fuck ya blog homie
i already saw it so i won't give you any hits
but, video doesn't go anywhere. it's flashy but no substance. not dope to me.
rihanna is fine and seeing her in different outfits is nice for my imagination. the verse by ye about buying new cars while sitting in a piece of trash was dope as well but the rest was pointless
plus, i keep laughing when jay goes UGH UGH. you get to see him make that fucking funny grunt
-
whats with that green text in the middle of the video?
wack

Cool.........

this song has grown on me a lot.
i love the Rihanna hook, the beat is so tight; Jay & Kanye come alright, but for a single; i dig it. 8)
video is cool, like the theme they went at.
-
now you made me feel bad.
i hope you're blog is dope, i'll check it out soemtime

damn jayz lyrics are amazing.................................... ::)
wic-wic-wack

Really dont like that song at all...

Haha, come on, when do you ever hear a rapper get lyrical on a hit record? It's all about flow with this kind of track, and Jay shits on the 90% of the other rappers who get hit records when it comes to flow.

hearing rhianna sing makes me want to cut my ears off :loopaper:

Jay had 'hit' records in the past where he was able to spit better than this crap. Lupe Fiasco manages to come with some of the most complex lyrics yet still can produce a hit. Jays just lazy or (even worse) he's lost the ability to produce the genius of his past lyrics. Kanye rapped better than him which really sums it up tbh

Lupe Fiasco's only 'hit' was Superstar, and while Lupe was still on point on that record with his lyrics and flow, the shit was poppy as fuck and obviously dumbed down in comparsion with the deep metaphors of his previous album. I'm not a big fan of the new Jay track myself, but I'm pretty sure it'll be a hit. The only point I was making was that flow is far more important than lyrics on these type of tracks, and Jay spits dope with the flow on "Run This Town", definately better than Kanye. Jay has been dumbing his shit down for years, and I can't recall a lyrical single that he's had since Dead Presidents. And with the unbelievable amount of hate that Reasonable Doubt gets depsite being an incredible lyrical album, I'm not suprised Jay said "fuck those guys" and decided to get money off the mainstream instead.

i dont like this song but video looks nice.. i like the concept.
plus, i keep laughing when jay goes UGH UGH.
same here.. lol
-
Well i could give a fuck about his boring flow tbh. Kanye combines a dope flow and lyrics. Compare this single to the singles from Blueprint even and at least Jay wasn't rhyming the same words and sounding wack whilst doing it.
-
Still don't know what to think about this song. Fact is Jay got outshined by Kanye and I also really dig the beat.

Kanye did kill him on his own shit
as far as the video is concerned it's just corny, seeing his camel face in slomo with fire burning in the back is not hot. Also Rihanna does the same shit in every song it seems
-
Jesus, Kanye moves from nursery rhymes to rhyming two sylablles in the same candence he always uses and people are talking about him "killing" it.
-
Seriously, Kanye is overrated these days. He's never been a decent rapper but lately people act like when he spits he's some god mc. Great song maker, not the best mc.
I don't have a problem with Jay's or Kanye's lyrics because they're about their respective current situations. All Jay's doing is informing the world about roc nation, his independent nature, and bragging. All Ye is doing is speaking on how his career went to a new level.
There's always a better way to do it but this wasn't bad.
-
It's not really that he "killed" it with lyrics, it was in his delivery; he sounded agressive and hungry like a newbie. While Jay way busy doing the "ugh" sound
-
My problem is Ye's voice in general.... it's amateurish sounding.... i love his albums though so it's easy for me to not focus on negative
but I dig tracks like heard'em say when he's on a chill note
-
Fair enough, although personally I don't have a problem with Jay's swagger in his delivery. If anything I think it adds something.
-
hearing rhianna sing makes me want to cut my ears off :loopaper:
She's easily one of the worst singer I've ever ... anyways beat is dope , Rihanna garbage as usual , Jay keeps falling off , well only Kanye is a good surprise ...
Jay needs to stop doing songs with Rihanna and Beyonce ... seriously
-
first off, its AWH. AWH.
good vid.. pac and dre already did the mad max thing tho. still dont think this is single material - least not for jay
-
any word on a second single?
i want another song to get an idea of the album.
-
I don't care, I love this song. Jay's flow is nice, Kanye came with it, and Rihanna's hook grew on me.
Good single. Video is ok, Rihanna is hot.

awh awh
sounds like he's croaking

I've always seen his raps as pretty cheesy with corny punchlines, average delivery, spits with conviction though. Duke knows how to make a hit, but he'll never be one of the best emcees. He does seem to step it up when he's on other peoples shit though. His verse on Dilated Peoples "This Way" was cool, and he out shined Jay on this and also The Clipse on "Kinda Like A Big Deal"
-
I mean he's always been a decent rapper but that's it. Not never.
I respect Ye for admiting at one point he had ghost writers and ghost producers. That he's done doing that and is taking control or he'll either acknowledge contributions. I dig that.
I actually don't care if you have a ghost writer if your shit is hot. Just don't lie about it. Dr.Dre won't get to be one of the hottest mc's but i dig his music anyways .
-
Love this record. Beat is classic. Jay-Z flows his ass off on it. Kanye comes with an incredible verse. Feeling Rihanna hook as well. Plus the video tight as hell.
-
video was kinda boring. For the set and everything i was expecting some dope story line or shots but nah it was boring. Like the song i guess.

do you have some sort of obsession with that word? you seem to use it every time you dig a track ;)
-
Average song, shit choice for a single, the only reason it is a single is because of all the names on it and tbh they probably should of left it as a Rihanna track, videos mad cheesy too
-
The song was boring and I think the director of the video did good job on making at least equally boring music video. Where are the Cristal bottles and million dollar yachts? I give both thumbs down.
-
I feel this song, good flow from HOVA. Don understand all the hate song get!
Remember the first single from the Black album Change clothes feat Pharell , you cant compare that song to Run this town..
When i heard first time change clothes i thought black album will be wack, but it was his best! (My opinion)
