Damn, if they keep leaking all their shit it's not exactly gonna help sales.

This isn't on their album. This is off of Royce's EP that drops tomorrow. Crooked's new EP drops on July 21st will also feature a new Slaughter House track that will not appear on the actual Slaughter House album.

Yeah.  This is the second track out of 4 tracks on Royce Da 5'9's e.p., which was supposed to go on sale tomorrow.  So, yeah it's not exactly going to encourage people to pay for the e.p. now that they can get half of it for free.  On the other hand, maybe they didn't intend for this track to leak.

i got my link, i can't wait to bump.

this Warriors track is unreal; they just all kill it.

Joey goes & slaughters it, but then Crooked just comes out & absolutely WRECKS the beat & then ROYCE comes & just OWNS IT & then Joell just KILLS IT! 8)

Crooked > Joey > Royce > Joell (on this track).

EDIT: scratch that order; Crooked > Royce > Joey > Joell.

One of my favorite Slaughterhouse tracks to date. Usually when I listen to a Slaughterhouse track, I come away with an opinion about who had the tightest verse (and no, it's not always the same person).  This might be the first track from them where it seemed to me that they all sounded equally tight.

That was the plan when they spoke of it last month, but nothing since then has been confirmed from either Joe or Joell, so I don't know what the deal is with them at the moment?

Joe hasn't confirmed it. My guess is NO. Same with Joell. Crooked is the only one after Royce that has a confirmed release date.

I was wondering about that too.  I remember at one time,  them all talking about dropping little solo projects before the full length "Slaughterhouse" project.  I guess plans could have changed though.

after listening to this several times

i want to say i think Joey had the best verses on the song

but the best LINE was Crooked's "Weapon Waste/Waist"  8)

I just don't care for Crooked's first verse very much....that's a rare occurance LOL

Damn, I really came off as a hater in this thread  :D Wasn't hating just dropping my honest opinion. I'm just tired of hearing these songs from them we're they're just straight lyrical and going off, it was cool at first with Onslaught and Slaughterhouse but now I want to see some more complete songs like Move On.

Hey, even I liked the Bishop/X song.   I don't even know what that song is about, aside from the chorus, it's just like a slaughterhouse song, lines going at whack rappers, just not as potent as S.H.

Now if S.H. would have stayed on track with "Wack MCs" it coulda came out like this?  This is a case where Song Concept owns lyrical ability...  S.H. talks about so much shit in one song it's not structured at all.  Here Bishop and friends stick to just 1 topic sorta, and it works better...

The criticism that they need to create better structured material is justified.   Move On is their best song.  After that it's Woodstock.

Being lyrical is essential but it only takes an artist so far.  Classic artist learn to craft quality songs.  They know when to place a metaphor or a simile or an alliteration.  They understand the power of words; that, constantly dropping punchlines isn't effective communication.  They can be conceptual and relate it to "ideals" of men.  blah blah blah

It's kind of like Jay comments about how he'd prefer a real line that reflects a truth that most can relate to over a metaphor.  For example, Jay uses Drake's line off Successful
Quote
I know success is coming, I just hope I'm alive for it.

Or how I prefer 50 Cent's If I Can't over any of Slaughterhouse's material aside from Move On (remix).

Being lyrical is essential, it's the foundation of a quality rapper but if you don't evolve and learn how to manipulate the skill you're unlikely to connect to as many people.  Lupe is one of the few who manages to balances this well.  Jay clearly realized this early on.
