so crooked just took the next episode beat after dre left? and warren g probably really produced this, its practically the same beat as "runnin wit no breaks"

Damn that J.Flexx track sounds tight. Soopafly's "Ain't No Trippin" is just renamed, it's a track called "Who's World Is This".

Crooked I with Dre sounds dope, but I can't lie, I was expectin' something that was never heard with Crooked on.

Ya but look at like this, there's a chance we will never heard next episode in cd quality, because of Dre. WA was obviously aware of this, and found us something where we can at least hear that beat in cdq. I think all fans will be pleased when they hear this.

I was on the fence about purchasing this because of the price tag and the mixing issues with the previous releases, but after hearing the snippets, I'm sold. I have only listened on my macbook pro speakers, but I couldnt hear any major issues with the mixing on any of the tracks. Could change once I get on the desktop, but so far so good in that department. If you exclude the "greatest hits" tracks, this release reminds me of like a gang related or chronic 2000 type compilation. It's got a nice mix of rap and r&b and pretty much all the songs are smooth, and banging. That classic Death Row shit.

I think Daz had something to do with Crooked I using this beat. It was done when he was on "Dogg Pound Recordz."

Hmm...

I guess Crooked recycled lyrics or this is a remixed acapella. I know that verse though on that "Real Thugs" joint.

J-Flexx Sticky Situations def dounds like a Sneed production

Crooked I over Next Episode OG is suprising, but at least the musical portion of one of the most anticipated unreleased Death Row cuts will finally see the light of day! Didn't someone say there were 3 songs with Crooked I over Dre production?  If this is one of them, chances are the other two are Dre leftovers as well.  Hoe Hopper possibly?

Crooked has been known to recycle some verses that he uses as "freestyles" tho. Not trying to take away from him at all, but you guys know what I'm talking about. This wasn't an acapella mixed with the next episode og beat tho, this was crook spittin to that beat.

that beat from real thugs is the nearly identical to define yourself (prod by d.r. period)from cormegas new album apart from the syntesiser on it

an the beat from do it again sounds a bit like the song from bone thugs with the same name (tight song b
tw)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8NpFQoSpR8

theres not as much originalty in hip hop producing as you'd think

ps and i know that the death row verisons were produced first

I see. Also I've heard that Lady of Rage verse somewhere else as well. Why would they release Who's World is this on this album? That track was officially released on some soundtrack.
That was then, this is now sounds like an alternate version. The one we all have has not got Big Pimpin on doing this thing. Also that does sound like 2Pac on that DPG song. That OFTB track called Ain't Got No time sounds good.
Wasn't that Crooked I track Do It Again on the SHTTBG that was going on Ebay??

so you think its just a coincidence that both dre and warren g  both produced a song with not only the same sample, but the same fucking drum loop to? Dre was known for jacking beats back then, Warren probably produced the record for snoops album, and then took back for his own album after realising the song wasnt gonna end up on Doggystyle

daz didnt take it from danny boy, ... daz sampled it from a song by an rnb/soul group from the early 80's called "the deele" , and the name of the song is "just my luck".

the deele is the group which babyface & L.A. reid started out with, who then later both left the group to start their own production company producing 80's hits like "rock steady" by the whispers, and "roses are red" by the mac band, and then later on they started their own rnb record label called "laface records".

anyways, here's the original song in which daz and danny boy sampled their songs from:

im not tryna be a prick but just bcuz it's DeathRow doesn't mean shit.  this move should've been made in 03'/04' when ppl still gave a fuck.  im not tryna sound like whatever but DR was better off dealing with i-tunes instead of CDs

wow I thought Gangsta Swang is the best LBC Crew song I've heard.I stand corrected - 6 Shooter sounds  :o

Yeah, it's a great song, good to see it's finally bein released in CDQ. Big C-Style should really try to get the rights to the LBC Crew album from WideAwake.

Damn that J.Flexx track sounds tight. Soopafly's "Ain't No Trippin" is just renamed, it's a track called "Who's World Is This".

it`s actually called "Who's World" and was on the "One Day" OST

i wonder if wideawake really don't know that this 2 soopafly tracks are already released, this is really annoying

To be honest, most of the time - they'll take like DATs and scatter them out through different compilations. They don't know the catalog very well, sadly.

I.E. - Would U Ride and Everybody Needs To Slow Down are on the same DAT and Fifty Sacc and Ain't No Trippin' are on the same DAT.

^^ no i know that homie about the samplign shit. but come on. its a bit obvious he has this trak and used the beat rather than him saying hes done with the old shit etc.

Yeah I hate when an artist steals a song from another artist and someone steps in with the sample and says "no he just sampled it from this artist". Daz stole it, admit it.

why is sampling=stealing?
every song on the chronic was sampled so yall say it was all "stolen"?
"stolen" would be right word to what dr.dre did to warren g, colin wolfe, j-flexx, sam sneed, daz, chris the glove taylor and many more..now thats stealing.

some of the guys who thinks sampling is stealing dont understand the way of hip hop.. most of the hip hop producer cannot play like those white guys an instrument. so sampling was the only way to get some harmony in music. thats hip hop! if you dont like it then go and listen to techno.

^ man LISTEN.

We understand how sampling works. But its clear that Daz just stole that unreleased Danny Boy song. Stop with the bullshit.

What's garbage about it? Koch forced WideAwake to make a greatest hits disc and to sprinkle in those 6 or 7 released tracks on the unreleased discs. I think WA did a pretty damn good job picking tracks if you look strictly at the unreleased songs. They all sounded pretty dope to me, but to each his own I guess.

And what do you mean by "we know y Suge didn't put this out"? This wasn't some box set they had planned before Death Row was taken away from Suge. They threw this together a couple months ago.

He's saying they are releasing scraps. The unreleased material for the most part is overhyped.

yeah thats what i mean...scraps. we were waiting for years to hear some amazing mind blowing unreleased deathrow tracks.

That Lost Sessions was terrible. there were beats we already heard over recycled verses we already heard. At least dead man walking had truely unheard tracks( except for the Me and my Dogs). And even though all werent hot, there were still some classics like Head Doctor etc. and there was a flow to the album. the samples from Colors held the random tracks together.

These tracks on the box set are average. seriously. nothing like the heat we expected. some tracks are just too dated. just random tracks dumped together as if they a bootleg. You cant tell me that u not dissapointed by the DPG tracks.

They should rather hit us with the Eastwood/Crooked/Petey...i guess they know that if they do they are gonna need to market. The truth is that WideAWAKE could care less about the legacy. They just trying to recoup the 18mill they spent on the vault as cheaply as possible. Hate on Suge, but he cared about the legacy. thats y he never release these tracks.

Yeah I really have no interest in this shit. Now what I was hoping for tonight at all. When they said they were doing boxsets I thought they meant sets of unreleased albums boxed together. This shit is just another greatest hits album followed by random tracks thrown together. Give me the fuckin Crooked I material and then I could care less what they do.

I want the completed "Untouchable" album and them to put together an as close to accurate as possible "Say Hi To The Bad Guy".

Considering they already put "Do It Again" on the box set, they already used a good song from SHTTBG.

Yeah.  Also, the first verse is dedicated to Eazy-E.  Tight track.
