Title: Predictions for first week slaughterhouse?
Post by: Jaydc555 on July 08, 2009, 05:47:53 AM
I know sales doesn't matter to this group nor to me.As long as its good music I could care less. That being said how many units do you think they will move first week and how many total whens its all said and done?I'm going with 20,000 first week and 100,000 when its all said and done

Even though there's all this message board hype going around for Slaughterhouse, those same people will bootleg the album.

True. The Crooked fans ride hard too, so there's another 15-20k there. But they might not be used to actually buying an album in stores with Crooked's face on the cover.

OK, new estimate 40-50k. ;D

Probably 20-30k. Depends how well its distributed and if people are feeling them on Rock the Bells. If it gets 5mics or XXL then it will do pretty big numbers as more people take a listen.

I'm still undecided, from the sounds of the members they still have a lot more buzz to create in the mainstream before the album drops. Depends a lot on that.

i can see it doing better, or worse.  the economy won't hold ME back from buying this album but there's alotta cheapskates who'll just DL it

I'm sorry but how exactly is "The One" as a representation of a project (which a first single is) a big fuck you to the major label and the bullshit they put out ? If anything they're saying "we agree with releasing corny tracks as first singles".
Title: Re: Predictions for first week slaughterhouse?
Post by: ikke on July 13, 2009, 07:50:59 AM
Seeing the response from some friends of mine who normally only listen mainstream rap I think 'The One' Is actually going to chart well.
So the album will  probably sell well too
Title: Re: Predictions for first week slaughterhouse?

i like 'The One', its much better than most the crappy singles i've heard in recent times. regardless of the single though, the point is more about people buying into the lyrical talent of the group. all these dudes have more rapping ability than 90% of the cats being pushed these days. i'm certain the album as a whole will be a solid showcase of their abilities.

and even if you don't like 'The One', corny sounding track with good rappers on it spitting ok > corny sounding track with corny rapper rapping badly.
