Not getting it, it doesn't look that much of an improvement to Modern Warfare. I might borrow it but I don't see myself playing it as much as Modern Warfare.

so the big news over the weekend, the PC version of MW2 has removed the dedicated server option, IW.net are now going to be hosting all games for PC users (similar to the xbox live/psn method) in the US. if you're in the US this news isnt as bad, outside of the US.. hah.
basically this is a way for them to start charging PC users for map packs now and cut down the piracy on that side of things

Gonna wait until a price drop before buying like I did with the first one. Like the first one, this seems to be a really well made game, but the "real war" concept isn't all that appealing to me.

Hmmn, so footage leaked from some french guy who got the game early somehow, and apprarently there's new modes in multiplayer featuring third person gameplay (ie Socom) could be good, could be bad, i guess we'll have to wait and see but word is it's only limited to 3 gamemodes (TDM, HC TDM, Cagematch)

there's a section of the game where you see terrorists fire into a bunch of civilians in a circle. in the end, the civilians are all laying on the ground crying, covered in blood, some trying to crawl away etc
in every other country it's gotten an R rating for that scene, in australia we dont have R ratings for games. the highest it goes to is M15+, after that they refuse it classification

That's a spoiler, by the way you actually get to play as an undercover agent who is with terrorist shooting civilians. Infinity Ward gives you the option to skip it, or play through it and you can either shoot or don't.

yeah, you do & kill streaks carry over into the next round.
for example if you got two kills in a row & the round ends, if you get a kill to start the next round, you get a UAV.
people have been telling me the game is off the chains. 8)

Am i the only one who's really dissapointed with this game :-\ i loved the first one but this one just seems like they made it even more scrubby, the maps are real weak, the spawns are even worse somehow, killstreaks are so overpowered and no matter what gametype you play everyone camps (way more than they did on 4)

i've given up on the Nuke, but rumour is you can get a Nuke with the Emergency Airdrop.
i also got two AC-130's & a Chopper Gunner in the same Emergency Airdrop.
unfortunatlely they don't count towards your killstreak, but regardless; i can go +15 all the time. 8)

lol its cool man, you'll get there soon.. if you strugglin you should just take the side approach on anything to do with hardcore, basically just camp up n try to build up your score through your kill streaks..

Wow, I've just had my best session so far. I was on fire compared to the way I usually play. In 4 days, I have managed to up my kill/death ratio by 0.07. I am actually having games where I'm constantly getting a + kill/death ratio, even as high as 25-10 :o. Double wielding sub machine guns are the shit. I am really starting to get to grips with the game now and I think I'm actually addicted. :D Oh and I got nuked for the 2nd time. :(

I get what you're saying and it's true that there never willl be a completely balanced fun to play multiplayer game which nobody complains about but you have to admit that MW2 seriously has balance issues and while this guy over-exaggeratted in that rant what he said was pretty much true, there's no skill level in this game, they just decided to make a game which suits lesser players and is easier to pick up and play so that they could gain sales. Which is fair enough it's Infinity Wards game but when you consider how amazing COD2 was and how great COD4 was, MW2 is like a step backwards
O and btw this game is officially hacked now, on PS3 there's a hack to get to any Prestige you want, while on 360 there's the private match glitch whereby it turns the server into an 18 player game of Rust FFA/ Domination and i just played a game of SnD with infinte ammo, nades, claymores, launchers which was jokes :D but hopefully they patch all of this before it gets out of hand

You're spot on about the balance in MW2. Like someone said in this post or another, NOOBs get slaughtered here. MW2 is a gang of fun, but there's too many perks & killstreaks for my liking.

i actually just read that article "MWII sucks", that kid is actually on point.
everybody in the game uses an Assault Rifle or a Shotgun & i feel that like "skill equality".
i honestly have more fun playing that game when i run around using a Tactical Knife with Marathon, Lightweight & Commando than playing for real.
the only thing that keeps me playing is to outplay my friends in the Nuke department. :P

SMG are pretty much useless, he's definitely right about that. The auto shotties are better than the models, but I don't roll with either so don't take my word for it lol. Most of the sidearms are better than the SMG's. LMG's are wack. My weapons of choice are the SCAR, FAL, and M16. The Scar is probably the one that takes the least skill, but at least it has a short clip so there is balance to that.
I really don't get his 11 killstreak complain, because hardly anybody rolls with Killstreak Rewards of 11-15-25 lol. If someone was on a 10 kill streak, most likely that person would have at least one other kill streak that could have been useful to get the 11th kill.
I do agree that care packages are wack, because sometimes a game is so close that a random deadly killstreak can make or break the game.
And the guy that wrote the article doesn't suck, in fact odds are he will most likely rape us if his over 3.0 K/D ratio claim is true.
This game is much better playing with friends, I don't play this game unless there are at least two buddies of mine online. That's one of the best ways to combat a team that is defensive minded.

I've been using SMGs so I'm comfortable with most of them, only thing is I make sure I reload when half of the bullets are gone, they kinda go out fast. but its all good otherwise.

Yeah, it's the killstreaks. On top of all the upgrades you get when you go up the ranks, you have the killstreaks. UAV's are bad enough.
But this game is still hella fun to play.

I'm really liking Demolition right now. It gets real intense, especially in High Rise. Most of the time I'm usually the one who manages to defuse or set a bomb.

The site above list all the problems with the PC version. The PC version is failed with more fail then anything, if anyone plans on buying it. Buy it for 360 cause the PC version has a multitude of problems from Security Safety (opening ports) breach with simple things (xfire) and breaking terms of ISP in some cases (Which can result in your internet banned). I played it and the SP is amazing, but the MP was crucified. The site also tells of multiple exploits being used, IW's Crappy support system (lol main guy uses twitter and not there own forums), and various other stuff.
In the end The site is basically there mostly for research. So If you're planning on buying it, just look at the various problems the Reviewers seemed to of ignored. Not hating, but doing research can be your benefit. In the End I quit the MP cause of the ISP problem, Port problem and Xfire thing (Which I use reg). It also has funny ass post lol Like Demotivated posters, and even shows IW's own ineptitude.Like how the PC Manuel has a button for "Console" despite the fact its lock'd and people were VAC banned for using it. Same thing with the Server Files. It also has post going into the Config showing how some of it was Copy and past from COD4, Various things that show it was a Console Port (360 to be more exact given the fact the 360 error literally had it listed.
Funny thing is I'm not surprised, F.E.A.R. 2 suffered the exact same way. F.E.A.R.2 had Server File support, a ban system, and IP logging, yet in the end it had no Useable ban system, no Files released, and No Anti-Cheat.
Considering I was a bigger fan of F.E.A.R. Franchise, Idk how I can rate IWs fail to Monoliths.
Site also talks about various controversial things related 2 it and inaccuracies.
but yeah, SP wise it was very good and the MP is also very fun, but with the way IW Net is set up its really Hackable and poses a Security risk to PC gamers.

If you use a UMP with Pred/ Harrier/ Chopper Gunner you'll easily beat your killstreak, with a chopper gunner you can easily get 15 kills+, you've just gotta hope it doesnt get shot down

Tough to make such a claim, but MW2 HAS to go down as one of the best games of all time, especially considering just how many copies have been sold. I honestly don't know one guy who has either an Xbox or PS3 and DOESNT have this game and play on it regularly.

I was surprised how useful the Spas-12 shotgun could be. Real useful for me when there is people around corners. I have it with the extended mags and grip, using Bling Pro. I also like the ACR assault rifle, I just hate how it doesn't have a lot of ammo.

yo if you havin trouble with ammo, try using the scavenger perk if u havent used it cos once you get the "scavenger pro" your automatically given extra mags.. so with an acr u start off with 180 bullets not 60.. + i liked the spas shotgun when i first started off playing it, but im more into my silenced machine pistols..

yeah imo scavenger is probably the most handiest perk on the whole game... aslong as you walk over the blue bags droped by dead players you'll constanstly re'supply yourself with ammo/nades/knifes/semtec's/claymore/rifle granades etc..

yo just so you know, the M9 pistol is pretty glitched... when you have the tactical knife equiped the gun aims towards the upper right and also if you have a silencer on it you still show up on the map lol.
unlucky bout the nuke tho, you'll get it sooner or later!

oh shit for real? i did notice it shot a bit weird when I used it with the last stand perk. i would use the 44 magnum, but its accuracy is kinda bad.

^you should just use a Machine Pistol; those are like having SMG's as your sidearms.

More people need to roll with UAV's. Too many sorry ass players are rolling with the high kill streaks that they hardly get them and fuck up the team's chances of winning.
My win ratio is 2.06, and I think that's mainly because I roll with UAV-Harrier-Pave Low yeah I used to roll with 5-7-11 or 5-7-9, 7-11-25 and all the other high combination but I enjoy winning more than my kill streak. So the 3-7-9 kill streak keeps me active in the game while my pave low gets kills. I don't have the best ratio, 1.78, but I definitely do help out my team a lot.

yeah totally agree. i notice this alot when im playing on my own, like ive played 3/4 TDM games back 2 back without seeing one UAV. Im always changing my Killstreak set ups depending on how im playing, if im having a good day ill bang out the higher shit like Stealth, Chopper Gunner, Nuke but then on days where im strugglin ill drop down to 3/5/7..
Either way im usually finishing up with at least 3/1 KD..

Drops on Xbox 360 first on the 30th of March then PC/Ps3 later BUT it costs 1200 Microsoft points ($14.99) which is FUCKING ridiculous, looks like i'll pass on that. BF:BC2 shits all over this game anyways 8)

looks good, im just personally disappointed with the inclusion of "overgrown" as i never liked that map in Cod 4.. Vacant or Pipeline would have been better imo.

That was probably my least favourite map from COD4. Would of liked either Bog, Crossfire or Showdown myself.

Might be a stupid idea but I paid Sony and got a refurbished one as I still wanted a 60gb. Alot of money but I'm sure I'll get enough use out of it to make it worth it.
