Super-group Slaughterhouse (made up of New Jeresy's Joe Budden, Michigans Royce Da 5'9, New York's Joell Ortiz and California's Crooked I) recently talked about adding a southern emcee to their group. [Slaughterhouse Talks About Adding Southern Emcee - Watch Here] Stating that T.I. and Lil Wayne would be at the top of their list, the group talked about what they thought of a southern emcee joining the team.

"This sh*t is like a strategically built together puzzle," Royce said. "The puzzle could only fit four pieces...There's a lot of n*ggaz from the South that can spit. If I want just straight up lyricism, then it would have to be a T.I. or a Lil Wayne. If I wanted to go based off of Ol' G status, and who I personally like, I would say Bun B. I mean he supports n*ggas. He's been supporting n*ggas since day one. He's a real n*gga, not to say Lil Wayne or T.I. aren't, but like I said, to me, there's just more that goes into just straight up spitting. Yeah Lil Wayne and them n*ggas could spit." FUUUUCK NO!! I'll boycott SH if they add Lil Lame to the group.
Next they'll have wack ass Drumma Boy or DJ Montay producing tracks.

If it was Chamillionaire, Scarface, Z-Ro or Trae, I wouldn't mind, but why fix it if it ain't broke.

End of the discussion...fuck Lil Wayne having some lyricism though, lol.

To me adding somoene that is already an established mainstream act or a veteran in the game kind of fucks up the dynamic. I'd go with someone like a Stat Quo or Six-Two but that's just my taste.

If they add Little Wayne, The group will have reached a new found level of Hypocritical mediocrity. Wasn't the entire point of the original album to be "FUCK THE NORM! FUCK FAKE HIP-HOP" and what they want to do? Add the Lolipop nigga, Who rapes Auto-Tune on every one of his records, or the nigga who tries to be a fake ass Zapp and Roger.

I mean they want to kill off there success before they can really get big. Fuck, they only got there Internet Following, If they add Lil Wayne, They'll Lose that and will be even more fucked until they go the road of "The Firm".

Slaughter House was suppose to be a group of MCs who hated crap rap, actually gave a shit about Lyricism and didn't want to talk about the club shit. So they figure they will add Lil Wayne? lmao

Only way Wayne would be good is if his ass is on the HOOK Like in "My Life" by game, but since he would be a Member he would be rapping...

Honestly I'll boycott this shit, Fuck supporting this shit. God damn Hack Wilson is probably suicidal. Speaking of Which Hack get your fucking ass out here. Your the Slaughter House hound dog, what do you think?

and then this was found
doubt pac would approve of wayne bein anywhere near a hip hop group like this
maybe biggie but not pac, right?

Slaughterhouse's Crooked I recently spoke on his group's overall impact on the rap game and explained why the four-member team represents the late Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.

Crooked also compared his squad's regional formation to Pac attempting a One Nation collaboration project with Duck Down Records prior to his passing.

"I remember when Pac did the One Nation thing," Crooked explained in an interview. "The Thug Nation with Buckshot and the different peoples so you know he was trying to unite both of 'em, both coasts, and actually, Pac and Biggie came up together. So they were already on that mission to unite both coasts. I think they would envision something like this. I was blessed enough to get with these three bros who you know, I'm just glad I'm around guys that can rap better than me, finally. I've been looking for someone who could rap better than me for all my career...To be honest with you, I think this is exactly what Pac and Big would have really wanted minus the media causing controversy." (DJ Semtex)

Royce Da 5'9 previously spoke on his rap group's versatility.

"Slaughterhouse is classic," Royce said in an interview. "It's what you expect from Slaughterhouse and then some. We actually making records. I don't think a lot of people can say that. They're expecting lyrics from the jump. First thing they're gonna want to hear is lyrics. You're going get that front to back. But you're also going to get great songwriting, great song structures, great feel, all the group members show versatility with this album. Everyone just stepped up. I'm really proud of everybody...My dream album is an album that you can combine hip-hop with the streets. It's not too hip-hop. It's not earthy and happy. Then it's street but it's not so, 'Oh my God. I'm gonna kill, kill, kill.' There's still a hip-hop element there." (The Boom Box)

The group's self-titled debut is reportedly en route to sell roughly 25,000 copies in its first week on store shelves.

Country singer George Strait will sell a total close to 150k. Cobra Starship are the next highest debut at 40-45k, fueled by the Top 5 single, "Good Girls Go Bad." Valory country singer/songwriter Justin Moore's self-titled album could do in the 34-37k range, thanks to a hit single on the format, "Small Town USA." E1 (formerly Koch) rap all-star group Slaughterhouse, consisting of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce Da 5'9", should do between 23-25k. (Hits Daily Double)

Crooked I spoke with SOHH earlier this summer about why their music outweighs profits.

"It's in concrete, August 11th," he said. "This is what we need at this time period in hip-hop. This project is what we need. It ain't all about the money. If we doing sh*t for money then I'd probably have a number one ringtone right now. I do it for the love. I do it for the passion. I do it for the art form. That's something that the fans should appreciate even more, the fact that we are willing to sacrifice the money to come and do a group in this economy and it's four of us. It's not for the money man." (SOHH)

It's a pointless thing to even speculate on. Wayne was not around in Pac's day so there's no telling how he would have felt. I personally am not a fan of Wayne but for all we know if Pac was alive today, Wayne might have been one of his favorites. I know it's gonna piss some of you off to think that because "Pac didn't like all that fake-ass shit" but how does anyone know? Everyone seems to be under the impression that if Tupac hadn't died, he'd be the same fucking person he was in 1996 for the rest of his life. He would have changed just like everyone else and even he himself predicted that in his interviews.

He didn't put a gun to two million people's heads and make them buy his records. You can't hang the death of real hip-hop on someone that you don't feel applies to the category in the first place.

Title: Re: Slaughterhouse Talks Adding Southern MC

if they're going Southern, they should add Chamillionaire.

i don't think they should add anybody & i don't think Chamillionaire would fit that well in with them; but if anybody from the South would, it would be him.

plus, Cham is kind of at a point where you're like "what's next"? he is basically standing at a folk in the road & he could go & continue making solo shit, but could easily join the group & contribute.

my thoughts on Wayne, i don't want to see it, but i can't lie; i would want to hear at least one collab with him & see how he brings it; an autotuned verse = never again, but if i hear shades of "Tha Carter I" i don't know how i would feel; hence why i need to hear one collab.

my thoughts on T.I., he would be a good fit but he seems as if he has too much going for him; he has a label (he basically runs), he has people on the label (he has to work with) & he seems like the type that has to be like "the fuckin' man" in the group; doesn't seem like the guy who would sit there & let 4 amazing lyricist run laps around him.

Slaughetrhouse is full of double standards. They're all about "keep it real hip-hop, fuck the current trends..." and then they:

a) Release "The One" as their lead single (which is usually a representation of a project) that sounds the same as any other single out there

b) Want to add Lil Wayne to the group (no explanation needed, I have nothing against the old Wayne but right now he sucks)

I don't think they really need a fifth member, because 4 emcees=4 verses per song=songs are already long enough.  But, that being said, I think if they really wanted to add a southern MC, Stat Quo would fit the group dynamic a lot better than the other names I've heard mentioned.

honestly i just think Wayne is fuckin over rated just like your man Joey...

Wayne is raw i like some of his music but then again sometimes he puts out bullshit like that gay ass rock album

i think after GRODT 50 became like a Fabolous of the game... he gots only a few tight songs on his album that are bumpable and the rest is garbage

But my point simply was that some people on here act like Wayne already had his own Slaugter House tattoo when in the interview is
clearly said that noone will be added. People see/read/hear only what they want which can piss you of sometimes.

You concluded that there's a possibility based on rapper's actions in the past, which is totally legit, that's your opinion. But those fools that read WAYNE and start yelling as if it's a fact are annoying.

If they add Lil Wayne to boost popularity, fuck them, they're selling out and doing the very opposite to the thing they're all about!!! Slaughterhouse is supposed to consist of hard hitting raw MC's, to provide genuine hot product, not some whiney ass monotone wack ass rapper like Wayne lol. If they add anyone wack, I refuse to buy anything else from them ever again

Stating that T.I. and Lil Wayne would be at the top of their list, the group talked about what they thought of a southern emcee joining the team.

FUUUUCK NO!! I'll boycott SH if they add Lil Lame to the group.
Next they'll have wack ass Drumma Boy or DJ Montay producing tracks.

If it was Chamillionaire, Scarface, Z-Ro or Trae, I wouldn't mind, but why fix it if it ain't broke.

what makes you think LIl wayne or TI would waste their time with this group of no namers?

lol @ people defending lil wayne...

The issue here is that Royce just said lil wayne would be at the top of his list for straight lyricism. It takes away from his credibility. Whether they add someone or not (and we know they won't), the fact that he called lil wayne a lyricist makes me seriously question his taste in music. These are the guys supposedly speaking out against the pop bullshit that comes out every year and bringing back real lyricism, yet they are giving props to the fucking king of the pop bullshit?  Name me a pop song worse than Lollipop or Mrs. Officer...seriously, fuck royce for saying that. If they think lil wayne is a real lyricist spitting real shit, then who the fuck are the fake, pop bullshit artists they keep complaining about? I want some names...This is whats wrong with hip hop right now, everyone wants to complain about the bullshit pop music being put out but not one of these rappers have the balls to name names. They'd rather diss a legendary group that isn't popular anymore (Wu) than even say one word against a popular artist. Slaughterhouse...more like Slaughter pussies. They come out with some sick music, but damn grow some balls.

And fuck the people saying lil Wayne was dope back in the day before C3...back then he was in hot boyz...HOT BOYZ!!! A commercial pop group that he wasn't even the best member of. I know a lot of you grew up in the late 90s, and you grew up on that music and thought it was hot, but trust me it was still watered down commercial bullshit. There ain't a damn difference between Bling Bling and the music on the radio now and thats the truth.

okay I'm done.

I could give a fuck about Waynes pop hits. Fact is, he makes dope tracks like "Hustler Muzik" "Shooter" "Pussy Money Weed" "Fly In" and "Dr. Carter". And this is coming from someone who doesn't really bump Waynes shit, the kid can spit...

The carter 3 was more hit than miss and if you add the plenty of quality leaked tracks from the carter 3 sessions it's a really, consistent dope album, arguably modern day classic but since it didn't have the leak tracks it's just a decent album

The problem I have with lil wayne isn't the carter 3 as much as it is everything he's done since then.  he essentially stopped rapping and started this really fucking atrocious "rock" style

LMAO. First time I actually listened to Carter I & II from first track to last and they were dope...and yeah those leaks from III sound pretty good.
He obviously was at his peak on Carter I & II because his earlier and later albums are not that caliber.

i think the carter III could of been his best record TBH. Mannie Fresh and Dr. Dre were BOTH named to be producers on the record and a shitload of dope tracks got leaked way too early which fucked up the album for me at least.

It's a pity he fell off so damn quick, he really coulda been something... I don't see his next album selling nearly as well as Carter 3...

yeah, they seem cool enough with each other where it's going to last.

i don't think sales will ever come between them & i think they each boosted each others careers, giving each other their connects.
