So who won
Canibus - 2nd K.O.
http://www.youtube.com/watch/v/g0h-A05AQYg
VS
LL Cool J - The Ripper Strikes Back
http://www.youtube.com/watch/v/cBYJ0QhIPEw
So looking back who got who when it comes to these two tracks and nothing else. Obviously in the long run LL won b/c he still has a career and no one cares about Canibus except for his 37 internet fans. And I know LL after this track dropped a couple of lines towards Canibus and Canibus dropped Rip the Jacker after everyone forgot the beef. But these two tracks specifically who won ?
Canibus is obviously the better lyricist but I have to go with LL just off the strength of taking Canibus's most memorable line in the song "While 99% of your fans wear high heels" and flipping it into " Cause ninety-nine percent of his fans, don't exist "
I dropped this thread b/c of the current state of hip hop beef where everything is dropped on youtube videos and interviews and all you pseudo hip hop heads eat that shit up.

Canibus won this battle, easily. Its crazy, Canibus pretty much came in the game with this track. This song was the first time I ever heard him and it was fuckin nuts!! :o The song he did on the Lost Boys album was crazy too when he came out!

Beast from the east... whatever happened to A+ his first album was really good. And A+Z featuring AZ is a classic track.

This is the track that Canibus killed LL on. I'll give the first two a tie, just out of respect to LL, but Canibus whooped that ass on this track.

I mentioned this track and it doesn't count b/c it was dropped after majority of people moved on from the beef. It is a hot track but when he dropped it no one really cared except for his 89 internet fans b/c by than everyone basically forgot about him.

if its between
2nd knock out
n
and ripper strikes back
then i'd say ll won but if 3rd diss is included then canibus wins
-
Canibus lyrically won but it's EXTREMELY CLEAR who came out on top in this beef.
-
canibus.
-
lady's love's cool Jame's 8)
-
I preffered the ripper strikes back but either way if canibus won the battle, LL won the war.
-
Canibus, hands down. LL cool J was never cool unless you were a 16 yr old schoolgirl.
-
I preffered the ripper strikes back but either way if canibus won the battle, LL won the war.
my point exactly

Canibus....to me he's one of the best to ever rip it...when his mind is right. One of my first albums when I was a kid was LL, and I think momma said knock you out was fire so I know LL can come rough, but Canibus was on another level to me.
-
I wish LL hadn't took offense to canibus' verse and left it in it's orginal state. It's one of the best verses i've heard in my life.

Another LL Cool J diss to Canibus is
Back Where I Belong Feat. Ja Rule

Canibus took this and he didnt even need the ghostwriters and guest appearances like LL did.
RIP THE JACKER was the dopest diss in this whole beef.

fuck ll, it was all Canibus. and when people say that LL won the war your wrong. Who knew Canibus at this time, not alot. Cool J was already a mainstream success. This beef gave Canibus mad exposure.
-
Yeah Canibus is a beast at battling. I just wish he was pissed at more people lol ;)

Never been a big fan of Ja Rule, but he got some dope songs.
Now back to the topic, i haven't heard all the diss songs but "2nd Round Knock Out" was fuckin dope.
-
for real
canibus was more vicious
dont mean shit that ll has more success now
he does club muzik
canibus is a underground rapper
fuck ll, it was all Canibus. and when people say that LL won the war your wrong. Who knew Canibus at this time, not alot. Cool J was already a mainstream success. This beef gave Canibus mad exposure.

Agreed. Also LL was never really looked at the same after this shit by real hip hop heads. Only people who check for him now is young bitches. He used to sell pretty well before the Canibus shit but after it he lost his underground fanbase. So while alot of people will say he ended Canibus career, Canibus pretty much put LLs shit on life support. Sure his career is still goin but most people want him to retire at this point and hang it up. I dont know any niggas waitin for no new LL Cool J album.
-
haha big s goin into detail for enyce

at that time, Ja Rule was mostly an up and coming rapper at the time who Def Jam was like, get him on an LL track. As for that track, I owned the GOAT album, and at the time I was like, damn, LL might have won this, then Rip the Jacker came out, and it was over. Every LL head I know, when they heard that for the first time admitted that Canibus ate him.
-
LL's verse on "4,3,2,1" was tight but it was all downhill for him after that. Canibus won for sure.
-
No brainer on that. Yes Canibus dissed LL harder than Ice T, Raheem & Kool Moe Dee combined, but LL destroyed the career of Canibus when he said,'Cause 99% of your fans don't exist.' And I was pullin for Canibus in this feud. I didn't like the 92-98 LL that mostly had songs of him only wanting other men's women. I preferred the old hardcore LL. Jack the Ripper & I'm Bad. Canibus needed 2 say, you 4got what a hardcore artist is. I did like Rip the Jacker, Canibus got LL good again but I think it was too late then. If he did those songs back to back before LL responded then Canibus woulda slightly won regardless of LL's comeback.
-
"the G.O.A.T. aint platinum and neither is 'clef"
I dont think LL COOL J has recovered since the battle. He lost in the long run. Canibus released his best material after the battle in my opinion. RIP THE JACKER and FOR WHOM THE BEAT TOLLS.
-
At first Canibus won until LL came back with that damn ten minute verbal bitch slap. Damn...!! he roasted his ass for ten minutes and then came back for another 3 or 4 minutes just when you thought it was over. Canibus never answered that back. LL in my opinion.

When did this happen?

When did this happen?
Ripper strikes back. (Well exaggerated a little bit) It was more like 6 minutes
"Talk about bein broke, nigga I'm rich
Cause I learned, to seperated the money from the bitch
Don't hate me cause I'm paid, hate me because
I'm everything you want to be : handsome, young, plus legendary
Talk about Farrakhan, nigga you got to call Jesse Jackson
For some Affirmative Action
You soft as a newborn baby takin a nap
Make my dick hard with that bitch ass track
Where you at? Smokin in some one room flat
Suckin on Clef's dick hopin to come back
Never that, nigga my size is unlimited"
Sorry man, but I can't find anything Canibus said that beats this.
-
Alright, didn't know what you were talking about because "The Ripper Strikes Back" is 5:29 long, quite different than a 10 minute bitch slap. And Canibus did answer back, "Rip The Jacker" I believe was the last track in this battle.
-
canibus rocks dude

Canibus won the battle, but LL won the war.
-
The Ripper Strikes Back is the hardest diss of all time... LL won
-
Canibus won that battle. LL is the GOAT though, you can never take his crown.
-
Canibus lyrically won but it's EXTREMELY CLEAR who came out on top in this beef.
yeah, id still anticipate a canibus album over ll though
-
I have to say Bis!! We all know LL has had a great career but when it comes to this beef I think Canibus one for sure although it was pretty close.
