It has all come down to this!
LOS ANGELES LAKERS VS. ORLANDO MAGIC
Make your predictions.
Lakers in 7.
-
lakers in 6
-
lakers in 6
-
orlando in 4... believe that
-
i gotta go wit my lakers in 6
-
Orlando are some scary motherfuckers man.
-
lakers in 6
-
Lakers in 5... I said it.
-
Lakers have no answer for Howard. Magic 4-2
-
lakers in 6
-
Lakers are the deepest team, with the best frontline and a certain #24. The only way they don't win is if they don't play to their full potential......which is very possible.
Orlando is also deep, and no one on the Lakers will get close to stopping Howard if he can keep making his ft's. THe Magic are on fire from three right now,. but I don't think they can maintain it.
I picked the Lakers in the finals last year, and I am doing it again.
Lakers in 6, Kobe with his first finals MVP.
But damn would I love to see the Magic win, and Howard get an MVP (even though he is BARELY better than Bynum ;)
-
Lakers are waiting this moment for one year , the focus and energy will be here .... Lakers in 6
-
Lakers in 6
-
I don't care how many games it takes - I just want another championship!
-
The Magic matchup really well against the Lakers. That's why I think it will go 7 games. They are a scary team. But I think the Lakers will prevail. Bynum, it is your time to step it up.
-
I don't care how many games it takes - I just want another championship!
I'd prefer the series to last 6 games, so the Lakers can win it at home, but who am I to be picky?
-
The main reason we both lost (very closed games) against them is not playing so that's already a good thing ...
-
A true test of character for Bynum here, let's see how he handles Howard
I can't see the Lakers losing this
BUT if Orlando keeps this level of play up, they have a solid chance..
-
LAKERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
-
Our bigs will have trouble guarding but Turgolu or Lewis on Pau that is also a big disadvantage for them. Thats why it will be key for Bynum to stay out of foul trouble and force Howard to guard him. I predict one hell of a series with a lot of points. These last two game for the Lakers have been really promising tho so i hope they stay playing like that and take advantage of the D thats in front of them.
-
MAGIC IN 5! 8)
in my honest & not even sarcastic opinon, i would say SOME Laker fans on this board could almost care less what happens in this series because we all know the series you REALLY cared about ended tonight.

Imo , Lamar has to start ...
Defensive matchups : Fish on Skip 2 my Lou, Ariza on Lee , Kobe on Turkoglu , Lamar on Lewis and Pau on Dwight .
Offensive wise , we have to force Howard to defend Gasol ( remember when Pau arrived in 08 , he dropped 30 him , drew fouls ... ) and to be in foul trouble ... Pau can face up and shoot the midrange J AND it will keep Dwight outside the paint then Kobe and LO can cut to the basket .... LO is at his best against defenders which are very slow to move laterally , Hedo and Lewis cannot defend to save their life ...
Plus , if you start Bynum , the spacing on offense is not good and Howard will be able to anchor the paint
If you start Bynum , he will pick up 2 fouls very early and it will result in being forced of putting the 5 I just described so why not save Bynum off the bench and feed him on the post against Gorat ... who ? lol
-
lakers in 6
8) 8) 8)
-
Lakers in 5..
Burn them fouls, M'Benga... Burn Burn.
(Need to throw all the big bodies at Howard, he alone can't do it).
L.A. is not the one-man team the casual fan who only watches games here and there thinks.
Those of us who have the privilege to see the Lakers play on a regular know that Kobe has a great team w/him.
(w/The benefit of having the Kobe card to play, he don't need 40+ like the early 2000's but he can if needed)
against Orlando they won't need it.^^
Congrat's to Orlando, But I can already see that Championship ring & Jacksons destiny.
-
Lakers in 7
-
lakers fan but cant underestimate howard and magics talent
they are a dope team
-
MAGIC IN 5! 8)
Crown them already ..
-
MAGIC IN 5! 8)
Crown them already ..
you know. ;) ;D 8)
-
lakers in 6
YUP! wish I could go home for that.... damn I miss Cali... :'(
-
7 GAMES
-
The Lakers are a pretty big favorite again this year getting a -269 price to take the championship. Will they get upset and choke two years in a row? Hopefully it's a good series and goes 7.
-
This could be a good series. As I said before, this might be a tougher matchup for the Lakers then the Cavs would be. The Lakers experience in the finals last year SHOULD help them a ton, plus they get homecourt against Orlando. Anybodies series.
-
i think orlando can really take em!
-
yeah no doubt
the same heads sayin lakers will take em EASILY might have something in store for em
i think orlando can really take em!
-
Magic in 6!
-
I don't care how many games it takes - I just want another championship!
-
Magic in 7
-
Orlando in 6
-
well im sure the maic are the underdog, they wouldnt have it any other way 8) thats how people have viewed them the whole playoffs, too inexperienced, too young, no defence, to many threes. yet here they are in the finals ;D
-
laker haters you pre order your magic jerseys yet??? or you still waiting to return the denver once ??
-
laker haters you pre order your magic jerseys yet? or you still waiting to return the denver
it's in the pile with the Cleveland and Houston ones.... on top of Boston
-

can i just borrow yours? ;D
DON'T FRONT! ;)
-
I think the Lakers got this even though the Magic are dangerous as fuck
-
i predict the MAgic sweep
-
I think the Lakers got this even though the Magic are dangerous as fuck
it's going to come down to how the Magic shoot the 3 ball.
if there on they could possibly sweep it or take it in 5.
but if they are stuggling & Bynum or Pau does a decent job on Dwight, it could go Lakers in 4 just as easily.
the Magic beat them twice in the regular season, so we'll see how it plays out.
-
gunna be a good series, magic are dangerous, want the lakers to take it but im not sure who is gunna take it.
-
lakers in 6
-
lakers in 5
-
IMO, Get used to this finals for the next couple of years.
Lakers got this one.. tho.
In 5.
-
IF the Lakers play defense with that same agression they did in games 5 and 6 vs Denver i can see this being over in 5, but im gonna say 6 games Lakers
-
laker haters you pre order your magic jerseys yet??? or you still waiting to return the denver once ??
lol@ stupid Laker fans...
"If you think the Lakers will or can lose...youre a hater!!!" lol Grow up...this isnt middle school....
-
Magic in 7
-
Well word is Nelson is going to play in the finals.
-
Well word is Nelson is going to play in the finals.
they're blowing it out of proportion
if they inserted him into Game 1 and he did some shit I could see Magic getting excited
but nobody's seen him play since Feb. so why KEEP talking about it?
it's the only story running for The Finals right now
-
I think the Lakers got this even though the Magic are dangerous as fuck
it's going to come down to how the Magic shoot the 3 ball.
that's been my theory too
if they hit their 3's and they keep raining, Lakers are fucked in some games
Howard will get his, just shut down at least 2 of Orlando's 4 shooters
-
^if Jameer comes back & came put in some DOPE mintues, i think it's a wrap; given they can shoot well from 3.
-
^if Jameer comes back & came put in some DOPE mintues, i think it's a wrap; given they can shoot well from 3.
Its anyones game till they actually play, u claimed that the Cavs had the finals won before they even played 1 game against the Magic.
-
They played twice in the season with a healthy Jameer and both were close ass games with Orlando winning both. I expect a great series with or without Jameer.
-

We'll see ;)

^is that the real cover? looks sick. :o
-
ya if thats the real cover thats pretty tight.
-
go magic
-
go magic
-
Well that was a damn nice game, but i dont expect this to happen again, Magic are too talented. 1 game in the bag which is always nice and definetly sent a early message. 3 more to go 8)
-
Yeah good win for the Lakers. They say game 1 is the easiest game for the road team to win. But if Orlando was going to win one of the first two in LA, i didnt see it being this one. When the Lakers are focused they are very hard to beat. They become very beatable when they lose focus...which COULD happen at home, after a blowout victory.
-
hellyeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 8)
good all around game
-
wow i think the clippers would have put up more of a fight than that.
-
It feels so goooood to see Jon Barry talk good about the Lakers. I have no idea why, but the former Laker loves to talk shit about the Lakers... lol.
-
1 down 3 more to go
-
And if u dont think what kobe was doin tonight was strategy ur trippin, now they are gonna spend time trying to stop that and ill bet next game he comes out passin.
-
Magic are finished. Kobe was out of this world tonight
-
Magic are finished. Kobe was out of this world tonight
nah Magic had a bad game, they win the next game that totally changes everything.
-
If you don't agree Kobe is the fuckin best then slap yourself and sit in the corner.
-
Magic are finished. Kobe was out of this world tonight
nah Magic had a bad game, they win the next game that totally changes everything.
I think they'll win their first game at home.... but game 2 looks to be Darth Mamba's.

kobe came out wearin a superman outfit, must've stole it from dwight

Natural to be more critical of the team you care about the most. Which is why i say some of these cheerleaders in here arent real fans.
-

Yeah that is a touchy subject for a lot of fans, it depends on what you're saying I guess. Some fans or analysts seem like they don't ever want to say something positive and that gets old, but some are homers and that's extremely obnoxious. People don't understand that a few negative comments are just pointing out that the team can play better, it has nothing to do with being a hater.
As for the game, the Lakers played their style and Orlando didn't make the adjustments they needed to make and really struggled with their shot. I was glad the game was a blowout because the officiating was atrocious but the flow of the game made it a non-factor. I still think Lakers in 6 and that the Magic will hit a few more of those shots the next game.
-
Kobe destroyed them.
-
Lakers were defo in 100% championship mode last night.
(As far as Kobe, maybe because I watch him play all the time... But same shit different....)
He has this impact win/lose everytime out, Nothing new The guy is an amazing B-ball player.
Nothing he does will surprise me anymore...lol
(Shit I watched dude score 81pts)
-
If you don't agree Kobe is the fuckin best then slap yourself and sit in the corner.
-
thats cuz they're a bunch of punk bitches now
-
I'm shocked that there's actually 15 votes for the Magic. :grumpy:
-
Someone should lock this pole now, alot of bandwagon fans will jump in now.
It won't be official.
-
3 MORE WINS
-
Kobe didn't take a bad shot last night. Can't remember the last time he did that.
-
Magic are finished. Kobe was out of this world tonight

LMAO...I'm just now reading through this thread. funny shit.

maybe because our organization shitted on him and had him playing towel boy minutes way behind Kobe when he was here LOLLL... why else do you think his whole focus as an analyst is to talk shit about Kobe and the Lakers?...that was his goal in working for ESPN. REVENGE. :-X

LA in 6 8)
-
Magic can't play any worse really.....they shot under 30% for the entire game! Wow. They had a lot of open looks but couldn't connect. Howard was horrible, maybe his worst game of the year.
Kobe was sick with his in game 1, but still, dude MISSED 18 SHOTS, so its not like he was godly. I like the Magic's chances in game 2 if he misses that many again.
I have said all season that the Lakers have the most talented team, and that their is no way they shouldn't win the title. It looks as though they have it on lock, but a lot can happen. I think the series will go 6 for sure.........
-

The Lakers could finish off the series tonight, gonna be a good game though, no 25 point spread or anything.
Prediction: it goes down to the final few seconds....
-
I see Orlando leading for most the game. If the Lakers win, I think they will keep up through 3 quarters and turn it on in the 4th.
-
LOL @ KOBE GETTING HIS ASS STUFFED & THEN BITCHING LIKE IT WAS A FOUL!
that was by far the cleanest block i have ever seen & Kobe was looking for a call, i'm honestly surprized he didn't get it lol.

you knew this was coming as soon as the 4th ended.
great game; Magic played better, could have won; but need game 3 or it's a wrap.

you might also want to note that the Magic live & die from the line & if they can shoot lights out from out there they could easily win the next four games.
they could have easily won last night, the Lakers got lucky, LMAO!
-
lol at going to the IF and COULD, anyone could say that shit, u called them in 4 or 5 dont lie.
-
lol at going to the IF and COULD, anyone could say that shit, u called them in 4 or 5 dont lie.
LOL, YOU GUYS ARE SICK!
i did call them in 5!
i said if they hit there threes (there entire offense in based on the 3), they could sweep.
but it's not like what i said isn't true; the only reason the Magic are in the finals is because they shot there asses off in the Eastern Conference Finals & i know that, you know that, NIK knows that & the rest of the world knows that; but since i'm it's against the Lakers your trying to call me out on something that is actually true; that's crazy! :o
it's not like i just pulled something out of thin air like, "well if Hedo scores 45 a night they could sweep" or "if Dwight gets 10 blocks a game they could sweep", but it was logical & the truth about the Magic & i'm getting called out on it, LMFAO!
-
haha magic should have won last night tho

haha magic should have won last night tho
they easily could have, but instead they just dug themselves into a deep hole, putting them up against the wall in a must win game 3.

thats because there have been times in the past were the refs admittedly screwed the lakers on purpose, you damn moron. ive only brought it up when it was blatant.

yeah i doubt he got any sleep and will lose alot of sleep over that last missed shot cuz some will say for years to come he ruined that game and missed a open shot (open shot or shot thats what they gon say and blame the loss on him)

I think it's funny how people will talk so much trash about the officials missing calls when they lose, but then do everything to talk about a couple bad ones against them and how hard it is to call when they are on the winning end. Howard's early block was goaltending and that ball probably didn't go off Kobe's knee, yet Pietrus had at least 2 fouls take him out of the game that were nonexistent, Kobe tripped and they bailed him out with the call on Hedo, Fisher's uncontrolled drive in OT was puzzling and Courtney Lee got hacked by Odom on his late drive to the game. The NBA's reputation took a hit with all the Donaghy stuff and it's hard to ignore. If one team got screwed in the calls yesterday, it was Orlando.
-
^ that's bull shit, there were plenty of bad calls on both sides of the ball. i know it and you know it.
-
But down the stretch in the last few minutes plus OT, how many went against the Lakers or were no-calls? Maybe 2? Orlando had at least 6 that they got jobbed on. Orlando really screwed themselves and didn't take advantage of their chances, but the NBA officiating is horrible because it is so inconsistent and lopsided. These teams have each benefitted from generous calling on their way here and been on the bad side of the refs, it's a major problem that I'm not sure will be resolved anytime soon.
-
^there were horrible calls down the stretch that went both ways in the last game...it wasnt like Game 4 of the Lakers-Rockets series where the officiating was blatantly one sided.
-
^The refs really handed that one over to LA... it doesn't have to be as blatant as Houston - LA, Miami - Dallas or LA - Sacramento. Kobe got at least 3-4 bailout calls during the last minutes of the 4th, that also unjustifiedly put Pietrus out of the game.
-
lmao, should have know ppl would start saying this shit as soon as we started to win.

-
all you guys are faggots, just now noticing NBA officiating
for the past 4 years I've been on this site I've always been going hard on these pussy refs
the fact people now are making a big deal out of it (in my opinion, last year was worse) is pretty annoying
and another note
I love how the Lakers are "stealing" games when the opposition is playing like shit and their superstar is MIA
keep it comin :-*
-

and there were also bad calls against him in those closing minutes...like when the ball went off pietrus and they called it off Kobe. If the officiating was one-sided, there wouldnt have been bad calls AGAINST Kobe...PeACe

NBA officiating sucks, it has nothing to do with the Lakers winning games; it's been bad for years lol.
the refs just find a way to suck A LOT more during the playoffs though lol.

God damn Kobe..it ain't even fair why you gotta do em like that :'( :'(

75% from the field...and a 5 point lead lol Magic are in trouble...
-
Magic played a perfect game n barely won, so thats a positive for us. Kobe just ran out of gas after that hot start but he was the reason for pretty much keepin us in at the start, his freethrows were off from the start. And i there were so many missed calls again, they replay every laker foul so the annoucers can say that wasnt a foul but they replay like 10% of the Magic ones. But i guess sometime u gotta take the L. Im not to worried if thats the best the Magic can give us, it seemed like every shot went in.

I actually think both teams played good tonight
-
crucial turnovers(kobe), tons of missed freethrows. That cost us the game. both teams played good but magic played near perfect bball, every player had an impact and wa productive when needed.
-
kobe bout to make up in game 4
-
not worried at all...Magic played the best they possibly could and barely won. if it wasn't for some stupid ass missed free throws, we woulda easily had this game. we got the next 2, no doubt.
-
Damn Nick Anderson...I mean Kobe Bryant was horrible at the line tonight. Ahh well I'm not trippin. It took 5 missed free-throws from Kobe and 62% team shooting for them to forge a 2 point win.
-
Kobe was
cluuuuutch... how come nobody really complains about this?
-
I saw a Kobe Bryant that was tired, very tired. I hope he rest up, and stay away from those dancers... lol.
I saw this as a lost, Orlando was too hot, and the Lakers played great basketball, but Orlando was just too damn hot. The 96 Bulls would have a problem beating a team that shot 63%. The Lakers kept it close the whole 2nd half, and almost pulled it off, but Howard made a great play on that Kobe strip. I look for Kobe to redeem himself in game 4, Lakers win easy. But this game was Orlando, they were lights out shooting.
-

don't use those "if's" & "coulda, shoulda, woulda's" now. ;)

why not? it's true...Kobe doesnt typically miss 5 free throws. LOL
-
& Orlando doesn't typically lose when they shoot like they did last night.
but when i say they "could" win "if" they shoot like they did last night, thats a crazy statement; because they didn't prove that in the Cavs series. ::) ;D
GO MAGIC! 8)

that wasn't the point i was trying to raise though.
i said a few days ago that if the Magic shoot well they won't lose; then you & a few others jumped on that saying it was stupid because anybody can say that.
the Magic have streaks where they don't miss like last night (meaning it happens more than once in the bluemoon) & they won.
"If" they shoot like that they "could" win; they shot like that & they won.
that's all. 8)

you said that Cleveland coulda won against Orlando if they shot better, which was a very bland statement ..any team can win if they shoot better, you gotta be more detailed in your basketball analysis. when a player who doesn't typically miss 5 free throws misses 5 free throws, that's a very good point to bring up...u dont see the difference? LOL
-
Almost anytime a game is close in sports, at any level, it's a game that the losing team could have won. Even some blowouts I have watched or played in I've known if a few plays would have worked then it would have been a completely different game and the outcome could have been reversed. In this game, the Lakers missed some opportunities and the Magic played well offensively most of the game and made enough plays to win. The Magic shot so well because they worked the ball around better, fed off the home crowd and got a lot of open looks in the game. The Lakers still shot 51% with like 4 or 5 misses at the very end of the game, so it's not like Orlando's FG % is the only one likely to go down next game.
-
game 3 has been the best game but damn them refs arent worth shit for real
tha ball goes out on odom and its laker ball?
-
aite lets see who takes game 4
ill be back maybe on thursday and see whats good

they did Lakers played good on O, There defense wasnt close to as good as it can be. And the Magic Played Perfect.

At the end of the first quarter...
Bynum - 2 fouls
Gasol - 2 fouls
Odom - 2 fouls.
Geez I wonder who the refs are trying to help out. Ughhh I feel like an 06 Dallas Maverick.

Fuckin Howard man! This nigga is shutting the paint down. Ugh if only Bynum could do the same on the other end.
-
i swear hedo pushes off everytime he goes in the paint but its so slight it never gets called. I would sooner see us get blown out then lose all these close games.
-
we do so many good things to get back in it then it seems like once we take the lead we forget about it, pretty fuckin rediculous. We dont deserve to win when we play like this.

Seriously though, I expected Howard to miss those FT's while they were holding the lead and for the Lakers to hit that tying 3, it almost seemed scripted. It was pretty sloppy, but both teams got after it and it was a close fight. Orlando missed way too many opportunities down the stretch, they didn't take advantage. I still question what Van Gundy does during the time-outs, their inbounds plays were horribly drawn up, and they acted like they couldn't throw it up to Howard after he sets a screen. And they should have put in a taller defender on the Lakers inbound instead of Nelson. They did a lot of things well, but they don't have the high IQ and experience to handle the end of game situations against this Lakers squad.
-
Fuckin Howard man! This nigga is shutting the paint down. Ugh if only Bynum could do the same on the other end.
Bynum is always being caught out of position on offense. And I don't know why the Lakers kept trying to drive to the basket when the Magic kept crowding the paint.
-
officiating is horrendous.....
Many bad calls both ways. :grumpy:
-
Two things
Lakers didn't so much win as the Magic lose... but in the Finals, every win is earned... lol
Derek Fisher is officially the closer... One of Jerry West greatest draft picks... Ironically, Mr. Clutch drafted another Mr. Clutch.

This..and it was probably the best officiated game of the series. I thought it was pretty even for the most part, and Orlando made too many mistakes to let that be an excuse. Kobe's elbow to Nelson will probably talked about and it was a foul, but Orlando made the mistake of letting it get to that point. Odom also hooked Howard and pushed off to get a rebound on Lewis' miss late in the 4th with a 5-point lead, but they tend to put whistles away, and Howard probably would have missed the FT's anyway.
Also, why the hell did Gortat only play 4 minutes?? I don't understand Stan Van Gundy's logic.

I have no problem with how it went down. Gasol was going for that easy dunk when he could have run the clock out, Pietrus did the right thing by fouling him. That's pretty much what you are taught, you don't let a team showboat on you. Gasol had his right to be mad, and the refs handled it how they should have. I don't take Gasol as a fighter though, with all the whining he does during games. Most bball players aren't fighters though really.

I agree, that was a bad call. Odom and Bynum committed a lot of dumb fouls, most of them were fouls though. Odom complained when he bit on that pump fake and they called it, but Kobe has gotten those calls all series. NBA officiating is easily the worst out of all the sports, the stench of the Donaghy era still presides over it, and it makes it my least favorite sport to watch at times, even though I love to play and watch bball.

Be real, the game was over, Orlando had lost their chances in the game. They definitely played it horribly and it was a frustration foul, but that is playoff basketball. As a coach, you want to see that your players care and you don't want them to let the opponents rub it in at the end. With that lead and time situation, you can dribble out and waste more time, or you dunk and expect to get fouled hard.

i know, i said that was a fustration foul in my first post but the thing i was saying why would u risk it if ur pau. They were going to foul u either way, so in no way is that show boating. We had seen many missed free throws down the stretch in the last 2 games so if ur him why would u put ur self into a pressure situation.

every Laker hater (and most fans) has been talkin crazy shit about Fisher this playoffs!
just daggered 'em 8)
-
Pau could have dribbled out to waste more time, I'm not saying he did the wrong thing, just that the situation went down the way you would expect in a high-intensity playoff game.
Fisher killed it with those shots, I think it's mostly fans that have been trashing him this postseason (and some of it was for good reason), but those were some clutch shots.
-

The incredible thing is that refs from let's say the Spanish league, or the Italian league, or the Turkish league are 10x better than the NBA ones.
JUST USE INTERNATIONAL REFS, DAMN STERN! YOURS ARE EMBARASSING.
-
I haven't watched too much international ball, but I think you've said this before a few times. The touch fouls and inconsistency are really bad and I don't know how much better it is in European leagues, but the footwork stuff is really bad. Travels, carries, and guys touching the ball when they are out of bounds. I have seen at least 5 plays in this series where a guy's foot is out of bounds while saving it and it hasn't been ruled out.
Ya ppl will always bitch n complain about fouls n refs but when it comes down to it, its all about making shots.
Sometimes they have valid points, but usually the team complaining missed shots that could have sealed it. Orlando and their fans can't complain about the refs today, they buckled down the stretch after playing a great 4th quarter.
-
I haven't watched too much international ball, but I think you've said this before a few times.
Yeah, my father is a former international ref and FIBA commissioner. It's like that, trust me.

They call everything here. Every damn travel. Trust me when i say tonight they made at least 30 non-called travels during the game. At least. That's why i'm mad about NBA refs. They should call them every fucking time, so players can learn how to play correctly, and you ref can do the same type of calls in every game, from the 1st second to the last. I see it with the NBA players who came here to play basketball, in Italy. The first 3-4 games they make 10 travels per game. Then they learn how to dribble and how to go to the basket correctly, and they reduce them to 2-3. After a pair of years they don't travels anymore. REFS SHOULD TEACH NBA PLAYERS. AND NBA PLAYERS SHOULD LEARN. It's not that hard. Have you seen that play in Game-3 where Pietrus did that incredible travel? Damn, the most embarassing one i've ever seen. And they didn't call it. Not even in the 4th leage in italy the refs are so bad! No joke.

I dunno how anyone can claim we didnt beat the Magic AND the refs tonight... :-X. The disparity at the free throw line in the 4th was disgusting. what was it, like 19-0 in favor of Orlando? there was a good 10 minute stretch when they were only calling shit on Orlando's end. the two or three calls we got definitely didn't make up for all the consistent horrible calls against us throughout the game. I dunno if it's because Vegas favored Orlando by 2 and a half points, or what, but some of the calls out there were so horrendous that Phill had to call the officiating "bogus" when he was interviewed mid-game. you know a fine is comin up for that one...LOL
either way, we won and were 1 game away from the shiney stuff. Fisher comin' through like I thought he would. 8)

On a side note, isn't inserting a PG who was injured for months just into the Finals and giving him big minutes while taking the confidence of the PG who played without a question mark since the All-Star break the dumbest idea ever by a NBA Finals coach?

LOL...i feel bad for Alston, but Nelson is too good to not play.

Either you play him before the Finals and get some sort of rhythm into the team, or you don't play him at all... inserting a PG after all these months of absence when the other PG has never even played an NBA game with him is shaking the whole team up and taking all the rhythm out of the team... and rhythm is the most important thing for a team that lives and dies with streaky ranged shooting. SVG lost.

officiating is horrendous.....
Many bad calls both ways. :grumpy:
This..and it was probably the best officiated game of the series. I thought it was pretty even for the most part, and Orlando made too many mistakes to let that be an excuse. Kobe's elbow to Nelson will probably talked about and it was a foul, but Orlando made the mistake of letting it get to that point. Odom also hooked Howard and pushed off to get a rebound on Lewis' miss late in the 4th with a 5-point lead, but they tend to put whistles away, and Howard probably would have missed the FT's anyway.
Also, why the hell did Gortat only play 4 minutes?? I don't understand Stan Van Gundy's logic.
true,at least it was consistently shitty lol.
i was wondering about gortats absence as well, especially with L.A.'s frontline foul problems. also i would have stayed with alston if i was van gundy.
Indeed, fuck Nelson..Rafer was having a great game...I just don't get it.

Yeah, expecially since A.Johnson was playing very well.

Yeah, but he lost a key ball in OT, and he did that mistake to Fisher. Two dumb plays.

thanx to Fisher we're 1 win away from winning the championship  :banana_rock:

Rafer had two quick turnovers the swung moment to the Lakers favor in the 3rd quarter, and looked to be sinking since. He had a great first half, second half he was missing shots and got off rhythm. So he went with Nelson, who may have sucked shooting, but was protecting the ball and getting people shots. I think originally Nelson was just there to rest Rafer, who played the whole 3rd, but once he found Howard Van Gundy stuck with him.

The Knicks should get Skip to my Lou, 'cause after this season there will be beef between him and Van Gundy. It wouldn't come out now, there's a title to be won, but I think Van Gundy likes Nelson better, and Alston will find a new home. I think the Knick will want to finally rebuild soon, and who better than the local legend to lead the Knicks.
-
Nate is very popular in NY. Alston should definitely leave the Magic, though. But I can't picture him to be fine with being a back-up, and most starting PGs are at least as good as he is. Greece maybe? lol

I'm sure he can find a team to start for. A good day to day point guard is always in need of someone in the NBA.

crazy shot by Fish.
great game; but the series ended last night lol.
Lakers take this next game.

Check some other fourms, niggas still have the nerve to say the refs gave us the W. I'm still amazed at the haters sometimes.

Lol ye they will always hate when they're losin. 3-1, hate all u like.

it will always be like that with winning teams
this old dude at my job was a Celtics fan in the 80s, then became a Spurs fan when it got heated with L.A.
he never will give any props and the funny thing to all us is, he follows basketball just to belittle the Lakers when they happen to lose and warn us what we're in for!
he's a normal guy but whenever the Lakers come up he fuckin loses his temper and starts yelling the opposite thing and looks like he wants to fight
I mean I hate teams like the Yankees and Patriots, etc.... but I don't watch those sports to pay attention to them!

People usually only see 1 side of that argument because they are rooting too hard for 1 team. NBA refs are really bad, and the way the game went Orlando should have had more FT's, but not that many more. People will point to that elbow by Kobe, but with the score all tied up and a little over a minute, I still don't think Orlando would have won that game. They buckled under pressure late, and the Lakers made the plays that a champion makes.

LMFAO...holy crap. IF the game was fixed, it was CLEARLY so that Orlando could keep it close throughout the 4th. anyone who claims the refs benefited the Lakers needs to slap themselves to death...NOW. the disparity in free throws was horrendous, and the Lakers took more shots in the paint! I hate bennet salvator more than i hate elmer crawfudd. somebody seriously needs to put a hit out on these ancient refs who've been fucking up games consistently throughout their careers.
-
the way the game went Orlando should have had more FT's,
wtf? the whole 4th quarter and overtime was a freethrow shooting contest between Orlando players...lmao.
-
dope game but damn magic should have won
lol @ lettin fisher shoot that 3 in that situation
-
1 more win and it's Celebration Time!! Although I won't be over-turning any cars with all the crazy's out there. Just some good old fashioned celebrating! 8)
-
the way the game went Orlando should have had more FT's,
so 37 attempts for Orlando versus 20 for the Lakers isn't enough?
let me break it down for you.... you're an idiot
-
If Orlando got more FTs, the way they were shooting, would have been worst to Orlando.
-
Even with the poor shooting percentages for Kobe in this finals, this is his best finals out of 6. He only averaged like 15 or 16 one year hey won, and the last year him and Shaq lost he took 6 more shots a game then Shaq, yet only shot 30 something percent compared to Shaq's 63%. Last year, he showed no fire when it mattered most (likely burned out).
This year, Kobe is going for it. He isn't shooting that well (his percentages have never been near the GOATS) but he is playing quite well, and that is really all he has to do to get an MVP this year.

And ya, Orlando got calls last game while the Lakers didn'
t, but the Lakers weren't playing agressively enough for a stretch either. BUt clearly the Magic are not as good as the Lakers.

That got you fired up didn't it? Learn to read, they deserved to go to the line more often than the Lakers, but not that many times more. I was talking about how bad the officiating is, why would I defend them?

I was lazy and didn't write it out completely, but if you look at the context it shouldn't be that hard. If you just quote that one line, then it looks like how you guys took it.

I had to do it, I was wrong 'bout DJ but....lol (They didn't use him to burn)

Haha I know exactly what play you were talking about, he took at least 3 steps to the lane there on a layup attempt. I know the NBA doesn't like to call that travel stuff, but even this was excessive.
Does anybody know why the Magic refused to go inside to Howard, or have Gortat play more often? Van Gundy got debacled in the coaching matchup. Props to the Lakers for getting over the hump, great season. Enjoy it while it lasts, next year is Clippers vs. Knicks.
