That Down South Hustlaz mixing was ass.  Willie D and the dude that followed sounded like shit.

This album is allright.  Flows well, Ross sounds good over the beats but I can't believe what he's saying so I'm going to take it as a man who's just telling me bed time stories.

I won't buy it.

ppl be hatin Ross 2 much..categorizin him with the shitty down south rap..he can SPIT at times..

"I'm bigger than a title, bigger than a name," "You can label me the biggest label in the game. Put food on the table, fed the whole city...Call your boy a C.O./But if I really was, wouldn't all these n*ggas undercover be f*cking n*ggas up/Keep it trilla, n*gga never had a gun and badge/Kept a nice watch, smokin' on a hundred sack...And I got two kids, and for me to feed 'em I did two gigs/I shoveled sh*t/I C.O.'ed, so we could bow our head and pray over the meatloaf/I'm lookin' at the big picture/Keep a b*tch with cha/Tryin' to get a bit richer."

ESPECIALLY...

"Walk like a giant/ Talk like a tyrant," "Lord knows when I see this monkey I'mma be the devil/ Beat him 'cause I'm clever/ Beat him at whatever/ You never was a G n*gga...New York unified, down South love that/ When we got the shine, motherf*ckers where the love at/ Real n*ggas get money, better log on/ Think the game dead, imagine when your dawg gone/ Imagine when it's all gone/ When you fall off, it's only one to call on."

this album remind me about JA RULE situation he recorded that pop-gangsta album Pain Is Love (2001) full with those soft hooks and after that album he fell off thanks to 50 cent  ;) so do we have repeat from history?

btw. good album from BAWSE ROSS i would cut off maybe 2 tracks

"Pain is Love" sold 4 milli in the US. "The Last Temptation" was when people started to get tired of him. Ja hung himself, 50 just kicked away the chair and called the suicide a murder.

yup... take off the avery storm, robin thicke, ne-yo tracks and we're good. (the foxy collab sucks too)

ironically the dream track was the best of the bunch... the rest sound amateur. rich off cocaine had potential but the hook ruins it

Anyone find out what that song is called?

Anywayz, this album is pretty damn dope, im impressed. He rapped his ass off on this album and killed HELLA verses. Alot of RnB joints on here though, im ususally a fan of these type of hooks but there were alittle to many on this album. But i am pretty damn impressed, it exceeded my expectations, thats for sure. I doubt 50 will come with a better album. I dont like to get caught up in that beef shit and judge a artist like that, its the music that counts, and this albums dope!!!

Mafia Music - 4/5
Maybach Music 2 - 3/5
Magnificent - 4/5
Yacht Club - 4/5
Usual Suspects - 4/5
All I Really Want - 3.75/5
Rich Off Cocaine - 3.5/5
Lay Back - 3.5/5
Murda Miami - 3.75/5
Gunplay - 3/5
Boss Lady - 3.5/5
Face - 3/5
Valley Of Death - 3/5
In Cold Blood - 3.75/5

This is a SOLID 4/5 album right here. This is a crazy summer time album to cruise too!!!  8)

I like this album, the beats are good, I know ross isn't the realest rapper but he can rap and does have a good flow.

My favorite song is valley of death, when the snippet came out I was playing that over and over, I love the beat.

Tracks 1,2,3,5, 13 and 14 are really dope. Mostly because of the cinematic beats but still, Ross did his thing. Maybach Music has one of the best T-Pain hooks and Valley Of Death has a crazy sample and production (those drums are very clear and Dre-ish).

The rest is filler, his chick tracks aren't listenable mainly because he just talks on the record.

I just listened to this album all through twice while driving and I gotta admit it's real nice. Imo there are no weak joints, all of them are at least good and some better. Favorite tracks so far are usual suspects, yacht club, in cold blood and maybach 2.

So, do people think this is a great album just because of the beat? It's a damn shame if that's the fact.
The only ones who delivered on this album were Legend and Nas, and I don't really understand why they wasted lyrics for Ross..

Toomp & T.I.  ;D

sorry to bust your bubble but there's no t.i producing on the track.  :D it's TOOMP & KHAO that produced it, after reading the credits in the booklet.
bought the deluxe version earlier today and so far this album is jammin. best mainstream hiphop album so far this year. fuck the c.o talk, good music is good music. it's worth the 9.99 or 12.99. this is one of the best produced albums i've heard in awhile and so far this year, and ross really stepped up his lyrics. minus two fillers the album is still great, wished he couldve drop some more deeper tracks as the title reads.
overall rating: a solid 4 outta 5.

The album is dope. 3 filler tracks. Other than that beautiful production and Ross stepped up his lyrics/flow in a major way since Trilla, Im impressed. Very enjoyable album. Never been a Rick Ross fan, only liked his beats but this is a good album, straight up.

Miami rapper Rick Ross will top next week's HITS Album Sales chart, with between 150-160k in sales for his third album, Deeper Than Rap, and first for his new Maybach Music Group through Def Jam after a pair for Slip-N-Slide. His last, the gold-certified Trilla, now over 700k, and his 2006 debut, Port of Miami, both debuted at #1. (Hits Daily Double)

What was my guess? 170K while many y'all said he'd flop..the Lunatic is always relatively accurate ;D

That's because def jam bought back 100k of those.I bet his next week numbers are around 20k

It's still his worst first week sales total.

So what...thats hella good for sales these days. 160k is 160k at the end of the day even if Def Jam buys all 160k!!!

I finally got around to listening to this album.I thought it was pretty boring.I enjoyed mafia music but after that I got bored of his monotone flow and boring lyrics and very quickly. He never says anything halfway interesting and I didn't care about the production that much.I don't see what people see in this album what so ever.

Can anyone post up a link to the complete album? Every link I find is dead. Or if anyone could PM me one, it would be most most most appreciated. Ross is iller than most will admit. Cigar Music (I Do It) is a fuckin banger.

damn this is getting alot of props!

50 may have killed him on the vidoes and his curly shit but if 50 dont drop a dope album with all the time and resources available to him, he'll become even more of a clown!
