Although 50 Cent was hoping to release Before I Self Destruct (an album he has repeatedly stated was essentially finished over a year ago) in December, the G-Unit general's fourth LP will have to wait until early 2009.
"Times are hard," stated 50 Cent, according to Interscope Records. "Everyone is trying to make the most of what they have. I want to give my fans something extra for their hard earned dollars. They'll get a free bonus when they pick up the album."
Fans can rejoice, however, as Before I Self Destruct comes in a deluxe package which includes not only the album and a 90-minute film written, directed and starring 50, but also a second DVD titeld "Two Turntables And A Microphone: The Life And Death Of Jam Master Jay," a documentary about 50's late mentor and friend.
Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC gave 50 his first break in music by signing him to JMJ Records in the late 1990s. The documentary will feature appearances by 50, Rev Run, Russell Simmons, Jay-Z and others.

Nothing surprising here. He'll probably drop it in February, making it a GRODT anniversary or whatever. Probably has something to do with the fact that Get Up is at like number 60 on the Billboard charts. It's a shame though because Get Up >>> Lollipop, Whatever You Like, Love Lockdown, Arab Money, What Them Girls Like....
This means no Aftermath album in 08 ::)

I dig "Get Up", but it's crazy cuz this is the first time ever at least around my area where 50 drops a single that NOBODY is bumpin', real talk... I don't hear any kids in my school playing it on their speakers in the cafe (lol) or people driving around blasting it like last year and every other time there was some new shit by 50... I saw this coming though since T.I., Lil' Wayne, and Kanye West basically have taken over hip-hop and that's all I hear people playing

I'm afraid my fears will be confirmed lol: the next single will be something cheesy and corny on the level of 'candy shop' or ';amusement park' because this push back may even give 50 time to record 1 or 2 new tracks..
