Last week we reported on the release of the first mixtape offering from Santa Monica and West Los Angeles native Indef (short for Indefinite). As a name he has featured on Dubcnn countless times - but this time it is as a sole artist - not a feature on another project.

Although we were informed this would release on Halloween, there was an unexplained delay, and we now have this for you for free download today. "The Product" shows this unconventional MC can stand well and truly on his own two feet and outlines his witty, off-kilter, and socially conscious lyrics.

Since his appearances on projects indluding J Dilla's "Dirty Instinct Exit 3," the "Tupac Assassination Soundtrack" and the Bishop Lamont projects Pope Mobile, N*gger Noize, The Confessional and Caltriot, Indef has been working on "The Product" and is now ready to deliver.

"The Product" is hosted by Bishop Lamont and presented by Aftermath Records & Diocese Records, the 19-track-set features all original music with guest appearances from Butch Cassidy, Bishop Lamont, Taje, Noni Spitz, Mike Ant, & Young De as well as production from Focus, DJ Khalil, Black Milk, Dae One, Thayod, & "Jedi" Jared Moore. So far you have heard three tracks; Ryda featuring Noni Spitz, The Howling with Bishop Lamont & Bokie Loc and Whoo, produced by Dae One

Thanks chief but I'm not an idiot.. I've already looked at the back cover.. I don't know who Mike Ant is.. so for all I know he rapped a verse instead of doing the chorus.. was just asking.

anyway... that "All ON The Line" track is my favorite track, always wanted to hear some solo material from Indef. The whole album is fire, would be nice if y'all get some material from Trek Life aswell

earlier on this thread someone pointed out how dope it was to have Bishop's commentary on the tape anyway, I totally agree I'm a big Wardoggz fan & having more of those kats together on the same shit the better. I just hope that when we get the untagged we'll see an improvement w/ the rip quality so I can blast the tracks w/o Bishop speakin' all over the place in da system, bump that shit hardcore!

currently the bitrate is 128kbps & as an Audiophile, this just doesn't garner the kind of satisfaction a true lossless FLAC or even an accurate 320kbps rip would render for my listening enjoyment. like I said when I started this thread back-up again, I'd totally purchase a tagless CD version of The Product. 8)

and w/ all that said, I'm still very & unconditionally grateful to have an artist like Indef release his shit the way he wants, uncensored & w/o mainstream bubble-gum rap influence. so props to the whole team that worked hard & put the money down to finance the recording/releasing of The Product for FREE, I'm already satisfied with what we've been able to get thus far from Bishop & crew...

it's just the whole Aftermath & Reformation thing makes me :'( as a fan of true Hip-Hop music, watching all the real dope shit & MC's being pushed down the way-side so we can see more releases from the Big *Stars* & losers like Soljah Boy, what a joke... :-\
