Exclusive news on Crooked I...
Raptalk.Net got the opportunity to chop it up with Crooked I for an exclusive interview last week! He spoke on just about everything any fan would like to currently know.
One little early treat we can give you, is this very excerpt from the upcoming interview:
Raptalk.Net: Whats the current status on the BOSS album?
Crooked I: Im going to have a major announcement in another few weeks.
Raptalk.Net: So is the release date and distribution deal up in the air?
Crooked I: It isnt up in the air, but you call me back December 1st and Im going to have some good news for you (Laughs).
Raptalk.Net: I feel that. So December 1st, we can look forward to an announcement?
Crooked I: Yeah, a big announcement. We go hard man. We aint come this far to turn around or sit down.
You may be thinking, "Damn Lunatic, you just leaked the biggest info before the interview even dropped!" Well I am glad to inform you that you would be wrong! We chopped it up with Crooked I for over 40 minutes so be ready for a long read!
There you have it! This exclusive interview will drop on Raptalk.Net this coming Sunday, November 30th 2008, a day before Crooked I is scheduled to make this very big announcement!

I think most people are tired of the promises and announcements and just want more music, preferably a album from him. The EP was a start now if he can just build on that he will be fine.

I think that's pretty much the situation, people pretty much are at the point where "I need to see it to believe it" and you can't really blame them for that. However, at the same time I'm still anticipating the album and announcement and am satisfied with what Crook has dropped in the last year. I mean he did countless feature appearances, Hip Hop Weekly, St Valentine's Day Bossacre, Block Obama I and Block Obama II. That's a lot of work. More than enough music.

There is definite interest but at the same time, it's not really a good look. People still care but at the same time, they know enough about the history of all this to think that it's just gonna be more of the same.
We've had an official single with Akon, Hip-Hop Weeklys, digital releases, mixtapes. We've been waiting on an album for over 8 years and counting. Hell, we've even had a DVD in retail stores. The people want an album. Anything less than that isn't a "major" announcement to them.
I don't ever want this to come off as a shot at Crooked I because as an artist, I think he was one of the very best but the "Boss" talk is kind of getting old with the redundant. I have the DVD already, I bought the mixtape. The more the album gets held off, the less impact it really has. He doesn't have a Dr. Dre track record where he can wait 10 years to give us another album. Even Saigon had a street album that ended up in your Best Buys and local retail shops. Same with Spider Loc. Digital releases and mixtapes are cool but at the very least, he needs something like a street album, compilation, retail mixtape, or group project to drop in the stores.
At this point, anything less than a "MAJOR" announcement is counterproductive to his whole campaign. The thing is the majority of these "haters" are just impatient fans who got tired of waiting and gave up. When you keep hearing the same thing over and over again, after awhile, you give up on hearing it and move on to the next thing.
