So last night I decided to stop by IHOP and order some food for takeout for me and this girl. I ordered two dinners cus I had a buy 1 get 1 free coupon. I get to her house, and they fucked up her order (the girl taking the order didnt speak english very well). Her dinner was wrong. So they told me to come back and theyd give me the right thing, but I could keep hers aswell. I go back, and they say theyre sorry....so they give me two desserts for free. They bring out her dinner...and due to the fact that the cook didnt speak english, he accidentally made two dinners. So i get both of those for free. Ultimately...4 dinners and 2 desserts for the price of one dinner! Thats wussup.
And they say we should seal off the border... :nawty:

I dunno man. First off...an employer doesnt have to hire someone if they dont speak English. The law protects employers in that case. You cant discriminate based on race...but you can decide not to hire someone if they dont speak English, particularly if they are in customer service. A lot of employers chose to hire immigrants...cus....fact of the matter is, they typically work harder...and for less then Americans. All Americans? No. But on the average...yes. Its just funny how people tend to direct their anger at the wrong people. If youre upset about people coming to this country and getting hired without speaking perfect english...dont get mad at them (they are just looking for a better life, and better opportunities), get mad at the employers who hire them. I think youre a little confused man, as to whats goin on with a lot of immigrants. Americans are the ones raping the system more then anything. Believe me, Ive grown up down here and some of my closest homies growin up were illegal. They were raised here since early grade school and as American as you or me. All them and their families did was work. More law abiding then ANY of my American homeboys. None of em getting free anything. Our government is powerful enough and smart enough to keep all illegals out of the country if they wanted to. Now as yourself...if they are capable of keeping them out...and have the resources to do so...but simply dont....then why?

And there were people here far before English was...so we should be speaking their language? I still dont see how they make you learn their language. The bottom line is, right now a majority of the country speaks English. If you come here and dont speak it, you take a risk. The risk is on them. If I go to Mexico and dont speak Spanish, Im not forcing them to learn English...Im just taking the risk of not being able to communicate with people.

You can't look at it as just the number of people who abuse the system, you have to take it as a percentage of the whole. In which case, 100% of illegal immigrants abuse the system, because legally they have no right to the system, otherwise they wouldn't be called ILLEGAL.

What Im sayin is...this countries original language was not English. It became English after the conquering of the Native Americans. Why havent we been speaking some Native American language this whole time. I mean, according to your logic....they were here first. If we rationalize English as our countries first language because most people here speak English...and because the land was taken from the Native Americans by English speakers....then we should also expect that when Spanish becomes the most spoken language in the US...all of us non Spanish speaking people should need to speak Spanish and not English.

I think our government is far more incompetent than people think. I think far too many people believe the government is a savior and looking out for your well being. Regardless of this back and forth. My point still remains. Whether its due to incompetency or not...if Illegals are an issue for people, its the government to blame. Not the people. People in general will always seek out a better life for themselves. If America was a shithole...and Mexico was full of jobs, etc...Americans would be rushing accross the border. Whether the government allows illegals in on purpose (my belief) or whether its simply due to incompetency...its still our governments responsibility. Be mad at them.

Well I was never blaming the people themselves. I do blame the government. I also blame the employers who hire the illegals. You are right, these people are going to try and better their lives, and American's would do the same thing. And most of the time these illegal immigrants are very hard workers and do many jobs that many American's wouldn't do, but that is not to say there are no American's to fill those jobs, because there are. I don't blame the people, I do blame the government. And not just the US government, but also the Mexican government.
