We did NOT leak this song.

If you hear Boss Board tags in it, those are not ours.

This track is not authorized to leak.

What's supposed to be special about this track?

Might as well post it, the cat's out of the bag.. or this will turn into a hook-up request thread.

well in that case, all props go out to my dude G.O.D. Pt. III

Can we keep this to PM's man? No offense, but I don't want another pointless beef between Crooked I and Snoop happening again. Plus, whoever leaked this did it to cause trouble.

Correct, the same source for Kurupt's Row Rider, Above The Law, etc. It was multiple dudes, but one source. Anyways, I just thought it was funny that they tagged it up with BossBoard. By the way, Mr. Bundy, who was the original poster of the song on here?

IMO if crooked is payin you (or is for that matter)....you should be happy that this has leaked so people can stay interested in the person thats payin (or isnt) you cuz he wont be releasin anythin for a minute
if snoops goin to do anythin to crooked best belee its goin to happen and stoppin a diss from leakin wont stop anyone, let alone snoop from makin that move...thats jus me tho

I'm upset because the song is property of Wide Awake Entertainment and leaked illegally using my website's name. This track was not supposed to surface, especially after Crooked I and Snoop Dogg settled their differences several months back.

I have already been in contact with the person who posted it on our site and they did it to intentionally discredit my site's name as well as Crooked I's.

It's a matter of being professional. The Boss Board doesn't leak records and we don't condone it.

I'll put it this way, Dubcnn wouldn't want a song that wasn't supposed to be circulating the Internet to be tagged with their tags. It's the same situation.

This is a bad look for The Boss Board considering our website is tagged throughout the song. This is not the publicity that we need right now.

cus say in this case....its out there so now it cant be undone (go back into time to not leak it) youve already said you didnt do it, but like i said this is good for crooked cuz its another piece of the puzzle that everyone wants to hear
and thats interestin to know that the song was property of wideawake
were they goin to release this anyway?
and im not sayin anyone should be unprofessional and you havent been so thats why IMO your not in the wrong here

Publicity is great for Crooked, but this is negative publicity. I know I didn't leak it, but other sites don't know that I don't like being associated with the bootlegging community as I've gone out of my way throughout the years to prevent leaks such as this.

I am not upset with fans, how could I be? I'm a huge fan. I'm just upset that the guy who leaked it caused unnecessary stress that I would have otherwise not had to deal with today.

but im still not gettin it
i mean cant you jus send a e-mail out to any site that has the song....ay this aint me end of?
that should be it right, if they cant trust you with what your sayin then how can they trust you with anyone else?
so if they trust you with other stuff, then this shouldnt be any different..you dont seem like a duke to mess around or play around
thats why im wonderin why your all worked up about it beyond the fact of youve done what you could, i guess now enjoy more pub toward the artist your promotin
and like i said will only help you
and im not tryna say what they did was good, but at the same time now that its done, it can only help IMO
and whats the deal wit wideawake ownin this song anyway?
what were they goin to do wit it?

nah aite i understand what your sayin but as long as you state that you didnt do it, shouldnt that be good enough
cus say in this case....its out there so now it cant be undone (go back into time to not leak it) youve already said you didnt do it, but like i said this is good for crooked cuz its another piece of the puzzle that everyone wants to hear
and thats interestin to know that the song was property of wideawake
were they goin to release this anyway?
and im not sayin anyone should be unprofessional and you havent been so thats why IMO your not in the wrong here

effex since you know you didnt do it, why are you mad about anythin to do wit this?

I have already been in contact with the person who posted it on our site and they did it to intentionally discredit my sites name as well as Crooked I's.

It's a matter of being professional. The Boss Board doesn't leak records and we don't condone it.

I understand your point.

LOL...

I have been contacting sites, saying please don't associate me with this song (or remove it, which most won't). That's my point though, that's just something that I'd rather not have to do, especially on a Friday night. lol

As far as Wide Awake goes, this is part of their catalog when they bought the Death Row masters. I don't think they had plans to release it, but it's still their property.

I can understand EFFeX's dilema. It makes it look like his board is behind the leak and it just looks bad for them because it stands to create BS. It would be like if someone posted a fake interview with Crook dissing a bunch of artists and websites started running it as real.

once it leaked with the 'fake' tags, i would have leaked an untagged version and sent it to all the main hiphop sites and posted it on boards ... then your tagged version wouldn't have been listened too... still a VERY low act trying to set up a site like that.

Cool track, i can see why Crook didnt want it released, but woulda been an effective diss when it was recorded.
Said some pretty unforgiveable shit(from snoops perspective) on there but considering the circumstances and how long ago it was recorded you wouldnt think it would be that bigga deal.

I can't get over how many people are crying over this leak, acting as if they are holy honest and law-abiding internet surfers. They'd be the first to download the latest 2Pac leaks in a second.

Effex should be the only one bothered about this. People are too overly concerned about his "friendship" with Snoop  ::) :-X

I personally couldn't give a shyt if they fell out tomorrow. (which they wont) Crooked made a name, fanbase, released songs, mixtapes, slaughterhouse etc. all without Snoop, and even being 'cool' with Snoop has done zilch for him. Where was Crook on Malice? Where is he on more malice? Crooked I doesn't need a Soulja Boy collaborating sell out, who's watered down into girly bubble gum pop like a Snoop Dogg to make his career take off

IF anything this can only be a thing good. It'll spark controversy through out the net and give Crooked a lot of exposure, and once Crook explains that it's a very very old diss back to when Snoop was dissing Death Row, they'll both be cool about it, and it may drive towards them being pushed to do a collaboration to prove their sincerity, and to die down the negative flames of the diss, because Snoop is not innocent in this either, but both are grown men

I thought you guys don't allow leaks to songs that aren't authorized by the artist?

They don't if you're name is Snoop Dogg or are in anyway affiliated with him. If you know this forum's history, this forum is pretty much the unofficial Snoop Dogg forum. If you're not associated with Snoop Dogg, then its ok to leak unheard material

But it's well documented that 2Pac was against bootlegs. Even early on, the video of him going off on one because some Asian guy with a stall had a bootleg 2Pac tape, and he erupted demanding he take all his tapes off the stall before he trash it.

The point is, forum members will gladly download the latest 2Pac leaks despite his opposed attitude towards it, but whine about Crooked I leaks? Why? The Death Row tracks, and leaks are what built his fan base in the first place. He shouldn't be too critical on the whole idea of his earlier work hitting the public ear. Ask any Crooked I fan what they would prefer to hear. BOSS or the untouchable album, and the majority would say the Untouchable album, or Death Row equivalent

3.but real talk everyone wants new material but theyd take this semi dope diss over anythin gucci, jim jones, banks, juelz, wayne, papap diddy, rick etc....cuz they are all wack....even game recently isnt doin anythin dope

so of course people gon go crazy about a diss thats goin at snoop....member this was from then, so if this would have leaked back then it prolly would have helped crooked more back than now, but its still gon help crooked now, cuz lyrically he went in on snoop on a aite beat

Ask any Crooked I fan what they would prefer to hear. BOSS or the untouchable album, and the majority would say the Untouchable album, or Death Row equivalent

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

And why's that?

I just think that more people would rather hear newer material from him. I might be wrong.

nope not wrong. Crooked I has come along way from the days of Death Row. He was tight then, but is a better artist now. But everyone will have their own opinions ...

This forum amazes me sometimes. You niggas sit around crying for unreleased Crooked I  material from the DR era then everytime we get some you start saying it shouldn't have been leaked. Make up your fuckin minds.

this is so true.  like when FTP put that SHTTBG EP for sale

It'll spark controversy through out the net and give Crooked a lot of exposure, and once Crook explains that it's a very very old diss back to when Snoop was dissing Death Row, they'll both be cool about it, and it may drive towards them being pushed to do a collaboration to prove their sincerity, and to die down the negative flames of the diss, because Snoop is not innocent in this either, but both are grown men
2pacs not around t osay "hey guys don't leak these songs"

But it's well documented that 2Pac was against bootlegs. Even early on, the video of him going off on one because some Asian guy with a stall had a bootleg 2Pac tape, and he erupted demanding he take all his tapes off the stall before he trash it.

The point is, forum members will gladly download the latest 2Pac leaks despite his opposed attitude towards it, but whine about Crooked I leaks? Why? The Death Row tracks, and leaks are what built his fan base in the first place. He shouldn't be too critical on the whole idea of his earlier work hitting the public ear. How come this song didn't drop in 2002 to respond to Snoop diss? Why they kept it in the down low?
Anyway too bad the song is tagged and in a shitty quality because it's one of the best crooked i's performance i've heard
too bad he doesn't rap like that anymore  :-\

I'd rather hear a Rawer Crooked I spitting in heavy freestyle mode (minus Say Hi To The Bad Guy) than his later commercial attempts with songs rattling 'C.O.B niggggga', 'Treacherousssss', 'Circle of Bosses' 'Demitrius', 'Horse Shoe', and naming himself in newer songs. I can't count how many times you hear "Crooked I/Crooked/Young Crooked" from himself on a verse. It's like listening to gay advertisements rather than real raw rap records

Don't get me wrong, he's still a hot MC, and hasn't lost his writing ability, but to me IMO he's just lost his colorful appeal he had at Tha Row, which originally led me to become a fan awaiting his album. A bunch of shelved albums, canceled release dates and a bunch of dull, cheaply produced beat mixtapes later, and his re-used "steretype gangsta" vocabulary being used in his newer material made me loose a lot of interest in him

There was a poll on this last year, and Untouchable came out on top. Now wouldn't be any different

Why he hasn't just leaked "B.O.S.S." is beyond me.  I can't really fault him for "Untouchable" not dropping.  That was pretty much due to Suge's weirdness.  But Crooked said he was going to release "B.O.S.S." for free, months and months ago.  Since he plans to start over for "Million Dollar Story," I don't know why he doesn't just do that.  People have been wanting to hear "B.O.S.S." for years now.  I hope he eventually follows through on what he said.

I can seriously understand why effex would be pissed off with it been tagged as boss board.

"Million Dollar Story" is nearly complete believe it or not, he's been in the studio A LOT working hard on it.

As far as "B.O.S.S." goes, I really haven't bothered to ask about it in a long time. The reason being because I'm in the mindstate that when stuff is ready to drop, it's ready to drop. Crooked gives us plenty of hot music for free anyway. However, for what it's worth, a member on our site met Crooked when he was overseas in Europe last month and said that Crooked told him the B.O.S.S. leaks will not come until after "Million Dollar Story".

I can understand two points of view on this subject. Firstly, you could argue that it would be better to leak the material each week leading up to the album release to build buzz. On the other hand, you could argue that since some of the songs are so old, it might be better to hit people with strictly brand new material. Like I said, both points of views make sense, I don't know if there is a right answer.

I'm going to stay patient though. It's not a biggy for me personally.

Those tracks are all hot. I agree he still spits fire, but I guess it's the related mixtape and filler tracks he's put out in recent times, which has diluted my enthusiasm in him. I wish it wasn't that way though, because he carried out that HHW perfectly, and does dope tracks like the ones you've mentioned. Besides Untouchable though, the unreleased Big C Style album would be another luxury for the fans, an almost unblemished raw talent before character and business development came into play probably during the time of the Say Hi To The Bad Guy recording sessions because from there on out, he became more commercial sounding. I hope Million Dollar Story exceeds my expectations though

Id rather hear the albums he did on 19th street records with big c style then the deathrow stuff.Thats when he was just raw skill.Songs like uh oh and niggaz got game get heavy play from me.

I only hope one day we get to hear all the albums hes recorded over the years.

I think hes a lot more polished as an artist and well rounded now then he was back then.

That's a great point.  I tend to overlook those, because they're not mentioned very frequently.  But Crooked's flow was so raw on the tracks from that era.  I would love to hear more.  Being that Big C-Style recently posted up those interviews and that greatest hits mixtape, I'm still hopeful that a 19th Street Crooked I album might be forthcoming.

Crooked is an MC, and a battling MC does not want some musical masterpiece to spit a diss over. Just a gritty beat/loop that allows them to flow well. People were all wanting to hear what Crooked said on Slap Back, and were eager to find out how hard it went. Now it's out, I've mostly seen people bash on the beat  ???

Big C Style Records album
Dogg Pound Records/Death Row (Untouchable 1)
Untouchable (Version 2)
Say Hi To The Bad Guy
Say Hi To The Bad Guy (Version 2)
Mamas Boy Got a Loaded Gun
B.O.S.S

Which one would you pick if he was going to release an unreleased album?

I really don't think Crooked lost his edge at all, the lyrics and word play are just as fresh as ever and he's in no way gone "soft". I think some people are just obsessed with the Death Row name.
Title: Re: So since Slap Back leaked

He's never lost his edge. He can still put out hot songs when he wants to. I think that when he was with Death Row, he was more exiting to listen to, and had good artist direction. Just listen to songs like "G'd Up & Banged Out", "Do It Again", "Niggaz Got Game" "I Shoulda Made You My Wife". What I said earlier about him being more colorful on Tha Row. He dropped hot lyrical tracks, with hotter/catchier beats more consistently which built his strong reputable profile. I think during the Dynasty days, he's been able to drop more raps on somewhat tiresome cheap sounding production, or your typical modern mixtape advertisement tracks. His guest verses have been on that similar tip too. The Yukmouth track "I'm a Gangsta" Crook raps about cars, money, making lots of it a day, with a slow commercial pop-rap sounding flow. It's the subtle things like these which devalue the actual hot tracks he does put out now, which is why people say they prefer the Death Row sound, because there's less flaws

What about post Death Row material such as...

-If You Ever Hear Me
-My Life
-Life As A Shorty (My Life 2.0)
-Auphelia Payne
-All I Ever Wanted
-You Need A Blessing
-American Me
-The Signs
-Leave Us Alone
-Gangstas Holiday
-Dream Big
-My Story (verse on Mick's Tape)
-Move On (w/ Slaughterhouse)
-Rain Drops (w/ Slaughterhouse)

Those are just his more introspective cuts too, he's got other upbeat tracks that were ill after Death Row too.

I'm not trying to argue with you, but simply pointing out that Crooked hasn't changed that much. I could name a bunch of tough songs too that he dropped, if you want comparisons to "G'd Up And Banged Out" or "Niggaz Got Game".

I agree with you on the song choices there. As I've said he drops hot material, and has the ability to still do it. His talent hasn't changed at all as a song writer or rapper. He can still put out hot songs, however I feel his management direction has lost it's path. He's and probably quite rightfully so as an individual trying to hit a mass market and make money, which I feel sometimes has him dropping some BS material from time to time which dampers his overall look in his post-Death Row era, more than what his commercial Death Row days seen. Songs like Hoodstar, So Damn Hood, Dollars In My Hand still showed more occasions of that unadulterated Gangsta rap within the songs, and not so much emphasis on money, commercial gangsterism, and mixtape principles.
