Crooked I ensures he is always in the news with his ability to keep creating new music and getting it out to the streets and online. Recently much of the news has been about the shooting incident a few weeks ago, but the Long Beach MC got back to the music last week with the release of the brand new cut produced by Komplex.
That track is the first leak from his upcoming and long overdue debut album "B.O.S.S." which is now to be available for free download. I'm leaking this song first just to give them a sneak preview of what "B.O.S.S." is gonna sound like" Crooked I exclusively told Dubcnn.
Since then a half finished version of another track leaked on some blogs and forums entitled "If You Ever Hear Me." Today we have the full version of the new track that is produced by King Tech and will be featured on a new release but not on "B.O.S.S."
Readers who read the last update will already know that Crooked I and the Wake Up Show's King Tech have been in the studio as he told us; "We made some crazy records. We made 7 songs in one day." he said. "I think that's my new direction, the sound is totally different. It's the same quality music, but tomorrow's not promised, so I wanna express myself to the fullest now. If it's a whole song about the bullshit going on in the hood or a relative that passed away, whatever it is, I just wanna express all my feelings."

Great track. Decided to listen to it a couple times before I really commented on it too much. I think Crooked makes some great points. Rap has lost some of its balls. And some of its relevance. Not all rap has, of course. But there's just so much commercial crap out there, now-days. I think in the last 10 to 15 years, some of the social statements that rap had been so good at making, just got watered down. I'm sure from Crooked I's perspective it's frustrating when he's still making music that really says something, while a lot of the far more famous rappers are bascially just churning out radio-friendly jingles that have no real meaning.

Obviously if Boss drops lets say in 4 weeks it propably is in but if it takes months, the whole tracklist is propably gonna change. Anyway, there is one song more to listen to if he drops this out of the album. :laugh:

I thought Still An Mc was weak, just random words, no song structure plus a wack beat. But this is amazing, definetly the sound Crooked should aim for.

This track is still in heavy rotation. Everything about it is spot on as a Crooked I track should be. The beat, emotion, content. Probably my favorite Crooked I track to date.
