Title: Jay Z Blueprint 3 Leaks are bumming me out
Post by: Brown Guy on August 27, 2009, 04:59:48 PM: All the shit I have heard after DOA have been ughhhh really letting me down. Is it just me or you guys not loving the leaked songs? ie. DOA/Reminder/Ghetto Techno/Venus VS. Mars

For example, I enjoy Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint (about half the album), Black Album, Kingdom Come, and American Gangster. The rest of his releases don't really vibe with me.

I enjoy these tracks. I don't think they're as good as the albums I listed but I don't think they're as bad as anyone is claiming. All the beats sound hot to me. Jay is spitting some simplistic rhymes but they're all about his reality so I don't hate them as I would a rhyme about him spitting about drugs. I think his subpar material such as this is far superior than 78% of the game right now.

The weakest track to me has been run this town. The strongest DOA. Remainder, Off That, & Mars vs. Venus are dope. I can't complain.

[shit is super overrated], "Run This Town" [Kanye killed him on his own shit; pretty sure Drake wrote Ye's verse], and "Off That" [30 something pt2?]. Not really lookin forward to the album but I will STILL keep an open mind.

plus I do not think he cares about the music anymore , he's just releasing albums to keep his name buzzing in the music industry but he's more a bussinesman than an artist for a while ... if music is not his main focus , obviously it will be wack

I guess they were alright, but definitely not at all what I expected/wanted.

In the mainstream there's not too many (though this is changing) and underground there's quite a bit more.

I give Jay his props because he's "putting on" new cats though some may say he's stealing their shine. I view it as passing the baton...granted his entire process is about increasing profit. Conflict of the interest I suppose but I stay optimistic.
