Not so weird, I really hope some significant contact will be made one day. It will force us to rethink where we came from (religion, evolution) and perhaps if a relationship is built, give us more hopeful options for the future.

you'd think by now there would be some sort of real evidence to point out to some other intelligent life, but the universe is so big that who knows, maybe they exist but out planet is too isolated to ever cross paths
i think it would be awesome if some chilled out super smart aliens dropped some knowledge on us, if some hostile bastards came down they'd probably annihalate us though

I hope they aren't hostile like us! I think there is other life out there that is probably looking at us wondering WTF our problem is.

yeah well lets say there are some aliens tens of thousands of years advanced over us, they'd think we're savages, just like we would have been 10000 years ago

Not weird at all. I believe within the next year or so there's gonna be an official declaration that aliens are real. The info is out there and the powers that be are trying to keep that info suppressed, but they can't really hide it for much longer.
What was it, a couple years ago the vatican officially stated that "if there are indeed ET's, that they are God's children as well". I remember tripping the fuck out like, "why would they even make a statement like that if there weren't aliens?"
So, no it's not weird. ET's are out there for sure.

lol, fuck the catholic church. If you don't see it as their covering their own ass by releasing this statement, I don't know what to tell you. They're setting the stage so that when it becomes official, they can try and maintain their stranglehold on the people. But it ain't gonna happen.

I think you're def on the right track. They've given us tons of clues of their existence, but they don't impose themselves on us. I also think they are very similar looking to us, def not the monstrous hostile creatures that Hollywood depicts.

In all seriousness though I think we are being prepared socially for the possibility of contact with an advanced alien civilization. I am a firm believer that aliens are silently monitoring this earth and have been for a very long time. Lets face it as a society we are not ready. People that are way more advanced socially and technologically are more opt to agree. We can't stop waging bullshit wars against each other nevermind someone from the other side of the galaxy. It is being covered up by the powers that be also and I will tell you why. It def all ties in w/ 2012. But 2012 isn't a cataclysmic event, not an alien invasion etc... its going to be the official start of a new era of consciousness in mankind. There is actually a massive surge of energy traveling across our galaxy as we speak that is driving all of this.

Maybe in the same way any conscious being benefits from doing either good or evil.
Maybe it would be pointless for aliens to come and 'save us' from ourselves with superior technology. Maybe our problems on this Earth are uniquely ours and it is a test of our collective evolution to overcome and learn to understand for ourselves.
Maybe thats why they only really seem to contact on a small scale; like individuals in small isolated situations.

according to a lot of interpretations of the mayan calender the alien shit really needs to start get going in the 6th day if we're gonna be where we need to be by 2011/2012. the 6th day of this current cycle is this year.
