-
not even bothering with this

ok quick skip through this album gets a big thumbs down.
nothing against timbaland's production, but the musical direction is pretty wack to me. the intro and track with justin are great, then it goes way way downhill :loopaper:

damn for real ? I cant check this out... we're at the end of the month and my bandwith is close to the limit lol ... I thought Shock Value 1 was pretty tight. he had many joints i liked on there...so this album is nowhere near that ?

shock value 1 wasn't all that amazing on the whole but the best tracks really made it shine. if you like the more laid back rock/teeny pop stuff timbaland has been doing then this might hit a few chords. if not :loopaper:

the intro beat is misleading but dope 8)
-
:-X :'(
-
:-X :'(
that bad ? damn... :(
-
After first listen, there's 6-8 dope tracks, and some that might grow on me.. not too shabby. 8)
Miley Cyrus should not be allowed in a studio. :-X
And LoL @ removing Chris Brown from track 16.. probably because of the Rihanna situation, or maybe he's coming out with an album.
-
I dig the Drake track when it was as reference but when Timbaland laid down his vocals it took an L. Disappointed because I really enjoyed the last release. He's going to become stale if he doesn't switch it up
-
The album has a few decent joints but this just feels forced
-
lack of

agreed
-
Chad Kroeger!?!?
It's a cool record overall. It was what I expected it to be. It's a cool record for the time, but in 5 years this is gonna sound like shit. Just lots of radio songs. He's like our generations David Foster lol.
-
he shoulda given Jay-Z the beat for the final track. coulda been a hit.
-
i think its pretty dope album, fav track after 1st listen > 6. Tommorow In The Bottle
-
okay gave it a couple spins
Intro
Meet Me In The Middle
Can You Feel It
Timothy Where You Been
Symphony
Crazy Girl
are cool tracks. the rest are ehh.
-
niice to see Esthero On there!
-
Not as bad as expected. As always with Timbaland the sound is very clean and sharp with quality mixing. Album got a nice little vibe to it but obviously not as good as the things they did with Danja but hey, at least he has a new sound and not recycling the vol. 1 sound. Could've done without some corny guests though and more hip-hop tracks.
-
this album is very similar to Shock Value 1, if you were a fan of the first one you will like this (it is less hip hop though)
album isn't bad
-
Never heard a Timbo album but cottamn there's a Miley Cyrus feature on it, or is it a joke?
-
this album is all kinds of boo boo. The beats are cool but the songs are way too poppy. Bad poppy.
-
Listening now.. Not impressed so far....
-
Man, leave it to Drake to ruin the mood... =/ Next song please.. We know you successful, asshole.
-
The production is beginning to outweigh the song ideas... Let's see if it holds up..
-
Sub-par party tracks.... That's all that my mind is suggesting at this point... C'mon Timbo I know u got writers...
-
"ease off the liquor, when i'm bumpin u off the richter"...... genius man... what a hit.... =/
-
"ease off the liquor, when i'm bumpin u off the richter"...... genius man... what a hit.... =/
That song bumps!
-
A nice acoustic guitar driven slowjam.. And we "Timothy" is bragging about all of his accolades and wealth.... Fuck off..
-
"ease off the liquor, when i'm bumpin u off the richter"...... genius man... what a hit.... =/
That song bumps!
lol?? it's mad corny...
-
A definite conclusion: Non-urban artists working with Timbo = Smoove formula.
-
lol, I started skpping tracks on the last song. So I guess that was an okay album length.
Ok, I didn't look at any of the features, so the names didn't hype the tracks up for me. And honesty none of the females stood out. Keri Hilson sounded whack as hell. The rap features were good aweful, not surprised to see Attitude and DOE the in-house leechers have some less than inspiring verses on here..
The beats are decent, above par for for a standard album. The real thing goin on here is lack of lyrical content. Some of the concepts are just so played out, which could work if done right, but for the most part they are written horribly and the melodies are just too conforming...
3/5, which is below expectations for this kind of release.
See ya in the AK thread.
-
i hope the homie Timbo (DMV STAND UP!!) goes back and does a hardcore hip hop record. i know Tim ain't no gangsta rapper or ever has been but this Euro-pop shit is kinda wack. homie could get some nice MC's on his records 4 once. i mean i get tha audience he's goin' 4 but damn, gimme some hip hop

This album suffered from lackluster production and poor artistic decisions compared to the first one. It feels like a demo version of Shock Value rather than Shock Value 2. The auto-tune was indeed shocking as my ears were suffering everytime Timbaland used it. The Drake reference track for Say Something was superior. It all felt like a forced effort to get radioplay through the usage of autotune.
I think his album with Chris Cornell was a commerical disappointment (and while feeling like futuresexlovesounds part 2) it was a step in the right direciton.
timbaldans osund is gettings played out
-
he should have used chris cornells album as an example of what i wanted to hear from him... that album was a banger.... and i luv it when he switches up the beat at the end and then flows into the next track.... he should do an album like that with the majors in r&b like alicia keys, mjb, and mariah....i would luv to hear an album like that.... and an underground rap album.... ppl who would rip his beats apart..... krayzie bone did some awesome shit with timba tracks... check out his fixtapes....
-
Will be copping this tomorrow when it drops. I've only heard "Morning After Dark" and a snippet of "Say Something". Sounds aight but I miss Timbaland & Danja on the boards.

After one listen, these two are the only good (decent) tracks
