DETAILS magazine put Kanye West on the cover of their upcoming issue, which hits stands February 24th. If you can look closely you can see the egomaniacal producer/artist's head has gotten even bigger.
In the March issue of DETAILS 'Ye says he's done with music and is ready to put his focus into fashion (yikes!).
"Put this in the magazine: There's nothing more to be said about music. I'm the f*cking end-all, be-all of music. I know what I'm doing. I did 808s in three weeks. I got it. It's on cruise control. . . . Man, we talked about music for God knows how long! Now let's talk about how my fucking sweater didn't come back right from Korea. That's what's interesting me."
I could have sworn he made some kind of statement last week about not being gay, but I must've been wrong. Then again, maybe he's not gay, just really really high. End-all, be-all of music? Whoa, don't push it buddy.

I know hes gone half crazy, but I don't care if he sleeps with pink teddy bears, and wears turtlenecks. He has shown that he is capable of making some incredible beats, and I'm hoping that he will continue to do so. I have no problem ignoring an album of his (808) because I don't like it at all, if maybe he makes another one that is better. It seems like people write off some of his earlier work that was :o. Just because he's saying crasy shit now and making music that most of us don't like does not mean he will never make anything "good" again. So I hope he stays at it. If I like it I'll buy it, if I don't i won't 8)

Hip-Hop is based off of competition, if Kanye was trying to out do great producers like Primo, Pete Rock, Warren G, Quik, then Kanye would be doing better. When he came out he was trying to out do Lil' Jon. But now who's Kanye competing with? Khali?

he did, I'll admit that, but he WAS one of the only things Hip-Hop had that was worth anything. He just doesn't have that one person to compare himself with. In interviews, he mentions Dr. Dre more than anyone else out today.

I think he knows he can. But there's no reason for him too. He can be lazy and make 808 all day and people will buy it. If we had some producer that can make the buzz Kanye once did, then he will damn well make CD2. Dre made 2001 'cause at the time people thought he fell off, he made Chronic to prove he didn't need NWA to be something, and he make NWA's shit to prove his the best producer of his era. Kanye made Blueprint to prove his a contender, he make Dropout to prove he can do it on his own, he produced everyone's single from Brandy to Slum Village to prove his the best, and now he ain't got shit to do.

Late Registration was solid aswell, Kanye didnt kill hip hop, he quit making hip hop as a solo artist cos the shit bored him.
