Since all this Biggie thing is actual again cause of that sub-average movie out there ( "Notorious" ), i wanted to pull this question again.
Long Kiss Goodnight is one of the best diss songs out there, lyrics, flow beat, everything was great, shit was so direct but at the same time so subliminal..
only thing that bothers me is the thing they dissed a dead man, its been discussed many times, what do u think?
Slugs hit your chest tap your spine, flatline
Heard through the grapevine, you got fucked fo times
Damn thats three to nine, fucked you up for real doe
Sling steal slow, as for remorse, we feel no...
-
yeah this was his diss to suge knight and pac...i thought it was a dope diss....would have been better if pac was alive.
-
Dissin a dead man that cant reply back gets no points in my book.

I concur. 8)

yet the structur of the track is clever....and pac was alive when big was makeing life after death...pac just died early.
-
The second verse described 'Pac's death, and of course it was straight to 'Pac. The album was released 6 months after his death and could have easily been taken off. So for that, Big gets no points. But it adds to the legacy of their battle.
-
i know that he talks about pac here, but what does he really say to diss him? other than "ill kill you"
nothin, right?
-

shit i bet its still a bunch of bad boy disses in the vault..
pac still can diss from the grave if the powers that be wanted to let it out
-
Its a good song but its nowhere near hit em up
-

 Pac dickriders
-
how? atleast pac said some shit about big other than "im gonna shoot you haha im so gangsta"
- i fucked your wife
- i used to let you sleep on my couch
- you took my style
- etc
-
Hit em up was tighter than this bullshit
-
Kick in the door >>>>>>>>>>> this track. Theres much better disses out there as well. I think WHo Shot Ya was doper than Long Kiss goodnight as well.
But Kick in the door is def one of Bigs best disses:
'fuck that why try throw bleach in ur eye'
'i think they got cum in em, cause they nothin but dicks, tryna blow up like nitro and dynamite sticks'
'ur reign on the top was short like leprechauns as i smash so called willies, thugs and rapper dons'
-
I'm a PAC dick rider because its the truth?hit em up is a legengary song.how many rappers have emulated this song to diss someone?how many verses from this song have been bit?countless.
-

how many big lines have been bit as well? bigs dope, dont let stanism distort ur ears
-
I wasn't saying that.I'm just talking diss songs.I'm a huge fan of both artists.but face it on wax pac destroyed big.if you can't see that your a stan.

Lol way to take it out of context. We're talking about both disses, not their careers. Long Kiss is a dope ass song, but theres little to no personals in the track and all he's saying is hes gonna kill Pac. Pac got mad personals, and his speech at the end of "Hit Em Up is legendary. I reckon Pacs track had more punch to it, and letting his "lil homies ride on you bitch ass niggas" was crack up...
-

Drop a gem on em was a superior diss track to pac and mobb deep released it when he was alive
-
BIG's a bitch! ;D
fuck him! WESTSIDE FO' LIFE! TUPAC!!!!! HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME! 8)
-
i think its disgusting that this n other songs made the cd...the guys dead n u put a diss track on life after death? fuked up if u asked me...dope album tho

This is actually a diss to Raekwon (when Rae subliminally dissed BIG on "Ice Water" from Only Built 4 Cuban Linx). Rae and Ghost also got at BIG on the "Shark Niggas (Biters)" skit before this song, talking about how BIG bit Nas' album cover.
-
The thing I both like and dislike about Big's beef tracks was that he was so subliminal.....I wish he would have called out a few names!
-

umm "you got fucked fo times" (4 bullets shot 2pac in 96)
"restin where the worms and the wheat be"
thats not after 2pac died lol
-
I wish the original existed. From what RZA said the original Biggie went it tough on Pac then redid his lyrics to this.
-
Haven't a few cats close to Big mentioned the original version of this song mentioned Pac specifically and it was recorded before Pac was killed ? Or something along those lines.
-

Thanks for the info. RZA makes it sound like it is on some lyrical beatdown type shit from BIG and he scraped the verses.

actually, Cease sed the opposite, that the track was made after 2pac passed
diddy denied that tho :-/
-
do you rememberi where Rza said that?
thats pretty interesting, maybe theres a 3rd version
Cease said it was made after Pac died (and about 2pac) maybe 5 years ago...Diddy says it was "just on some emcee shit" and there was "no diss" LOL)

He (RZA) said it in the XXL special edition of The Making of Life After Death. I always thought RZA produced that track but it was Mathmatics. That is still to this day one of my fav Biggie joints.
I'll Make Your Mouthpiece obese like Della Reese
-
the wierd thing is, that 1st verse (which he spat on Wake Up SHow) was prob was got him killed (just a few days later)
excellent track though, regardless of who it may have been about (or may have not been if your P Diddy LOL)
-
house of pain
runnin
lets get it on
Pac and Big made 3 great tracks together
-
Here's the original- http://www.zshare.net/audio/5446247071a54c19/

earlier in the thread some dude said it was at raekwon and ghostface
-
Shit is crazy. Bold as fuck but you gotta give him credit for it. But I will say this, he's lucky he died before the album came out. Otherwise he would've caught A LOT of heat for this song.
-
Nah, I don't think so.
-
i never said kick in the door was about Pac. of course it was about Rae, Nas, Ghost, Guru etc. i was just sayin it was a better diss record cause it was alot smarter. Tbh Big never really came out and said Pacs name cause diddy aint want him to so the songs cant really be prepared. Now drop a gem on them that was a dope diss...
-
That's what I'm saying.drop a gem on em is the most overlooked diss songs of all time.prodigy went in on pac.infamous and hell on earth are two of the best albums ever put together imo

Before the Pac stans jump in and say Mobb Deep were pussies for going at Pac after he died, Drop a Gem on em was on mixtapes before Pac died and it was actually supposed to be the lead single on Hell on Earth but they scratched that after Pac died.
-
Biggie is better than Pac Long Kiss was the shit I thought is was in bad taste since Pac was dead I am pretty sure it was recorded while Pac was still alive (maybe maybe not) but they did say Tupac's name on the original I think after he died they removed it

Yes, he sure is lucky that his body got tagged full of bullets because otherwise, he would have had to listen to rappers talk bad about him.
