After a few listens I have to say that I don't like this... Dre sounds off and weird. Eminem sounds like he tries to bring back Slim Shady, but he just doesn't have it anymore... or maybe I grew over this type of hip hop that I've heard too much already. This is not new and not innovative. It's a generic song if you ask me ::)

Dre's 1st verse sounds kinda experimental, but his follwoing verse after are on point!
And Em's funny accent is only really featrured on few places through out all his verses.
If you notice his switches between the two!
All in All i like the idea of Dre & Em rapping back n forth on this!

it's like unless a Dre beat is so different and has all these crazy new sounds, y'all don't like it..I rather have this "easy to make beat" (which is BANGING) then some new, cheesy sounding experimental shit.
Dre's verse is on point and the accent ain't as bad here. This a dope ass cut, the best from the album thus far.

with the music industry in as poor shape as its ever been both with the quality of output, sales, promotion etc i'm ready to rip into anything that isn't fire. the corporate interests and major labels need to be completely destroyed for a new, improved moder to emerge. then we might have a chance of a return to good music and a real hip-hop revival.
there is plenty of really dope shit coming out just outside the mainstream eye that you shouldn't give legedary artists such as dr. dre or eminem a pass when they put out sub-standard material. they shouldn't bother if its not gonna MEET THE HIGHEST OF EXPECTATIONS. that goes for detox too.

Ok, so I ended up agreeing with this guy...
Actually it's really not bad... it's not a classic, but it's definately more interesting than most of the other stuff, it's just light enough to actually catch the metaphors and enjoy the song, and I actually liked Dre's first verse, I'm sure he didn't write it, but the delivery is dope, quit hatin muthafuckas....

So far i actually prolly like "we made you" the most, followed by this, then "crack a bottle" then "3am".
Iaint really listend to any of the songs more than once or twice though.
i dont think em has an accent on this one. The album is sounding ok, but i havent heard a hit yet.

This is probably my favorite new Em track of the ones that have leaked so far. I'm not going to say it's perfect, but it's pretty good. Dre's verses are good, though they were probably written by Em as they sound more like lines that Em would spit. Eminem's lyrics on this are dope, but once again, the goofy voices. Here it does seem toned down a bit (at least compared to "We Made You" and "3 AM"). I admire any artist that likes to experiment and try new sounds. But here, I'm just not sure it's working, and I hope he doesn't do this on the majority of the album. It seems that after the "Marshal Mathers LP," there was a noticeable change in Eminem's vocal tone. On his first two albums, he had an almost trademark whine to his delivery which I think worked fine. It's almost like he trying to cover up the "whiteness" in his voice. Could that be the reason for the different strange inflections? The thing is, Eminem's voice sounded fine on those first two cds. He's white. Everyone knows that. He should have a white voice. So far though, for whatever it's faults, "Crack a Bottle" seems to be the only new track where Em isn't severely altering his tone.
Overall though, I still have to say this is the best track I've heard off of his new album (IMO).

You know, this song is a lot better than people are giving it credit for (lack of credit?) I've heard it a few times in the ride and it gets better after every listen. Say what you want about it being a "generic Dre beat" or whatever, it bumps and the lyrical chemistry is there.
If you're still not feeling it, imagine any other regular Dre collaborator....Xzibit, Snoop, Kurupt, throw in Nate Dogg on the hook....over the beat and think if you would like it better. Maybe it's just Eminem and his "well-received" new accent that is causing you all to hate on it. And no I do not praise everything Emienm puts out. Didn't like Encore and only liked half of Eminem Show.
