thought this deserved a thread of its own. shit sounded pretty epic/banging whatever it was. those choir type sounds that we already learnt would be a part of the whole detox production atmosphere, but a heavy bounce/thump too 8)

I wish more than anything that Dre would put a real release date and street single out . I think that is banging production on this clip , but but Slim is the least of my interests .

Y'all is laughing but you won't be when it drops. Jimmy Iovine and his bosses (the shareholders) wants their fucking money from the past 5 years. The lack of Eminem and 50's declining sales has them wanting Dre to revitalise the brand. Besides it's been a long time coming from Dre but it's clear he's been at work in the past two years; he's going through the motions of setting out the plans for Detox. First, there's the liquor; then the headphones; and next it the computer. You think Detox is going to just be a cd with a bunch of guest features? It's a movement. One to make lots of fucking money and give people exactly what they want without feeling bad for spending on it.

There is actually a video clip where slim da mobsta talk about being in a studio "Detoxin" and he plays that beat! Which is probably where they got this from! Just go to the thread that says "any news on the slim da mobsta mixtape" or some shit like that! And some dude posted the link! I would do it myself but i dont know how! HAHAHAHA! But that shit sound banging!!

No, I don't understand. Perhaps you are slightly butt hurt that I pointed out that you are in fact the purest definition of a hater. That is to clarify, someone that will hate on something just to try and be different that others in a desperate attempt to gain some type of attention. Well, you succeeded, I fell for the trap and mentioned it. Well done.:)

I don't consider myself someone with a great ear, but if I had to guess, this beat sounds like a Dre beat. There isn't one feature of it making me say that, but it just feels more Dre than anyone else in his camp. However, I could see this as being a Dready beat, so I wouldn't get my hopes up totally.
On that note, hopefully there will be some Dready on Detox.
Also, I saw someone mention that Detox is going to be a 'movement'. I think they hit the nail square on the head. Interscope needs money with 50 failing and that whole fiasco, so I would completely expect them to string Detox out as much as possible, being that it is the most anticipated Hip-Hop album of all time. That means even more merchandise, singles released months ahead of the album for buildup, hoopla, other stuff I can't even think of right now... point is the buildup is going to be huge, and side projects/ventures will probably come out of it.

Also in another thread I heard someone briefly mention that Dre wants this to be the first album recorded in Dolby 5.1 or something of that nature. Does anyone have any more info on this? Is this an audio format that would transfer poorly from CD to computer, hence the whole headphones/laptop thing attempting to get music sounding right on the computer?

a 5.1 album can't be released on cd... it's gotta be sacd, dvd-audio or dvd/blu-ray... Cd's only support stereo.

ideally detox (if ever released) will be provided in 'HD' digital FLAC format, either downloadable or as a extra data disc @ 24bit - 96khz, higher than cd quality. alternatively in a multi-channel format.

then he should just go balls to the wall, release it on blu-ray in literally the highest quality audio format known to mankind (even if this means the retail price is like $40), and put a little sticker on the front of the album saying that it should only be listened to on a blu ray player with beats by Dre connected to said player, lights dim, no distractions in the room.
