We all know Quik has an album coming out with Kurupt, but posted this MySpace bulletin about a half hour ago & he talks about the album a little more, as well as gives advice for some up & coming artists/producers..............
Make sure that youre making music for all the right reasons. I do it to express my self and to watch people move involuntarily when my songs come on. this febuary, i have an album coming out with a new & improved Kurupt.
Every time i play it for someone new, they go from 'skeptical', to ''i gotta be cool-cant let quik know im jockin this shit-damn! i never heard anything like this-what is this shit?-how do you keep coming up with funky ass shit....aawww fuck it-this shit hot. can i have some Boomerang Vodka and Cranberry with yall niggaz-play that one again quik with the indian shit maan that one go hard...!"
Hence, i make music to take the edge off of unhappy people.
SMILING IS A WONDERFUL THING!
ALSO: try to avoid rapping, singing or producing songs under the influence of marijuana or alcohol. it slows your music down and makes it uninviting! wait until you have already finished your project, THEN drink &smoke. You will DEFINITELY notice a difference in your perception of the song. Remember: DO YOUR PERFORMANCE SOBER! You can look at the drugs and alcohol as dessert. surely save it for later.
And last, (but most certainly not least)
don't spite the song to save the speakers.
BUST THEM MUTHAFUCKERS!
Make you songs sound BIGGER than the speakers you produce them on. if the speakers cant hang, you're on the right track.

Wasn't the 1st single supposed to be released on July 4? Aside from the Bone Thugs unification album, there isn't an album I'm lookin' more forward to than this in '09.

It might not drop in February but I'm sure we can expect it first quarter 2009, which will be cool. 2009 looks like we could have some good releases dropping.

It's different for everyone I suppose. The last time I tried making a beat high as hell, I ended up staring at the drum machine for a half an hour.

And about the drugs and alcohol thing. I agree 100%. I swear half these rappers are high as fuck when they are in the studio and make their songs and they get done and think they sound tight but they only sound good because they're high as fuck and can't tell that in reality they are quite mediocre or very wack.

Quik is ALWAYS fire when producing for other people.. the work he did with solo artists before like mausberg, suga free, snoop and pac alone speaks for itself.

Hopefully they don't disappoint. As long as it's not sth. like that Fixxers project, but I have more doubts about Kurupt, although his latest efforts sounded a bit better again.

Wow. I dont know...really, this sounds too good to be true! To have players like G-One, Fonksta, and Baby Campbell all in the studio is mind-blowing.
