Title: it's time for a new Bishop Lamont street album! fuck the petty 'beef'
Post by: Dre-Day on January 10, 2009, 03:48:23 AM
first of all, i want to state that i'm thankful for all the music that Bishop Lamont has shared.
it's just that it's been a while since the release of the Confessional  ;)

i know that the Confessional was said to be the last street album to come before the release of the Reformation, but that was when Bishop was hoping to put his album out in 2008. well it didn't come last year and it certainly won't be coming this year, as interscope wants 50, Em & Dre first.
that's why i think Bishop should drop a new street album  ;)
besides, what about Calitroit Metropolis? i want to know what's the status of that.

cause all i hear bishop talk about is this elementary school beef shit  :P why is he wasting his time with this?
in the beginning it was funny but it's getting out of hand; bishop, the game, X.O. and the stans from all sides are acting like a bunch of little kids.
the negativity needs to stop; let's get back to more positive things, such as music!

Yeah it'd be good to see another Bishop street album.

I'm sure there's Reformation tracks which are now outdated because he's been sitting on them for so long - he should drop some of those.

i don't know, hopefully this will be brought to light in upcoming interviews  ;)

Yeah it'd be good to see another Bishop street album.

exactly.
he released some leftovers on the Confessional, so why not?  :)

I'd rather see his debut.
why?
don't you guys like the street albums?

the only upside of the Reformation i can think of, is more Dre involvement.
other than that, i don't mind whether it gets put out or not.
i mean, don't get me wrong, i really hope for bishop that he will be able to release his debut eventually,
it's just that i fear that the content will suffer due of the label's wishes  :P

I'd rather see his debut drop, preferrably sooner than later. I wouldn't say no to a street album of course, but I'd rather hear the final, perfected product.

I agree that he should just lay off the petty bullshit "beef" or whatever, dissing Game and whatnot. Being a fan of both artists, from my perspective they should just stop the bullshit and do a collabo or some shit. In my opinion, when it all boils down, both are ill on the mic and this name calling and dissing isn't doing anything good for either one of them.

But I guess they're caught up in their "nigga moment" for now.

actually that later became the Confessional  ;)
as you probably know, there are two versions of the Confessional

anyway, yeah there's definitely more; Team America! a collaboration with Indef  :o damn i really hope that the project wasn't cancelled

exactly, props.
either it should be squashed, or put to rest.

anyway, i see your point about the debut album.
the sound quality is far from perfect on the street albums, but i'm not complaining  ;)
it's just that, as i pointed out before, i'm worried about the concessions Bishop has to make for the Reformation, to satisfy the label  :P
especially when looking at the current state of the rap industry.
off course that doesn't mean that every song will be generic though  ;)

by the way, thanks for the input y'all; keep it positive!  8)

+1 homie real talk. Nice thread, I agree Bishop needs to focus on making music. Is funny after all this beef, it seems like the consensus all of a sudden is Game is the more rational person in this "beef". I don't know about that one. He just has not been as quick to diss but he has taken shots at Bishop. I just think he should take the high road and just focus on the music. 09 is crucial for Aftermath in having success with Em, Dre, and 50 for Bishop to even have a chance to drop his debut.

yeah cuz If I were bishop Id let em drop me
some of the biggest beefs happen on wax and have happened on aftermath/death row
that shit was good, it was competition as if them beefin on wax is gon lead to some street shit?
their still could be some street shit involved sides the shit on wax
the beef will give the world an idea of whos better at what their claimin to be better at?
bishop can claim x.o. is trash
x.o. can claim bishop is trash

but when they are goin at each other, the best of their best songs will be put out
thats what happens when your "mad"

history proves it for the most part!
FOR THE MOST PART!

Which was a crazy streetalbum just like his others.

Lets hope these will drop eventually:

Caltroit Metropolis
No Country 4 Old Men

Ill Clinton

And yeah, he should quit the bullshit beefs whether he's right or wrong.

I don't think we have to wait long for some dope project though.

the difference between bishop and crooked
crooked is tryna to get a pass from someone like snoop or a label to say he got put on or signed!
that wont happened especially if your sayin FUCK THA INDUSTRY (WHICH IS GOOD THAT HE IS SAYIN THAT)
TECH N9NE SAID IT AND LOOK HES SELLING!
bishop does what he does, and gets his muzik out!
hes put out more muzik for free in a short amount of time and crooked, well hes tryin!
thats good that hes tryin but its like hes tryin out for snoops approval league!
CATS WHO TRIED OUT FOR SNOOPS APPROVAL LEAGUE:
E-WHITE
C.P.O (POSSIBLY)
LATOYA WILLIAMS
EASTSIDAZ
BUTCH CASSIDY (POSSIBLY)
SOOPAFLY

NOT MANY MADE IT, IN FACT NOONE MADE IT ALL THE WAY, PARTIAL WAY!
and others, but snoop wants the fame! he cant take the heat and handle the fact that CROOKED I, "CRUMBS OF HIS TABLE" is a better rapper than him and his whole coast!

and BISHOP DONT NEED SNOOP, HIS RELEASES PROVE HE DONT NEED DRE OF AFTERMATH!

Its not that they need him.but snoop has access to a much larger fan base.that can't hurt.besides I want snoop to do some westcoast shit and if he dropped the collabos with over priced mainstream artists and worked with west coast fire then his music would be dope.and you know it wouldn't flop like ego trippin.unity is the key to success

bishop needs to get back to dropping music period.
his latest actions surprise me though.  if he was REALLY signed to aftermath i think dre and his management team wouldnt have let him make an ass out of himself so much.  its bad marketing.

check this out . . .

http://get-a-bar.blogspot.com <---- a west coast based blog.
put it best when they wrote this concerning bishop lamonts latest vid:

I mean c'mon my nigg?? This is crazy... as grown-men this is what you niggaz have to talk about? I cant stand by this no more.

And what are you talkin about "He didnt want to take his shirt off because is chest was hairy??? Thats low-key homo talk my nigga. Pause on all that fruity-loop talk my dude, for real its not a good look. Why u speaking on a man's hairy chest? Or how you offered to hold his waist to help him do pull ups? Are you a trainer or gymnist or something??? Hmmmmm.... I'll leave that question alone.

But this is what happens when consumers follow rappers that dont live a real life. You get these felonious, fake, corny, make believe beefs. This nigga even thought runnin' up on DJ Strong gave him brownie points... Negative.

While you guys are fighting over who gave who a book... its obvious neither one of y'all traded Kasif's "Everything You Need To Know About The Music Business" with each other judging by these bogus deals y'all signed.

I guess I'll see "X.O."'s or "The Lost Angel" or "Scipio" or "Side-line"'s comment within the next day or so. This nigga got more stage names than a stripper... lol

Dont even get me started on you niggaz, please dont....

IMO they tryna to say that they dope and sendin a message to hard headed cats like snoop who dont want noone to rise above em

cause all i hear bishop talk about is this elementary school beef shit  :P why is he wasting his time with this?
in the beginning it was funny but it's getting out of hand; bishop, the game, X.O. and the Stans from all sides are acting like a bunch of little kids.
the negativity needs to stop; let's get back to more positive things, such as music!

Fuck that corny beef  :-X
He should scrap that "No Country For Old Men" project as well  >:(.... no need for that  >:(

lol why? there's only a title and you've already made up your mind?

From what I can make out of what they said about the project in their recent interviews,is that it's a "fuck the old west project".... (correct me if I'm wrong  ;))
do we really need that?

well as long as it's constructive i don't mind  :)
besides, what if you don't agree with the messages? that doesn't necessarily make the music worse, right?

I don't see nothing constructive about the "new VS old west" beef  >:(
Yes,both Crooked and Bishop can produce dope music,so sure the music will probably be dope... but the message  >:( >:( >:( >:( :-[ :-[ :-\

true, that was straight attention whoring.

i'm not knocking you for being bothered by the messages that you predict that will be spread with the new project,
i mean, there shouldn't be any beef.

i don't endorse the comments bishop made about Ice Cube either; that was pure bias.

but Snoop is a different story.
besides, who says that it will be missile testing all over again?
didn't bishop regret the negativity? he said that the song wasn't a diss to Snoop (it probably was though)

Bishop Lamont disses Snoop Dogg & Ice Cube
http://www.aftermathmusic.com/blog/?p=326

Bishop Lamont is about to release an album entitled ‘No Country for Old Men’ in a collaboration with Crooked I and Glasses Malone.
The album will be a diss towards Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube who, from their perspective, do not endorse or support new west coast rappers.
They intend to release the album independently.

“It’s about the record straight on all the politics and hating that goes on over here and in the industry, period.
It’s gonna set the new level of where music is supposed to go across the board.” Bishop Lamont explains.
He claims Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg don’t support new west coast artists and goes as far as calling them ‘haters’.
“Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg be hating on us, Phony sh*t that goes on with these n*gg*s that’s supposed to be legends.
They got egos. I grew up with [Snoop] and love dude, but music and money changes everything. We’re going in.”

He does recall to liking Snoop Dogg in the early days, but remarks he didn’t receive anything back.
“We love you n*gg*s, but you n*ggas ain’t got the same love for us. What we supposed to do?
We helped you n*ggas go gold, go platinum, go worldwide. We were the ones buying them records. We were the ones going to them shows, believing you.” Bishop says.

Despite receiving support and respect from other MC’s such as
Battlecat, Warren G, Kurupt, Daz and others, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube were the only ones not supporting the new west coast. “Why doesn’t Snoop support us? Why doesn’t Ice Cube support us? Cypress Hill supports us. Why does Dre stay relevant and he’s been here for 22 years? He stays involved with new n*ggas.
He extends the legacy. You got Xzibit, all these n*ggas riding with us and you wanna hate?” Bishop added.

When the album will be released is to be announced.
Bishop Lamonts expects to release his first Aftermath studio album ‘the Reformation’ after Dr. Dre’s ‘Detox’ release this year.

Who knows?
well Dre has worked more on Eminem's album than on Detox, in the last year.

so if bishop has mainly worked on his debut, then there's obviously more leftovers  ;)
which can be used for a new street album.

i mean let's be realistic: Bishop certainly won't drop this year + Detox has to come first.
Detox probably won't drop this year either.

so you can fill in the blanks for 2010

yeah cuz If I were bishop Id let em drop me
some of the biggest beefs happen on wax and have happened on aftermath/death row
that shit was good, it was competition as if them beefin on wax is gon lead to some street shit?
their still could be some street shit involved sides the shit on wax
the beef will give the world an idea of whos better at what their claimin to be better at?
bishop can claim x.o. is trash
x.o. can claim bishop is trash

but when they are goin at each other, the best of their best songs will be put out
thats what happens when your "mad"

history proves it for the most part!
FOR THE MOST PART!

damn bishop goin at game on wax is gon stop aftermath from droppin his album

Nah I doubt it.

I agree with you. Some of the best tracks have come out of beefs. Beef and hip hop go together, have been throughout all the 80s and 90s. I don't know why nowadays the fans get so butthurt over it. People are talking like west coast unity will bring the west coast back. The west coast wasn't any more unified during the 90s, some of the most high-profile beefs were during the 90s. N.W.A. vs. Cube, Dre vs. Eazy, Death Row vs. Ruthless, Death Row vs. Dre, Cypress Hill vs. Cube, etc etc. You might even say it was the lack of unity that made the west coast popular. I for one think the music industry needs more diss tracks instead of this "oh lets all do collabs" mentality. And I'd like to hear actual disses, battle rap type stuff, not this "I'm a gangster and you're not" bullshit.

bishop needs to get back to dropping music period.
his latest actions surprise me though.  if he was REALLY signed to aftermath i think dre and his management team wouldnt have let him make an ass out of himself so much.  its bad marketing.

check this out . . .

put it best when they wrote this concerning bishop lamonts latest vid:

bloggers talking shit. And we should care why? This beef isn't any more "manufactured" than Pac vs. Biggie was. At least these two threw down. Pac and Big got killed by some psycho fans who thought the shit was serious.

I'm down for some more Bishop...
It will be a loooooooooooong time before his solo ever get's a release date on Aftermath/Interscope.
(Prob looking like a late 2010 if ever..)

I bet Bishop has tons of material he is sitting on
Another mixtape won't hurt, I'm still bumping "Confessional" & "Pope Mobile"

If the album ain't coming for a minute (say 2 years) I'd rather he release a quality street tape but if there's plans to get out within a year then yeah, fuck a street tape.  I think the best thing he can do is stay low for a minute and produce a complete banger that will allow him to blow up.  It's not like he's dropping before Detox, Relapse 2, Before I self Destruct, or 50's other album.   He either needs to go hard with the publicity and drop a product or don't fucking publicize because he ends up looking foolish saying Detox is dropping ____ and I'm out in ______.  I know Interscope/Aftermath is full of label heads that talk-ish but he's got to realize the situation he's in.
