You read The Bible for yourself and live by that, instead of goin' to a church where you gots the biggest hypocritical preachers tryin' to tell you how to live. They quote verses and out of their own interpretations preach it onto you. Can't nobody interrupt nuthin' for you.
I don't mind goin' to church, I feel right when I leave, but it feels even better when your done reading The Bible and realize you was living right from the jump.

I was agnostic w/ a heavy atheist lean up until about a year ago.
Now I def believe in God. Religions all across the world have purposely distorted God for control and manipulation, but when you look at the fundamentals of most religions they are pretty much the same.

But how does the fact that the fundamentals of most religions are the same prove that there is a God? To me it proves that man has learned what kind of control religion can have over a people, and have copied eachothers strory-telling for centuries.

I Believe there may be an energy across the universe, that we humans re not able to gauge or measure or feel, a force that acts like a tide and has had an effect on the development of earth. Consensus is not science. Most scientists once thought Einstein was an idiot for his crazy theories. Then he showed them the science and they had to accept his theories as likely. Most scientists once thought the earth was flat. Most scientists once thought the Earth was the centre of the universe. Most scientists....
It's no coincidence that most scientists are dead wrong over the course of history. When you do not have the technology to properly study something just don't call it science, because it isn't. Maybe we'll have it one day and it'll show that it is 4.5 billion. Maybe it'll show that it's 2.2, or 12. A hypothesis like that is simply that, a hypothesis, and it cannot be studied yet.
There simply is no science on this earth that can differentiate the difference between something that is 100,000 years old and a million years old. So let's hold off on the billions of years old.

Morals are created by society, there is no intrinsic moral code...haven't you read a history book? Every society has had different moral beliefs. At one time it was okay to sacrifice people to the gods. If god had given us an internal moral system then every society would be the same.

Morals are created by society, there is no intrinsic moral code...haven't you read a history book? Every society has had different moral beliefs. At one time it was okay to sacrifice people to the gods. If god had given us an internal moral system then every society would be the same.

I was agnostic w/ a heavy atheist lean up until about a year ago.
Now I def believe in God. Religions all across the world have purposely distorted God for control and manipulation, but when you look at the fundamentals of most religions they are pretty much the same.
But how does the fact that the fundamentals of most religions are the same prove that there is a God? To me it proves that man has learned what kind of control religion can have over a people, and have copied eachothers strory-telling for centuries.
