I wouldn't say I get depressed, but when I need to be alone because I'm pissed off or for whatever reason I go for a drive. With no real destination in mind just drive. Or go to a spot that makes you happy.. The beach, a spot you have good memories at. I'm usually happy

1. Stop going on dubcc, too many depressed individuals on here(Job, Grundy etc.) it's not good being around that
2. Set your priorities, and do things that will help you reach your goals. You gotta start sometime
3. Smoke some weed, it clears your mind and helps you with option 2. Just make sure you remember your priorities though.

I agree with this, although the weed thing is optional. For some people, drinking/smoking/other drugs can help to relax them and enjoy life for a little bit, but some get worse off. The other thing I would recommend is a little vacation if you can, even if it's just a day trip to a beach or something like that.

I take some pills to balance out my mood and keep my mind off for it a while. I try to rectify the problem while balanced out, and then I get some sleep. Repeat till it works. No shit.  :sign_werd:

i want to say something jack assy funny, but i went through a bout of depression 4 years ago, and it sucked

but what helped me was

going to the gym and working out
eating a lot of oranges and bananas
drinking a lot of water
surrounding myself with good friends
listening to lots of music that spoke to me
learning new music on the guitar, picking up the piano and learning that

then eventually i found myself one day, really fit and healthy, surrounded by tons of people that loved to be around me, a brand new outlook on life that was positive and that people liked, and found my dream girl.

so the moral is just find ways to better yourself.

what do y'all do to deal with it or overcome it...

You should take this to the Train Of Thought section if you want more enlightened responses (although smoking ganja wasn't bad advice, it is the blessed herb, and has many positive spiritual benefits)....

Anyway...

Don't look at your pain/depression as something that necessarily needs to be avoided, or as something you shouldn't think about.  Actually your pain can be a beacon.  Your pain is trying to tell you something.  It is trying to direct you away from something that is not good for you.  So listen to your pain/depression and see what it is really telling you.

Sometimes we may be in a situation, and we become depressed.  And rather than getting out of the situation and moving onto something better, we instead consider ourselves to be "depressed" and therefore hopeless.  That's like being out in the cold weather and feeling uncomfortable, and thinking you just don't feel well when really all you need is a jacket or to find warmer weather.

Now you may feel stuck in a bad situation.  But there is always a way out of that situation.  It may require either self-improvement on your part to elevate above the situation, or it may require you to take a risk and leave the situation altogether.  But it can be done.

depends...is this a depression in long term thing or are you just depress today?  If you have depression, go see doctor about pretique (spelling error) or effexor... or if you just simply depress...go workout.

It doesn't "fuck with you."  Prestique is a new anti-depression medication that increase metabolism.
That's a new shit ppl need.  High metabolism=more active=more happy.  Many been using effexor which is actually anti-depression, but it kicks in after few weeks when used properly.  However, effexor just makes me not smile or sad...so it is what it is.

Either way.I've had bouts of depression and refrained from using medication. Its better to just work it out you become a stronger person for it rather then relying on a chemical substance that isn't natural

Truthfully, I would agree with you, however, there are many with chemical imbalance inside their head.  It's true..not for everyone, but it's for those with who seems overwhelmed.  I mean, old ppl can't do much physical activities, I guess that's why they need it?

The drawback about prestiq (lastest rx) is that it cause dizziness, dehydration, fatique, and constipation.
It works for some and don't.  Everyone is different with different needs.
I perfer effexor, because even it takes long time to kick in, it actually prevents depression.  All they need to do is boost a nice metabolism it's all gravy.

Or they need vitamins, such as B.

I realize that yes their is people with a chemical imbalance but these people are in the minority.Anti depressants are handed out way too easily in these times. Its just a legal no different then cocaine in that many become addicted and reliant on a substance that they never needed in the first place.

Infinite dropped some good advice as well.

If you smoke weed a lot, take a break for a week or so. It's nice to get high, but not great to be high all the time.

And avoid medication unless you are really, really at your wits end.

+1 to some of y'all in here, and lmao at some of the responses... got to admit I laughed at a few  8)

I don't know, just ain't been feeling it really and I'm always having mood swings, and just dumb shit tends to ruin my mood... a few months ago I was legit depressed but got over it with time, but now I kinda got that same feeling back... it's like a full 360 but in a bad way  :-\

I'm trying to quit weed for at least awhile to see if that helps, so far I haven't blazed since Sunday night, and I started going back to the gym the past 2 days... I'm thinking about maybe trying to work more hours too just to keep busy

BTW Infinite it's beyond me how you got such negative karma but I always see you posting some quality shit, +1... I was gonna make a thread in Train of Thought but I rarely post there and figured I might get more/faster responses here, even though I expected the jokes to go with it 8)

cut off all negativity around you, surround yourself with positive things, and learn from the past because it can happen to you again, so take from that experience and learn, grow from it. so accept reality, entertainment is not reality...the game doesnt act like a hardcore thug when hes sitting down having breakfast with his family or having a business meeting like yea man thas wat it is man  now eat them eggs man and pass me the fork auntee on damu

exercise both your body and your mind (learn new things to keep you from being dumb) so to achieve this you must set goals for yourself, realistic ones, small ones first, then big ones.

u gotta reprogram yourself. so go get em and hit em!

maybe you need to find yourself spiritually.
Word up.

You ain't gotta listen to your preacher, reverend, minister, priest or deacon, cuz can't nobody interpret The Bible for you, but I'm just sayin' read it homie, for you. I mean, I don't know what you believe or don't believe in, but....

No church, no preachers, no none of that. Read it for knowledge, inspiration, sumthin'.

You can find the knowledge of self, without being a black man. Learn about yourself man, as a human. I did, a while ago, shit's crazy. Realization is some strong stuff.

I mean I don't know what you mean by depressed either? Like you lost somebody? Death? That will pass over. Or depressed as in life, almost like it's almost coming a personality trait?

But as a nigga who stays on the same seas always, what has helped me, tremendously, was the advice I said in the beginning, altoughhh that's personal help, but I think The Bible is pretty universal and a good way to get out a slump. That, listen to some spiritual music. See I was gonna give you that from the jump, what helped me, but I doubt you'd really be inna-rested. But the one fact I could share, is The Bible, faith, homie.

What makes you happy? What brings out the innocence in you nigga? Get around that.

Ain't nuthin' korny about it.

Don't fucks with cliches, but homie, these words is true, everythang happens for a reason.

Infinite drops true shit man. He always do.

The best advice ever, but very very hard for anyone to actually do.
