lol never donate, cause normally only 10cents of every dollar is send in. So you're basically giving it 2 people who are pretending 2 give a shit. Government Relief despite its epic fails is only way they can get any legit help. Even if its crappy. Charity never reaches the people.

Word, don't donate a penny, at least through companies here.
The powers that be run a lot of shop through these non-profit organizations. Great for laundering and a great way to steal from those donating.

On a side note...
Ive set up a "Haiti Relief Fund" of my own. I will be taking cash donations...as well as paypal. All of the proceeds will go to disaster relief in Haiti.........I promise.......

Donating is great. But its not a poor excuse to not donate because you question if your money will make to the people who need it....or simply into some jackasses hands who is just getting more wealthy. Im all for helping others when I can...but I do wanna make sure Im HELPING. Otherwise, me throwing 5$ in some can and not giving a shit where it ends up....means Im doing it just to make myself feel better.

Yeah but saying that money won't go to Haiti is off suspicion, there is no concrete evidence saying only like 10% of the money will reach Haiti. Yeah I do agreee some people might tax off some money for themselves, but regardless the seriousness of this issue should be taken into account. 1/3 of the Haiti population has been affected by this. If CA was like Haiti it'd be like LA County suffering an earthquake and turning the entire county to ruins. People are feeding of this ignorance as a legitimate reason to not donate

I'm not asking you to go on a payment plan man, how often do natural disasters that kill 200,000 people happen within the year? You're argument stems from the idea that your money will not even reaching Haiti, but thing is that you really don't even know that. I really don't care if you donate or not, I just don't think it's right to slander up the efforts that people are trying to make for helping others.

The money isn't going to the Haitian government, dog 1/3 of the population is struggling to stay alive I can't even imagine there being a government.

The Haitian government is corrupt but it's not their people running the relief efforts, it's non-profit organizations like UNICEF and the Red Cross maybe you should research who's dealing with the money before you make assumptions like these that affect your decisions to donate and shit- This was directed at Wykid my bad muhfukka
Anyways regarding your response I meant struggling as in struggling to stay alive. We're not talking about a poor economy we're talking about a disastrous event that has caused massive famine and desperation.

I read in The Times the other day that 80% of the Haitian population live on less than £1 (about $1.50 maybe) a day. Mindblowing really compared to life here in the UK and over your place in the US.

I donated through islamic relief, they dont take no costs away, and everything reaches the people in need, but some people set up scams. Fuck those who keep for themselves.

I donated 250 bucks for Hurricane Katrina victims when I couldn't even afford it then found out that the Red Cross is shady on top of that the tourist attractions being built before the residence. Fuck that....I didn't give that money for tourist to go site seeing so I'm cool on donating unless I can put the money directly in a person's hand.

I don't know much about other charities, but I know Rotary is a good one to donate to. They have very few paid employees (only at head office). When you donate through Rotary, 100% of your money (sometimes more) goes to where you want it.
And rotary doesn't just throw money at problems, they'll gather supplies and send that.
