This man isn't lying. Event was incredible. Snoop came out first with Kurupt. Travis was on drums, Terrace on sax, and Soopafly on the keys. Snoop asked the crowd how many people in the house had love for Nate Dogg. The place erupted, so he brought out Butch Cassidy and Warren G and the four of them rocked "Ain't No Fun."
Next up, he said that he had a homie from Compton in the house. Quik came out and Snoop and Kurupt generally played hype-men as Quik launched into "Tonite." A lot of love on the stage at that point.
No sooner had Quik left the stage that Snoop said that he had some other homies coming through. Out of nowhere, Pharrell appears and they immediate bound into "Beautiful." "Signs" and "Drop It Like Its Hot" follow, at which point I spot Game at the side of the stage. Snoop introduces his "other homie from Compton," who comes out and rocks a sick freestyle version of "Dope Boys" with Travis Barker providing the percussion. Game alters his lyrics to reference Snoop and Malice N Wonderland, and it's sick.
As Game finishes up a similarly freestyled version of "Big Money," Mike Epps appears on stage to deliver his own interpretation. It goes something to the effect of "I like big girls..." Was pretty damn funny!
This may not be in order, but at some point amidst all this madness Nipsey Hussle and Problem show up on stage. I thought they were gonna go right into "Upside Down," but instead Snoop officiates a sort-of stage cypher between Kurupt, Game, Nipsey and Problem.
As the evening winded up, EVERYONE was on stage together. Lucc and Damani were two other people that just seemed to pop up, and even one of the guys from Black Eyed Peas was on stage rocking out. Snoop closed the set with a rousing rendition of "Who Am I?" Maybe I was too high off of just being there, but it truly felt like a historic West Coast moment. I'll never forget being right next to Kurupt, and him just sporting the biggest smile - and with good reason.
Aside from those people mentioned, I spotted Battlecat, B-Real, Krondon, Taje, Mykestro, QD3 and a few others in the house. Unforgettable night.
