Tell me how I can't get a full time job. Fuckin' for real, tell me how!!!!!!!! All the applications put in, I finally thought I was about to get one this time. Last week I walk in there like thinkin' I'ma really have a chance cuz they doin' interviews THAT day so I'm straight thinkin' I'ma really have a chance...until this nigga who reviews my shit is A FUCKIN' FAGGOT GO FUCKIN' FIGURE, SEE MEN SEE, SHIT AIN'T EVEN RIGHTTTTTTT, JUST BY COINCIDENCE HOW THE FUCK I'MA GET A FUCKIN' FAGGOT TO REVIEW MY SHIT??? JUST BY COINCIDENCE RIGHT, FUCKIN FIGURES, HOW MEN HOW?? All I thought what the shit I was sayin' on here and I wanted to cry right there. Son goes, 'where you heard of us' I'm like 'the newspaper'..THIS MUTHAFUCKA rolls his eyes like and sucks his teeth, puckers up his lips, HOWEVER THE FUCK YOU WANNA DESCRIBE IT...you know that gay shit. HOW UNFAIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, and today was the last day of call backs, I GETS SHIT, SHIT, like nowwww God gon play me cuz I'm anti-gay, LIKE GOD, WHY THE FUCK YOU THINK I AM? So anyways I'm lookin' for the full time job to pay a rent, tell me how the apartment I WAS TRYIN' TO GET, GOT SOLD TODAY, REALLY? LADY COULDN'T FUCKIN' SELL IT, IT'S BEEN THERE FOR OVER A YEAR!! I said I had enuff money to pay now, but just in the future I was like yo let me just get a full time job!! But looks what happens!! BET YOU THEM PEOPLE PROLLY WON'T PAY NO FUCKIN' RENT ON TIME, I'LL BET CHU!! BET CHU MY LIFE....at this point. Somebody needa tell me how to get a job. I should have a list of 20 of my names on the computer at Home Depot, just goin' down the screen and I can't even get a CALL, a CHANCE??

have you had any jobs prior to the one you are applying for?
Resumes are very important for an interview but you also have to look good. dress shoes, shirt tucked in, with with a tie and some nice pants. Make sure you dont have a beard like Freeway too, shave up.
Always look the interviewer in the eye and thank them for their time after the interview is done. Make sure you give a nice firm hand shake too, no pussy shit.
I always like emailing the organization id like to work for first to get the interview, instead of walking up in there and asking if they are even hiring. So if they email me back, it lets me know they are interested.

when you get the job, prove to your friend that recommended you or your boss that you arent a bitch and you'll work hard at what your doing and that they didnt make a mistake.
then, once youve been working there for awhile and have gained respect and know the scene, then you can slack off and find easier ways of doing shit.
BUT YOU GUTTA WORK HARD FIRST.

I tried to get an online job one time. It was to write tutorials. Pay would be like 3 tutorials a week $20-40 each depending on length and in-depth. I needed to fill a W2 form which needed my social security, but since it was online I didn't want to do that. And the other way was for illegals or something. So no there either. :-\ I was 15 at the time.

muthafucka i just went through this whole process last week and found out i got the job on sunday. got orientation on saturday and the job starts in the next couple weeks when the weather gets better.

The first thing you'll need is a proper C.V.
Even if you don't have any previous work experience, you can use a fancy template in MS Word, and put up your personal info/contact info, education, schools, part-time job maybe, other experience.
And some well thought out stuff about what you want to work with, who you are, your plans/visions, interests, any licenses or certificates you've taken, courses, etc.
I've made a somewhat professional C.V. with a decent lay-out/design, and proper set-up describing my education, former jobs, references, interests, plans, etc.
I've gotten jobs several times without even meeting the boss, the C.V. and a phone call/conversation was all it took, but I understand that it might be harder to get jobs in U.S.

I have no idea what it feels like. I am 30 years old and basically been employed constantly since I was 17. However, I do follow finance blogs daily and read tons of stories. I KNOW it is hard. This country has to hire over 200,000 people a month, just to break even...just to keep up with new people entering the workforce. Yet businesses are not hiring, they are firing.
The reality of the matter is that there is going to be high unemployment in this country for years to come. During the big housing bubble we had so many businesses expand and grow out of proportion, and they are now closed, and those jobs are never coming back.
And not to dog on you Supreme, as I have said this to other people: Talking about your skills w/ MS office and quickbooks - the reality is, people w/ those skills come a dime a dozen. Nothing wrong w/ having those skills, but the reality is that there just simply are not enough jobs that need to utilize those skills. You got lawyers that can't find jobs, nurses can't find jobs, engineers that can't find jobs. People graduating w/ 6 figure debt from college that can't find jobs. You know why? BECAUSE THERE ARE NO JOBS!!!
My advice would be to learn some real skills that will always be needed. Needed like if you lived in the middle of Montana and had no computer, and needed to know how to do things to survive and what not - plumber, gardening, building, working on cars, sewing clothes, cooking, etc. you have to realize that we have lived in a phantom economy for the past 10 years, and there was millions of jobs created that literally create NOTHING! The jobs did nothing. They were all just part of the make believe bubble economy. And that ain't ever coming back.

The reality of the matter is that there is going to be high unemployment in this country for years to come. During the big housing bubble we had so many businesses expand and grow out of proportion, and they are now closed, and those jobs are never coming back.
And not to dog on you Supreme, as I have said this to other people: Talking about your skills w/ MS office and quickbooks - the reality is, people w/ those skills come a dime a dozen. Nothing wrong w/ having those skills, but the reality is that there just simply are not enough jobs that need to utilize those skills. You got lawyers that can't find jobs, nurses can't find jobs, engineers that can't find jobs. People graduating w/ 6 figure debt from college that can't find jobs. You know why? BECAUSE THERE ARE NO JOBS!!!
My advice would be to learn some real skills that will always be needed. Needed like if you lived in the middle of Montana and had no computer, and needed to know how to do things to survive and what not - plumber, gardening, building, working on cars, sewing clothes, cooking, etc. you have to realize that we have lived in a phantom economy for the past 10 years, and there was millions of jobs created that literally create NOTHING! The jobs did nothing. They were all just part of the make believe bubble economy. And that ain't ever coming back.

Resumes are very important for an interview but you also have to look good. dress shoes, shirt tucked in, with with a tie and some nice pants. Make sure you dont have a beard like Freeway too, shave up.
Always look the interviewer in the eye and thank them for their time after the interview is done. Make sure you give a nice firm hand shake too, no pussy shit.

Dont be afraid to apply to any job possible,within reason.Obviously dont apply to a job that you need a degree but,say its a sales job that requires experience apply anyways,whats the harm.Previously I had only worked labour jobs,construction etc.I applied to a sales job with no experience and had an awesome interview.Got the job and Im thriving in the position...Pause.The resume is key to getting any job.Ive gotten jobs straight off how nice my resume looks.So definitely let the guys on here help you with that because without a solid resume your not going to get any job.But a lot of jobs hinge on your interview skills.Ive gotten jobs I had no business getting based solely on how good I am in an interview.The reality is every job you apply for theirs going to be dozens of people applying for the same job.So if your one of forty people that person is going to talk to you better bring something to the table,personality wise.

I suck at shit like this myself, you really have to look for people who are good at this, in my case my ex-girlfriend. I never thought that visiting a social project for two days on a trip to Thailand could turn to "intercultural competence". But that's what it's about, basically. Take your experiences and make them look good. Take your spare time activities and make them sound like you're a versatilely interested person; if you really are, even better!

basically everything that i would've suggested has already been brought up by others in the thread, and from what ive read the links that have been posted and shit like that should help you get together a pretty good CV. i mean i can feel your pain man, certainly on the job front, having only just returned to work after 6 months of unemployment, its hard...just know that you're not alone in this, it may not make you feel any better right now but shit'll happen for you. In my experience a lotta the job world comes down to who you know rather than what you know...eg. somebody who can get you in a job, even if its temporary, to prove that your willing to work hard etc etc
imo a lot of it is also to do with confidence...spending a long time out of work and not hearing any positive feedback or not getting any interviews can obviously make you feel like its something you're doing wrong personally. But just make sure when your opportunities do arise that you are smart, tidy, polite and confident in yourself and your qualifications/experience

Don't know about that. Say you were applying for a job before the recession, you'd be competing with 20 people, whereas the same job nowadays, you'd be competing with 3 - 4 x as many people. But you do bring up a good point, it's even harder to get a good job.

i could transcribe, translate, etc... i just want to work for magazine/website writing about music, movies or fashion ... and they dont hire entry level anymore, those jobs are all interns, so im fucked.

Well the problem is I find in two major categories.One,people go to school without an actual career goal in mind.They go to school,spend two years of their life learning about shit that has no real value.Or two,their going after jobs that already have an over abundance of people.Like every chick I talk to wants to be a beautician or massage therapy,theirs just wayyyy too many people for a few jobs.People dont get creative enough in what they want to do.
Im currently working at a marketing company and going to school for video production.Learning camera work,editing,producing,directing,writing etc.All the behind scenes tools to create or work on a show or film.The class has a 90 percent success rate of people graduating and finding jobs within the first 3 months.They teach you a vast array of skills in the field and you can take it in many directions.
Even something as simple as learning a trade,electrician,plumber etc.Their is always a lot of demand for that type of work but everybody wants to work with computers lol.Ive got friends that I swear are almost half retarded but they learned a trade and make 40 dollars an hour.It doesnt take a genius to make money.
Personally Ive never worked at a fast food place or any low paying job,I just find that sad,but at the end of the day whatever keeps a roof over your head.People just lack the proper motivation and focus to make something of themselves.Its easy to want money and to be succesfull,its another to put things into motion and achieve everything.
