Doesn't China basically own the US now?  You know, with all the money we borrowed from them recently.

I think Obama should legalize crack and start selling it in Wall Marts near sweets. That way US economy would be saved.

Doesn't China basically own the US now?  You know, with all the money we borrowed from them recently.

US has always been in debt to another country, since our formation we had to barrow money from another country in order to establish credit, a economic system, government standings etc. America is a world super power who's economic influence is very huge. Though China may not be in debt do to its established unions, and the fact it replaced the US in manufacturing goods.US economy (Despite the dollar weaker then the Euro) still has a huge impact on the world. California's own Economy is that compared to a small country.

America makes money through various means (government wise) by either borrowing, selling weapons to allies (which sometimes burn the bridge and turn on us), selling weapons to both sides in a war, eventually garnering allies with the winning side, various secrets on multiple fronts of government related projects. As for the commercial aspect, US trade is pretty open, but normally the bigger corporations/enties get the final say in dealings.

Overall the American Economy will eventually balance back, if we survived Black Tuesday and the depression in such a early point of our history, then a fully develop world super power shouldn't have any real problems. The recession is already starting to balance back in multiple fronts (We won't feel the affects for awhile though). In the end we normally have to have points of down time in order to keep things balance. This recent fuck up was really something, with the banks, the entire housing fuck up, etc. etc. Honestly I thought we have some reformation, but again since the effects weren't felt that much by the rich, it won't change. With the government bailing out the companies the national debt will be huge.

Only way we can successfully get out of debt, is sadly heavy taxation. If the government were to legalize Marijuana, it would help relieve a lot of the debt. Interesting enough when ever taxation happens, its usually the poor, while rich people who reach a certain bracket point get cuts.Over all the situation is fucked beyond anything. It would take a very intricate plan to fix everything. It would have to result in newer taxes, cut of programs, and developing new ideas into production. Some of these would be temporary, others might have to be longer and some could even just become a staple of society.

remake of american cars...  transportaions...
the thing about America is that they don't know how to build quality products in anything.  Maybe there are some technological stuff...like mac computers and things like.
Gm cars are crap..quality in engines and trans are crap...time to really focus  originallity of needs than wants.
fuck all that bullshit of blackberry and ipod fuckers...they're cool though...yes...but..is it really the need or want?  America is too fuckin' dependant on other countries.

we need good cars that will outdo Hondas, and fuck all that going green shit.  i'm starting to think that public school should no longer be paid by the tax payers...must be private schools...meaning they will pay for their education.
if they can't afford that shit...too fuckin' bad.

Interesting, but bad idea. I would think that with the little money people have as it is, it would be spent on the necessities. And what about the smokers who are on the benefit?

Speaking on taxes, how much tax would they put on marijuana sales if they were to make it legal.

i think we can forget about change as that's supposed to be coming from that dude who is currently driving america into the ground. pretty soon the 'hope' will be running low too. american debt slaves might actually start to get really angry when that happens.

the funny thing is nobody can fix the economy as such, especially not politicians. the old, unviable economy has to be allowed to fall and then an environment created for new investments and business to sprout up in its place. that means less regulation, taxes, etc. allowing this process to happen is really fundamental to capitalism.

what's going on in america right now is pretty much the exact opposite of capitalism. the politicians are digging a hole so damn deep that there's really gonna be no way to avoid complete totalitarianism.

great quote from somebody on another forum (relevant to investing) that i post on:

"This stuff is all hope and propaganda. The fundamental facts are that the Banking System is hiding massive losses which effectively render it insolvent, and the government is so far in debt (and borrowing more each day) that there is no conceivable way for this debt to be paid off.

There will always be blips in any decline or, at least, second derivative "Rate of decline is slowing" periods. Human nature being what it is, people latch onto these datapoints to fool themselves that things will be back to normal soon. The problem is that it's the last decade of borrow-and-spend that was abnormal. A decade of profligacy and misallocation of resources will not be fixed in a few months.

We have been given a brief window of opportunity during this collective delusion of green-shoots to divest ourselves of any assets likely to be impaired by the inevitable resumption of economic decline."
