates. Every1 hates on him for talkin about killin his wife an other women. Its alright for eazy-e to talk about killin ho's but eminem talks about killing his wife an mom, an every1 hates. i dont get it. Every1 talks about tha bull shit he rapped about on tha album, but no1 mentions songs like stan an tha way i am. No1 mentions how em speaks on how fucked tha rap industry is on tha song marshall mathers. So why does every1 hate on this album.
-
i like it......i was actually bumpin this today....its been a while though, lol
-
i agree 110% with what you just said. People bitch & complain about how he's always talkin about killin his wife etc, or his mom, but he only talks about killin his wife on 2 songs, and his mom on maybe 4 @ the most
-
I agree, MMLP is near classic!
But this should have been in the main forum in it?
I also listened to it 3 months straight, but when you do that, you get pretty tired very soon, but this still has GREAT replay value.
People hate too much if there is radio-friendly joints on a LP.
Real Slim Shady wasn't that bad, it's just that when you've heard it 4000 times, you'll naturally tire of it.
-
i hate this album because it wasn't what i expected from eminem after hearing the sslp. This is not even fucken close to that album. this is IMO at most a 3. Sure he does speak about SOME worthwhile issues but he speaks about too much fucken bullshit on this album and IMO this is the album that made me hate eminem and i still hate him to this day.
-
MMLP is a great album... I liked every track on there expect "Kim"... I still bump it today, one.

LoL, Kim is my favorite track on there
-
LoL, Kim is my favorite track on there
To each his own, but I can't understand that... I can't vibe to that, it's too hostile... it's simply neither a good nor enjoyable song, IMO... btw my favorite on the album was "Amityville"... Eminem's last verse is SICK... one
-
Remember Me is probably favourite track on the album, with Im Back & Kim coming in @ 2nd
-

Yeah "Remember Me?" is tight.. RBX should have never been allowed to rap on it though... he fucks up the song with his wack verse... it should have been a Em/Sticky collabo.. both of their verses is FIRE... there was no need for that big bitch RBX to appear on this track, one

How Can You Not Like "Kim"? This Is One Of Eminems Dopest Song. Some Of My Other Favourites On This Album Are:
Criminal
I'm Back
Marshall Mathers
Who Knew

It's far from one of Eminems dopest songs... as a matter of fact it couldn't be called a "song", it's rather a VERY LONG interlude (6:17)... Eminem doesn't rap on this "song"... but I agree on the other songs you listed, all of those were tight, one

Have You Ever Actually Listened To The Song? Its One Of The Most Emotional Songs Eminems Recorded.
It Has A Chorus. Theres A Lot Of Screaming And Shouting But Theres Verses In There. Listen, To The Start!

He ain't rapping, he's shouting at his "wife" with a fishy story unfolding as the song progesses... oh yeah it has a chrous... but that's all, it's not a rap song... and yeah, you're pretty sick if you actually ENJOY listening to this song... one

I think this album is DOPE fo sho, Eminem Showed all his sides on this shit, he made a "dance/bumpy song" : Drug Ballad, Killa You, Who Knew, Real Slim Shady ( which is the only song I hate ), he came with some oldskoolish/raw shit like remember me ( rbx did actually ocme pretty dope and Sticky too ), or Amityville, he showed a lot of humor, ( almost every song ) his lyrics are amazing, I mean all songs besides The Real Slim Shady are dope. MOst of em aare serious issues..I dunno, IMO its a lot better than the sslp...
-
And about KIM , I think it aint the best song, but definetly a very emotional song..the thing is when I listen to this track, i !LISTEN! to it, I don't lay back to it, Its too busy too much screaming hardly rapped, I think it is a real long interlude like KV said, but I am not saying its bad, its dope, but not a real "song"...my opinion..

I agree with what you said, although I wouldn't call this album "serious" ( in a political sense ;) )... but true, his lyrics are brilliant on every song... Eminem is unquestionably the best lyricist in the game right now, IMO... and yeah "The Real Slim Shady" was a bit too commercial for me too... but Eminem's lyrics were still awesome as ever, even when dissing Will Smith, Britney Spears etc... I think his last verse on "Amityville" was his best lyrical display on the album... one

i luv this fuckin album....
its off tha hook and the first appearances we have of D12
White trash at its best..lololol
I also dont get y people hate on it
-
RBX fucked up Remember Me? I thought it should've been a RBX/Em collabo personally, I was suprised how he used the lines from his Dre diss in it though, tight song anwyay..

Compare RBX's lyrics, flow & delivery to Em/Sticky's, you'll see why I'm saying this... One

WTF? D12 first appeared in 1996 on Eminems "Infinite" (I belive)...There was an underground D12 album in '97 and Bizarres EP "Attack Of the Weirdos" came out in 1998...

Kon Artis did some production on "Infinite". & yeah, D12 had a 10 track underground EP.
-
Also, I gave this album a l'il listen today & I gotta say I forgot how disturbing "Kim" can be! Lol.
-
Does anyone remember what this album got in the Source? I think it was four mics, but I could be wrong. I just know it wasn't five mics cuz on the track "Without Me" he drops some kinda rhyme about not holdin his breath til The Source gives him five mics.

Didn't sales stop at around 6-7-8 million... ? ;D I think so...

3.5 mics. Exactly what it deserved, IMO.

Its a solid album I just got tired of it very quickly. I still listen to SSLP on a regular basis but I just dont listen to MMLP as often.
I can't explain it.

Yeah I feel the same... I get tired of hearing those sick lyrics, they become annoying after a while... I don't even bump MMLP no more, SSLP is definitely the better album IMO, peace
-
I still like MMLP better, probably because of the guest appearances. On the SSLP you don't see peeps like Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Xzibit, etc spittin their flows. I thought B-Please 2 was off the hook. But, just like what ya'll said, after so much this album really died out. I really can't remember the last time that I listened to it, but I know that I listen to it a lot more than the SSLP.
-
MMLP is tight. I played that cd so much when i 1st got it. I dunno why anyone would hate on it. It's a near classic.
-
if you didnt konw the whole "remmeber me" idea came from rbx on his song awol he says the exact same chorus, and on his bonus song on his 1999 release no mercy no remorse
-
it sold 17 million worldwide
also, wasnt Remember Me a leftover from 2001, but they took off Dre and added Em?
-
I don't like it anymore, i used to love this album, but it's one of them that easily gets old after u've bumped it all tha time for months. I wouldn't call it a classic neither, and TSSLP was betta then this LP.
-
MMLP was\is an amazing album...this album had some of tha best structured lyrical cuts EVER...and i repeat EVER....plus to EMs unfadeable flow..KIM is one of tha best storytelling tracks(along wit STAN) you could ever find...the last person who could bring this typa Storytelling heat to yo ears was the one and only- BIGGIE....
-

Yeah his storytelling in "Drug Ballad" & "Kim" was impressive... the album is still too sick though. Biggie would kill Em in battle.

Yeah Pac was also a good storyteller... "Dear Mama" was awesome, actually I think that was Pac's best song ever... however, I don't think he was on Eminem/Biggie's level as a storyteller, or even as a MC.

No replay value. I got bored with it. The only song I play is "The Way I Am".

Word.. accept i think pac was a better storyteller than biggie..
Kim, Drug Ballard & Stan were dope storytellin tracks an Amityville was jus off tha hook IMO.. Is till bump the album every now an again
-

I think he was above both of them on storytelling, "Dear Mama", "Brenda's Got A Baby", "I Ain't Mad At Cha", "Keep Ya Head Up", "Baby Don't Cry", I could go on, are all better than any storytelling track Em or Biggie has ever recorded imo.
-
in conparison to his first album i wouldnt bump it. He does identify himself as a worthy battle rapper cuz he'll hit those in ways that is both comical and damaging to those who start with him (ICP). So over all both albums are great but def give off 2 different styles and i would rather hear infinite or the sslp
-
Out of Em's albums the MMLP is my favorite
-
Out of Em's albums the MMLP is my favorite
-
they about the same in my book... both of em are dope as fuck.
-
second album is iight but his first and his underground i think are his best. The problem with the second album is that its different style and more commercial
-
one of the reasons why i like eminem is cause i can listen to sslp when im in one mood, mmlp in another, infinite, or the eminem show. hes different on all of them. Personally i like the show best, i never understood why that got as much hate as it did. I thought that was the most complete and mature album he had, but nobody likes it. Is it just cause the guitar samples? I dunno there all good in there own way though. Thats what seperates em from other artists, even though some people dont like that hes different on each.
-
it wouldnet have benn called remember me if it wasn't for rbx the whole concept was his
-
RBX had a sick flow on 'Remember Me?'.Definately.
Eminem definately had sick verses on this album:
'I murder a rhyme, one word at a time, you never heard of a mind as perverted as mine..'
'When I go out,I go out when Im shooting,I don't mean when I die, I mean when I go to the club, stuuuupid,im trying to clean my fucking image so I promised the fucking critics i wouldnt say fucking for six minutes..'
-
man this album is amazing, its got to be one of the top5 albums ive listened to most in my life
you can play it start to finish (skipping only the blowjob track)
-
RBX had a sick flow on 'Remember Me
That track has the only good verse RBX has ever done
-
^Obviously,you don't know what you're talking about.
'You can ignore that,young hobbits!'
-
'Remember Me' was meant to be on Chronic 2001, with Dre on the track instead of Em .. unsure what happened to that though .. MMLP is probably one of the more violent albums in hiphop though, SSLP still my favourite
-
I hate Eminem but this album is dope!
I liked him back then and it's quality shit, brings back old memories of when he wasn't wearing doorags with gloves and rolling his sleeves up to show us his tattoos
-
mmlp was nice, I like sslp a little more though.
-
nobody noticed how old this topic is???
i like this album... IMO, it's nowhere near Slim Shady LP, but very good.
-
Its still fuck nazi em.but i can not hate on good music....and that lp.was classic.
-
RBX had a sick flow on 'Remember Me

Then truly you dont know RBX.let me teach you son 4amin.(RBX---wrote alot on the chronic, dope verse on doggystyles-serial killaz, the RBX-files is a west coast classic, and he riped the single(east coast, west coast killaz).holla!
-
RBX-files is a west coast
now that's bullshit...
RBX is tight, but that album is ass...
No Mercy, No Remorce and The Shining are both waaaaay better albums..
-
marshall mathers lp is a classic
-
nobody noticed how old this topic is???
yea i was wondering what the fuck was going on and why someone brought it up but oh well it started a dicussion though, peace.

No Mercy was better!!hell naw!the shinning was cool.rip the game bloody was tight to me to....yet its good to see somebody else up on RBX.
-
I liked rbx's verse o "stranded on deathrow"....n yeh MMLP is top banana, i miss the whole "shroomed out on acid with a lil xtc" Eminem...
-
"Seven execution style murders,
I have no remorse cause i'm the fucking murdere
haven't you ever heard of a killa?
I DROP BOMBS LIKE HIROSHIMA."
Classic
-
i fuckin' love this album... a classic indeed.
-
the last person who could bring this typa Storytelling heat to yo ears was the one and only- BIGGIE....

Yeah you noticed to how quick alot of people forget.....pac has been in the game since 90-96,(how you forget PAC), show some respect.
