Title: Support the Jerk Movement
Post by: 1234 on August 26, 2009, 04:15:17 AM
you guys complained and complained that LA needed a new sound and like it or not.... jerkin' is that sound. everyone is on it now from all over the world. it's new and it's totally fresh.

these old rappers still living in the 90's need to quit trying to 'bring the west back' with their boring music. jerkin' is a habit...

support it and stop the hate.

WOW..... really???? This is what its come to? 1st grade level entertainment that grown men and matured teens participate in? VERY sad. An adaptation of the Crip Walk into some kind of generic dance form? This and many other things involving the way music has un-evolved is setting our people back thousands of years.

It's not the tightest music, that's for sure, but it doesn't claim to be. It's more about the dancing and the positivity of it. I can't hate on that. I've been getting my gangsta rap on for so many years that the shit is just played out. And it has been for years.

The West can come with something better than jerkin, but for now it's gonna have to do. Any attention that the west can get on a nationwide level is a good thing. Maybe one of our favorite gangsta rappers like Jay Rock, Glasses, or Nipsey can put their twist on it and make it something you can enjoy too.

Didn't Problem or G Malone already make a song to a jerkin beat? I heard one of those shits in the club and the lyrics were grown with a jerkin beat.

screw  the jerking movement . it is all plan by the illuminati to turn black people white . it is not hip hop if you wear tight jeans . hip hop is all about baggy jeans & not looking like a white sell out.

Doubt it, outraged & underaged Tyga and his Coconut Juice was better.

There's already a new west Game, Spider Loc, Nipsey, Jay Rock, Crooked, Malone etc...
Would you call them 90's?
Would you call them boring?

I made the thread that got plenty of hate and some love 4-5 months ago, before it really blew up nationwide.

At this point, I still feel the same way...the music definitely isn't touchin our golden age, but I'm VERY happy to see the youngsters out here lovin somethin that is from here, and making it big without relying on Dre/Snoop/Cube's co-sign like everything else. The teens here don't care as much about the regular radio hits, and they are requestin songs from random local artists, which is unheard of...usually, they don't like it until radio brainwashes em to love it.

I also love the fact that it's not talkin about gangbanging...of course out of towners and those who aren't from L.A. (and maybe never been to L.A.) say they'd rather hear about guns and bangin than "Jerkin" and dancin, but fuck that. The music has always been a reflection of our streets, and in High School, we loved bumpin Eastsidaz, but had to deal with other kids havin that same gangbang mentality and always tryin to start some drama. Kids nowadays aren't trippin as much about bangin, and are more about dancing and havin fun, and the music shows that, even if it's not as good.

They aren't bangin NEARLY as hard as the 2001 Eastsidaz type shit...it's definitely sexually driven on a lotta songs, but it's not much hardcore bangin on any of it like that.

Lol this sounds like stuff from the early 90's.. not the gangsta stuff but some of the shit you'd hear on the dj mixes during rush hour and at night..

Hardly a new sound.. maybe new to kids.
